  1. Gilmer lost 10 starters on offense and 6 on defence. Jasper 41-21 Go DAWGS don't judge Jasper by this one because Gilmer is down. Jasper will roll. Go DAWGS.
  2. Isn't wildcat4life the one who last year said that k---VILLE would destroy WO/S. I saw that game and they showed WO/S by scoring a touchtown on them. Maby they will score one on Jasper too. Here are some excusses for wildcat4life. It was the referees we had our star player out it was luck if we would play them again we would beat them two of their tds should have been called back. they snuck some college players in on us.
  3. Good job EC, Ft. Bend Baptist is a good div.2 parochial school that lost 6 starters on office and 6 starters on defence and had a fantastic 3 - 7 record last year.
  4. Newton vs Coldsprings Very even scrimmage with varsity. Scrimmage was Newton 2 and Coldsprings 1 but Coldsprings was ever bit as good as Newton. Played one half 7-6 Newton. Not saying Newton won the scrimmage. No one wins a scrimmage. Newton JV 5 tds to 0. Coldsprings has a middle linebacker who also plays running back that is a one man recking crew. Very good. I think he is going to Tx. Tech. If you play against him, you will come to know him. Good luck Coldsprings, you have a good program going.
  5. Yes, Newton was a scared to death of EC last year. I know how you massacured Buna last year. And, Buna game Newton all they wanted. Lets see now, what was the scores between EC and Buna and between Buna and Newton? We are scared to death this year of EC.
  6. sounds like someone needs to go play games and leave the coaching to the coaches. Maby if he runs for the school board his son can play. Throw him a crying towel.
  7. Newton vs Center scrimmage Newton J.V. 5 TDS Center 0 Newton varsity 2 TDS Center 1 TD one quarter - game conditions- Newton 7 Center 0 . Newton looked really good running the ball and the defence was really good. I think we are ahead of where we were this time last year.
  8. Best of luck to Coach McDaniels.. I think Deweyville is ready to step up another notch in their football program and I think they have the right man to do it.
  9. Would love to see Newton and Kirbyville both go on to state. Garrison and San Augustine did it a few years ago in the same district. Other than the Newton game ,I will be pulling for you Kirbyville.
  10. I've thrown quiet a few out of the Newton games. Generally for flying gang colors, tobacco, alcahol, yelling obsene language where it can be hear by others, trying to watch the game from the parking lot, etc.. One at the state championship game for being drunk, a lot of them did not just go out the gate, they went to jail or were issued a ticket. Students caught with ear or tongue rings are turned over to the principal who will deal with them monday morning in his office. Most of you don't see this because you are not in or around that kind of conduct. I don't have a problem with people with the referees because I escort them on and off the field. My number one responsibility is to take care of the officials.
  11. Nederland in their lean year will have more wins than a lot of teams in their good years. Nederland has always had a winning tradition. Many programs are bad year after year after year and have no plans to change the way they play. They have accepted losing. Nederlands program will not accept many losing years before they holler for a new coach. The same goes for PN-G and other school who have winning tradition. Just let them have a few 2-8 or 3-7 losing years and just watch the fans demand a change.
  12. I wouldn't know, I graduated from PN-G and live in Newton. Ask someone from Colmesneil or Huntington or somewhere like that. Only a mother could support some of the programs. I guess some people like loosing. I agree with Bear Bryant, " winning isn't evrything, but it beats the '' heck'' out of coming in second''. Most of those teams could develope good athletes but don't care enough to hire and pay a good coach. I assure you, a good coach would change those programs. They may not be state champions but they would be competative and respected.
  13. Nederland wins this one. Should be a good one. Nederland 21 WO/S 14
  14. NEWTON EAGLES at Center Aug.15 Coldspring at Newton Aug.22
  15. O.K. - time to let the word out. It's not a stadium, its a Casino. Yes, we are called indians and this is called the reservation. '' get your peanuts, popcorn, hot dogs, slot machines"'. Just joking, but in a way it will be a lot like a casino, everyone who comes in here and plays us will be losers.
  16. If you don't like the way the school board is running things, then run for one of the positions on the school board. They are elected by the people in that school district. Don't just sit back and gripe about it, or is it that the people in your school district don't think enough of you to ELECT YOU. One school board member is not enough to keep a teachers contract from being renewed. It takes a majority of the school board voting against that contract.
  17. Newton will have the speed next year. They will have the highway patrol at the practices just to try to slow them down.
  18. Great year E.C. This Newton fan was pulling for you. You always have a quality program in basketball and football. Good luck next year.
  19. Newton schedule- updated C-Camden - week 0 E-Chambers - week 1 Diboll - week 2 Silsbee - week 3 Orangefield - week 4 week 5 - bye drawings for district positions is tentatively scheduled for Feb.22 in San Augustine.
  20. Newton will open against E-Chambers, then play Diboll. They also have Silsbee and Orangefield. They are trying to schedule another game with Possibly Jefferson but that is an outside shot. Newton had Kirbyville scheduled in pre-season but that had to change when Kirbyville droped down into district 23-2A.
  21. Newton and Woden will make the payoffs. Probably C-Camden in third. Woodville has at least 6 loses in district and Hemphill is out. Shelbyville will probably be eliminated.
  22. Before last nights games, Woden and C-Camden were tied for second place in district 23-2a with records of 7-2.
  23. The game was at Woden. Newton played bad, neumerous turnovers and missed neumerous shots from 4 feet in. Newton took the last shot in regulation with the game tied and missed four shots at the buzzer. Newton led by 5 with a short time left in the first OT then Newton turned the ball over twice letting Woden tie the game again. Give credit to Woden, they came out to play. Woden has a good team. I think their district record would be 6-2. Newton is now 7-1. Should be a good finish in this district. I think Woodville had 3 loses before last night. C-Camden had 2 loses before last night. Newton still has Central Heights at home this Friday and they have to go to Woodville and still have to play C-Camden at home. Could get interesting.
  24. Newton (phi slama jama) looked pretty good. Newton's center got into foul trouble early and did not play most of the game. Newton is half way through district and 7-0. It will be a tough second half, a lot of good teams in this district. C-Camden, Woodville, Wooden and Central Heights are all good teams. Shelbyville has a real good sophmore at center. This district will be well represented.
