I am sorry Championeagle I did not realize you are the only one allowed to disagree. I disagreed with you and you seem to get angry.  Again, I apoligize and retract all my statements, I had no right disagreeing with you. Please forgive me.

Champion eagle, in your post you stated that these two coaches would not get new contract. They are probably going to get new contracts next year. Your post seem to implement that they would not be back next year.  Getting the AX usually inplies to me that they would be gone.   Your statement on the supt. was totally uncalled for. The school board hired her because she was the best qualified, not because of where she lived. Dictionary definition of Ax is ''to be dismissed, expelled or rejected''. I am sorry that I misinterpreted your statement.

Correction on Newton's coach, coach Hall not coach Hill. Some of the coach's were not being rehired at the same positions they were in, but are going to be hired in another position. Some of them are taking a big cut in pay but have told me they would be back next year. It is not that Newton is not making monitary changes but that some of the coaches are taking it on themselves to make and accept sacrifices. Maby some of you know more than these coaches do that are telling me that they plan on being back next year. I guess next year we will see.

Seems someone is getting the wrong information on these coaches. Both are still coaching and are expected to be back next year. Newton has added even more coaches, Hill from Hemphill is aboard as is Gulley who went to Kirbyville with W.T. and came back with him. There is also two more coaches aboard and only one of them is in question to whether he will be back next year or not. All these coaches teach other than just coach. Also, I was told by one of the coaches that the attitude of the kids has improved, W.T. has implemented a program with decipline and the kids are reacting to it.   I apoligize to all of the district teams that are licking your chops, but Newton Football is BACK.

Hamilton resigns before noon meeting.

Coach Hamilton did not resign at 3 pm today as expected. Board trying to set up a special meeting at noon tomorrow.

Burkeville school board meet in a special scession last night. After executive session in which the board meet with coach Hamiltion, I was told that coach Hamilton came out of executive session very upset. The board said there would be no decision made until after 3pm tuesday ( march 8 th). Reading between the lines, coach Hamilton was probably given until 3pm today to resign. The school board is not scheduled to meet today. There may not have to be another meeting if he resigns. If not, then the board will set up another meeting and vote on his removal. I do know the details, but I am not sure what I should or shouldn't put out over this internet. I think everyone in the Burkeville area have now hear what happened.

kirbyville is looking for a full grown Motorcycle, not a Scooter.

Four way tie, three teams go. They meet today to draw playoff positions and site. The four teams play and the two winners of the first games play again for first and second. The two losers from the first game play again for third place and the loser of that game is out.

Decisions made by the school board are no win situations. Any way you go on making these cuts there will be people who don't agree with the results.  I support the decisions made by the school board. I am sure that no one on the school board wanted to cut anyone. There is no good choice when making these type of decisions.

Why not do away with football, baseball, and basketball and get some real good looking voleyball uniforms.

you are right JB94, Fat Fred's is the real deal, the rumor now is that the cook there is in the running for the head coaching job.

Hopefully this will be the year for a state championship. Good luck WO-S and Coach Hooks. A great football program with a great tradition.

The problem at Hemphill is that the kids are not going out for football. Fantastic facilities but no interest from the kids to take part in a losing program. A good coach could turn this program back around. Hemphill has had some good teams in the past. Good luck Hemphill on getting your program back on track. P.S. my friends sister in law who knows the cousin of a friend that knows a teacher who said she knew the mother of a student whos 5th cousin knows someone who is a friend of one of the school board members said  that they though there might be a selection soon. I think that is good solid information.

eagleswoodville no.1 is right. The last five minutes of the game SHOULD NOT COUNT. I have contacted the UIL and they promised to look into a new rule change next year. The new rule would read, '' THE LAST FIVE MINUTES OF A FOOTBALL GAME DOES NOT COUNT WHEN PLAYING WOODVILLE".
