  1. congradulation K-Ville, really good program. Coach Alvaraz is not only a good coach but one heck of good person. And he has one of the best defensive coordinators in the state. Best of luck throughout the playoffs. Watch out Vidor, you are next. This team is just that good.
  2. don't blame you (w/e2010)for wanting to sit on the home side. After all, that's going to be the winning side. Would some of you BC fans move over and make room for him?
  3. no contest this year. not that Newton is that bad but kirbyville's defense is just that good. W.T. Johnson is just that good of a defensive coordinator. Good luck Kirbyville throughout the playoffs, I think you will make a good run towards the state championship. Newton's offensive and defensive lines have not yet developed. They will be ready by the time the playoffs begin.
  4. Mr. W.W. from Brkv, what is the difference between him bashing your team and you continually bashing him over this site? Does two wrongs make a right? Everyone in Brkv and NEWTON knows it was a true statement but a a statement that should not have been printed in the newspaper or said publicly. It's time to move on.
  5. Wow----Kirbyville beat a good team in Coldsprings. kat's are going to be a team to deal with again this year. Coldsprings shoved us all over the field in a scrimmage. I am afraid Newton is in for a long night next friday night.
  6. Newton's offensive line looked bad. Newton's defensive front pushed around. Could not stop Crockett's running game. Crockett looked to be the better team. Newton is definately not the no. 2 team in the state. The young offensive line will improve but may have a rough time early in the season.
  7. Hope Evadale is going to have all the kinks ironed out this year. Seems I heard that last year. Playoffs    1ST ROUND    Evadale -bye 2nd Round    Evadale 7    Mart - 60
  8. This will be a good one. Coldsprings will score but so will Kirbyville.  Pulling for Kirbyville but I think Coldsprings will take this one in a high scoring game. Coldsprings (on offense) reminds me of a Carthage team a year ago. Defence will give up points. go kats  -  hope  I am wrong.
  9. Newton still has a few holes to plug. one of the offesive tackles which was being counted on to start quit the team. trying to break in two new kids. will take a while for them to learn the positions. Newton will be solid, especially when it counts and that is at playoff time. Newton will be ready for a run at the state title provided we keep our kids healthy. Injuries really hurt us the last two years. tough pre season schedule will prepare Newton for the playoffs. Kirbyville is going to be very strong, Corrigan Camden is ranked no. 6 in the 2A pole and Silsbee is very strongl;
  10. Was that the year the mighty state famous orangefield bobcats won state and went on to be ranked no.1 in the nation?
  11. does anyone know if these kick off games will be telivised or not. will fox sw carry the games.
  12.   One of the coaches told me that he watched the Coldsprings Jaspers scrimmage held Sat. morning and that Coldsprings  run over Jasper. Said Coldsprings line is huge and averaged about 10 yards a carry.
  13. NEWTON  JV  2 HEMPHILL 0 NEWTON V 4 HEMPHILL 0 Only winners were those selling something cold at the consession stand.
  14. Those picking San Augustine to finish failrly high, beware, they lost 5 players this year by transfer. At least thats what a San. Augustine coach told me during basketball season. Also, watch out for Anuhuac, they will have speed, and I mean speed. They are a program that is coming together.
  15. badndn you are correct, most people are voting for the players on their team. Therefore, Silsbee is population wise 10 time that of Newton, therefore, Halston Flanigan had 7 votes and multiply that by the factor of 10 and you get 70 votes. Therefore, Halston is the winning QB. an't that the pitts, WAKE UP AMERICA.
  16. What is the difference between DONE and OFFICIAll DONE? I think officially done must mean you can come back and continue to gripe about it. WAKE UP AMERICA!
  17. UIL is putting as many strong playoff teams together in one district. They started this the last realignment. This means some of the weaker teams in the weaker district will make the playoffs and some of the stronger teams in the stronger districts will be sitting home. When these weaker districts meet the stronger district in the playoffs it could be embarrasing. They are not doing the weaker teams a favor by grouping them together. You don't get stronger by playing weaker teams in your district. UIL IS WAY OFF BASE WITH THIS SUGGESTION. HOPE THIS DOES NOT PASS.
  18. Come playoff time watch out for Carthage. I was told that they get that entire mamouth line back. Lost their good running back but most anyone can run through the holes the Carthage line makes. GO STANGS. A Hooks team can compete with anyone though.
  19. There are other reasons that some coaches get fired besides their performance in athletics. But 5 coaches in 5 years ! Remember this school board hired these same coaches. Sounds like this school board need a little reorganization. The school district citizens have to carry a little of this blame also, they elected there people to the board. Board members are elected for 4 years with about half coming up for election every 2 years. Seems like they must be liking what the board is doing for there has to have been elections during this 5 year period. Interesting to see the outcome. Students being absent cost the school to lose money from the State.
  20. I can sure understand some people's negative attitude towards WO-S. We have the same problem with teams in our distrisct that have rarely or never beaten us. What is so great about WO-S? They are WINNERS. The other side of that coin is the LOSERS.
  21. Just joking torbush, but I will be glad when they do announce the choice for HC.
  22. Hate to disappoint you torbush but I saw the hiring list and you were right behind R. Morales, the math teacher from Eisenhower high school
