I watched the game. Unbelievable mistakes by the Mustangs. But all of you Mustang fans that are complaining, 'were you at the game?' The WO-S side which is way smaller then the Jasper side was only about 1/3 full. There are a lot of people hoping that you get rid of CT, because they are tired of getting beat by him every year. I am from Newton and I am a CT supporter and know he is one of the greatest high school coaches in the State. He will be in the Texas HS Coaches hall of fame some day. Thanks CT for the great memories and I know it will not be long before I see them again.

As far as playing larger schools in preseason, the local teams that are the same size as your team are in your district and you cannot play them in preseason. That leaves you with teams that are larger or smaller then your team. Now, which way do you go, up or down. You gain nothing by playing a smaller school unless they have a very good program. So, you play larger schools (if they will play you). You don't want to play teams that are far away because your JV and Jr. High teams play Thursday night and they have school the next day.

I don't see any of these posts coming from Newton fans. My daddy can whip your daddy, my brother can whip your brother.............We ,Newton people, know we can be beat.

Interesting, the top three teams in all 3A are all 3A-2.

Ernie Holmes from Wiergate, Texas. No.63 ,anchored the middle of the steel curtain for the Pittsburgh Steelers. The high school was in Wiergate before moving the school down the road about 2 miles to Burkeville.

Gilmer is a quality program. Just like WO-S they have earned respect across the state.

Gilmer is the best offence team we have faced this year. WO-S is the best defensive team we have faced this year. Both of those teams will go far in the playoffs. I think Gilmer is a better team than WO-S. Newton will be down next year, but look out in two years when our 8th grade team become sophomores. This is one of the best group of kids that have come through Newton.

This is a bad post. Hope whoever posted this is not from Newton. Newton people know that we cannot beat everyone.
