After playing both Silsbee and WO-S, I see no way Silsbee will beat WO-S.

Nothing but respect for both teams. Two great teams with tradition. Best of luck for both teams throughout the playoffs.

Remember, It was WO-S who did not want to play Newton.

One of Silsbee's problems is the they have given up 104 points in two game while scoring only28. Silsbee is way over rated this year. They will give up another 40+ Friday night.

Newton had three players hurt last week. Two are D1 players. One of those players was out last week also. Not making excuses, WO-S may have a few players out also, but I hope not. The Newton people have a lot of respect for WO-S and I believe WO-S has the same for Newton. Win or lose, Newton and W0-S will still be respected programs.

This year and next year before things start getting better. Kirbyville's JV was just as bad as their varsity. Hopefully the kids will buy into his program and the people will have patience . No coach is going to change this program over night. Best of luck to you coach Jones.

Last years score between Newton/Silsbee was Newton 41 Silsbee 17. also, Silsbee 0-1 vs. Newton 1-0 not Silsbee 0-1 vs. Newton 0-1.

Could not be any worse then the Newton/EC game last year.

I respect our neighbors, Kirbyville and Jasper. I can remember a few years ago when Kirbyville has a Ford running on all eight cylinders running up and down the field. Hope K-ville gets their program back on track.

You people at WO-S Should send Vidor a trophy for scoring on you in a scrimmage. It obviously made their season. WO-S will be just fine.

You do not elevate your program by playing weak teams. I can remember when EC was a hard game for anyone. Only way to get back to being an outstanding team is to play better competition. So, you are offering me the coaching job, sounds like you are headed in the right direction. How much does it pay?

Scrimmages do mean something.

What will help is when EC plays that tough preseason schedule. Kountze 0-7, H.Jeff. 2-6 and H. Fannett 2-7.

You may be right about LCM at Newton, The Newton school site showed the game at LCM. I had heard earlier from one of the coaches that the scrimmage was in Newton. Newton scrimmaged at LCM last year.

I am not for banning them, just require that they be a minimum of 10 miles from the stadium. If you are down on the track, like I am, and that frazzling thing goes off, it is damaging to your ears. Newton's district has a ban on them along with the air horns in the stands.
