  1. I was one of those parents that got thrown out. That guy also tried to throw my wife out and she never said a word. All I can do is tell you that the AD did nothing but apologize for the umpire. The AD was standing right by us when it happened. The guy had rabbit ears and wasn't very good. I disagreed with his call and didn't use any ugly words. I can tell you this, Chester86, I hope he is better at his day job and shows more patience than he did all of yesterday. One guy does that much damage to coaches and parents then he may be the problem. I've watched and coached many many games and only been thrown out of one other game and that was because the ump thought I did something that the guy I was coaching with did. It is what it is. I'll be back today. Hopefully he has a better day!!!

  2. Headed to Sunnyvale for a baseball tournament. You could've made a case for all of the kids. I'll say this, there's more to being an MVP than just stats. I have no idea what the kid from Silsbee brings to the table other than stats, I'm sure he has other tangibles. What I will say is he is one helluva athlete and no one could've/should've argued if he had won the award. Congrats to the well deserved winners also!!!

This will probably be taken the wrong way when I say it, so at the outset I will say the following: 1) I do support a season long DI-DII split in both 6A and 5A and in fact think it is even more necessary than in the classifications where such a split currently exists yet 2) I don't like systems that water down the race for the playoff and I firmly believe that the split should be accompanied by a reduction of teams from each district from 4 to 2.  That being said, I have the following question for Cougar 14.2:

You offer the above criticism of the DI-D2 split in Class 4A, but isn't the split that caused the above situation the very split that you are advocating for Class 5A?

I have always felt the exact same way about 4 teams making the playoffs, until WOS baseball came in 3rd in their district last year and finished as the State runner-up.

Half of the schools now done with football, so other than some basketball players, most are headed to baseball class.  Just hope it is not as wet and cold as it was last season, miserable weather.  I heard it is suppose to be worse with El Nino year.  Hope they are wrong, nothing worse than playing ball in 40 degree temp with wet conditions, Reflexes are slower and nobody at their best, especially the fans freezing in the stands, actually bought a heater last year for baseball.

Who other than Sr.'s get to leave football class and go to baseball class????????
