  1. It was a great catch and you had reason to be proud. Catch or no catch I was still proud of the hit. He hit another one to left the next time up and a different kid caught it. He did get one out to left that didn't get caught so he did ok. Yall have a really good team and the most impressive thing abou them is the base running. Keep up the good work. I hope we get another chance Sunday. If we play like we played last night I will expect the same results though.

  2. Thanks Castor!

We got word from our coach that everything was cancelled until Monday. I'm trying to call him as we speak. The director has now changed it to Sunday at 6. That stinks for me assuming we (Pinto) win our first game we will then play in Sour Lake Sunday at 5. Oh well that's how the cookie crumbles. We heard from the director that the Vidor guys are saying thier field is ready to go. If it is and Orange's isn't maybe they can get them in there. Good luck to everyone. Especially those working on the field. One thing is for sure, you won't have as many people helping as you could use. However, you will have more than you know what to do with complaining about how the field may or may not look. I say lace em up and get after it and let the best team win.

  3. There hasn't been anything but nice comments on here and I'm glad to finally find a forum where people can be civil. The director is the one that schedules the games. So there is nothing about the games being called off until Monday that makes me go HMMMMMMMM! If you knew how much water has been removed from that field you would know that it is unplayable. Is it unplayable until Monday, well I don't know but if you have any questions about the scheduling call the director before you start throwing stones.

  4. Too bad they didn't put the picture of that child hitting the ball left handed. He sure looks to be in a good hitting position with his head down and front knee locked in. Too bad they didn't get another shot of him hitting from the right side  and do a side by side picture. Oh maybe I feel that way becuase I'm biased. It is a good picture of him that Gabriel took and I would love a copy of it. Good luck toOrange if and when they ever get to play again.

  5. Girlplayer,

She plays better than most boys so I sometimes forget she's a girl. Everytime I see her smiling face I'm reminded that she is a girl. I'm not sure how she can be so cute and be such a good baseball player too. They played great yesterday, didn't they?

  6. You two are so funny. All we want to do is play our 6 innings and see who can get to the snow cone stand the fastest.

As far as Dallas goes, if we are smart we will all make reservations to be there. You can cancel very easy. It's a nightmare trying to find a nice place to stay that's close to the field. So I guess you two are good for something. Too bad we can't all go. Twin County will probably end up going and us three mullets will get to stay home and work.

Have a good weekend and stop the rain. I have to go work on the field so my little Shetland boys can play on Sunday. Go figure we have a bye on Saturday.

Tony (if you ain't cheatin you ain't tryin) hahahaha

  7. Yall should be ashamed. You both lay low until tournament time and then come beat up on us. We aren't falling for it this year. We are coming ready to play. I just want us to play to our potential and let the cards fall where they will.

You two should get together and scrimmage. I know we got alot of good work from playing Vidor and Groves.

You two better hope it doesn't come down to the best coach because yall don't have a chance. hahaha I made myself laugh at that one.

    Good luck,

  8. Cory - this is Tony Dallas - I talked to Bryan Bost who is the coach for Groves.  We scrimmaged him last night and he is looking for another team to scrimmage.  I've lost your number, but I have his.  Please contact him at 718-8611.

If you need to get in touch with me, my number is 409-882-1943.  Please reply to this and give me your cell number again.  Good luck and let me know if you need anything.

  9. I've always been calm enough to coach kids. I still don't have the patience to deal with some of the things the adults bring to the table. Such as all of the mess that is going on with the OYBS shetland. There are alot of those people that aren't doing what's right for ALL kids. Plenty of those guys are in this for the wrong reason. Making deals and deciding who and who not to vote for before you even know who is going to be put up for all-stars. Having a secret meeting telling a coach if you take my son then I'll vote for who you want me to. Cudo's for the coach that turned that deal down and said he wanted the 12 best. Sorry but you didn't get the 12 best.

  10. I hope this is the last time I reply to this subject. I went back and read all the post again and it drives me crazy that "Stacked" said what he said. He moved his child to a new team also and that team was the A's. Not to mention if you have a problem with the decisions I make as a parent call me, email me or come by my office. I'm not hiding behind a screen name and I'm very easy to get in contact with. Everyone knows who you are and now you have nothing to say because you can't hide any more. Don't be a coward now that you've been found out.

  11. I don't think he meant anything by his "B" team comment either. What everyone has to realize is that if the coaches do their job right when they pick all-stars, then the best kid on the B team shouldn't be as good as the worst kid on the A team. Picking all-stars is a very difficult thing. It's hard to evaluate kids that are as young as 5-8 and even older. However, as a coach that's one of the things we must do. If all coaches would take the politics and the "side deals" out of it and choose the 12 best kids then all of the leagues would be better.

  12. I know who he is and he should be ashamed of what he has said. Now he is trying to hide behind saying that he was just doing it to get conversation started. He moved his child to the A's last year. Now he wants to hide behind a screen name and stir things up when his son no longer plays in our league. Stacked, you moved your son to Bridge City Little League so get involved over there and we will continue to try to do the best we can do to keep things straight at OYBS. If people would spend their time trying to make things better instead of keeping things stirred up all leagues would be better off. Get on a board, hold a position and have a voice. It can make a difference!

  13. Thanks piratefan. We played good defense most of the weekend but fell apart defensively in the championship game. The team that beat us played better than we did and won. I still have to figure out a way to get the bats going like they do at practice. Let me know if yall want to scrimmage sometime. All in all not to bad for a bunch of kids that played their first game together this weekend.
