Yes, the girls only had 3 seniors. All started. They'll return Reese Sherman though. That's enough to get them back to the playoffs.

The playoff bracket has Kountze/Crockett last night and not tonight. Anyone know for sure?

Buna plays fairly well on the inside too. If big Isaiah Robinson gets position on you its a bucket. Franklin Renfro can rebound it well too. Saying that I'm with you. Buna by 8.

What school board members? I do know that there was a large turnover on the Buna school board at the last election. Of course, that would not have helped Whitmire since he left before then.

I also think Coach Wilson is a very good basketball coach.

Coach Wilson has been fantastic. I'd argue that Wilson is a BETTER coach than Whitmire, and that's no slight to Whitmire at all. He's a really good coach. If Buna misses the playoffs this season, it'll have everything to do with how tough the district has been this season.

I haven't watched the video yet, but what I can tell you is when my daughter's team played at PNG, they were allowed to say some of the nastiest  things I've ever heard to her team. No one said a word, not the administrators, home team fans, or officials. Everyone heard it. Most laughed. Then, once the PNG girls realized they were going to lose, the shoves in the back and fouls going for the kid and not the ball began to happen. 3 intentional fouls in the last 4 minutes or so of the game. the coach didn't bother to pull or even talk to any of the girls committing the intentional fouls. That being said, may point is nothing that happens at a PNG basketball game surprises me. Worst basketball fans in southeast Texas bar none.

The first 3 spots are locked up. Warren gets in with a win over Hardin. OF can get in with a Warren loss and an OF win over Anahuac. Warren holds the tiebreaker with OF. Anahuac can get in with a win over OF and a Warren loss. Anahuac holds the tiebreaker with Warren.

I think OF and Buna both are better than everyone in this region 3 top 10 with the exception of Franklin. Just one guy's opinion though.

Seems like every game played in this district has been very close with the exception of games that include Warren, Hardin, or Kirbyville. The top 5 teams are highly competitive. One really good team will get left out of the playoffs. Looks like it'll be Buna left out as of right now. Who knows though? It'll be interesting down the stretch.

I've seen them both play, and I think HF has the better team this year. We'll find out soon enough. Should be a fun game to watch!

This is absolutely true. I commented off of what I heard instead of what I saw. I saw it this morning. Aggie is correct.

This is true. While OF and Anahuac have an Ace at the top of their staff, Buna does as well in Kale Knox. (Supergold MVP and District POTY last season.) Buna will also have Jr. Carson Burks returning from an elbow injury. He was a huge part of the playoff run in 2021 as a freshman, and did not pitch or play last season. Same goes for Denton Peveto who played but was unable to pitch last season. Sophomore Daniel Midkiff was the number 2 starter last season. He notched shutouts of Central Heights and Anderson-Shiro in the playoffs. I'd argue that collectively, Buna has more pitching than anyone in this district. Knox is more than capable of going toe to toe with Bodin or Edmonds.

I was asked by another person on another thread after I made a comment on how great the Buna/Anahuac game was the other night, "How was the officiating in that game?" I told him it was really great, and thinking back on it now, that particular game may have been the best officiated game I've seen so far this season. So, I asked where the officials were from because I had not seen them before Tuesday night. These particular guys were from near College Station.
