Uncle Pig got a reaction from piratevillain in LBJ vs Lindale Complaint was filed to UIL
It’s mind blowing how anytime something like this happens there are ALWAYS racial slurs involved! Give me a break! I’m quite certain Lindale has several black players, one of them being their star running back. I will wholeheartedly agree we have some racial issues in this country, but the constant accusations of racial slurs are just ridiculous! I say all this being a white man with a mixed wife; I’m certainly not trying to offend or upset anyone as this is just my opinion

So the basis is now bribery, not racism? This is getting ridiculous.
Even taking the wild rumor of a bribe as true, there would be no interesting lawsuit against TASO. Vicarious liability, which is defined as an entity being liable for the acts of its agent, does not apply in cases of intentional act of the agent unless the entity required that action or it was reasonably foreseeable. Taking a bribe, which is apparently the new allegation, is an intentional act.
The referee himself, if this ridiculous allegation is true, could be liable, but you would not reach the deep pockets of TASO.
And the NAACP can threaten all of the legal action it wants, it is just blowing smoke. It has no standing to bring a suit in this case. It can provide attorney's for the "injured" parties, it can be the driving force, but it can't be the filing party to this suit as it has no standing to do so.
I also find it telling that despite all of this, there is no report of either LBJ High School or Austin ISD making any contact with the UIL about this.
The only one I see being close to having legal action are the members of the officiating crew who have now had allegations of racism (despite the fact that at least one of the members of that "racist crew" was African American) and now bribery thrown at them, with what is out there right now, not much basis for it. It doesn't reach it yet, but this is becoming dangerously close to turning into a defamation lawsuit.
Ultimately, the only effect that will come out of this is a chilling effect on anyone who wants to enter into officiating. On top of verbal abuse and social media complaints, we have now seen officials become the victims of battery and now subject to civil and/or criminal allegations because someone did not like their calls.
Yeah, that makes me want to get out there for 50 bucks a game.

I certainly have no clue on the ins and outs of the WB football program, but I can’t help but agree with this guy. Multiple turnovers will get you beat every time, regardless of who the coach is. It always seems that no matter what happened in the game, the losing teams’ coach is ALWAYS to blame; never ceases to amaze me.

Maybe the “opt out” culture, that’s been prevalent in college and pro sports this year, has now spread to HS sports. Many college football players have quit on their teams this year. The transfer portal plays a big part in it too.

I did, I was not expecting the game to be much different than it turned out to be. The stadium is in a very nice neighborhood, quite different than your normal high school stadiums. Very little room on the visitors side from the field to the stands. I was on the top row and you could hear the coaches talking to the players. It was not easy finding the parking garage for the visitors which was on a one way street with road construction. The bag pipes playing before the game gave a unique feeling. You could tell they have lots of tradition and community support. I'm glad I made the trip.

Yessir you’re exactly right. It looks to me like PNG is really soft and play a very passive, finesse type of football. At the end of the day you’ve got to have some guys that will get after it and aggressively block and tackle the opponent if you’re to be successful. JMO

Agree with all the above; also it seems as if coaches are more likely to put the majority of their good players on offense

Isn't dancing on the grave of a team that your team had nothing to do with burying so fun!?
Even leaving out Carthage, I just wonder how those that are accusing WO-S faithful of using the "excuse card" would have reacted had the shoe been on the other foot tonight and it would have been China Spring with the 6 starters, including the offensive line......the......entire.......offensive line and the Mustangs came out victorious. Actually, I don't have to wonder that much as those same folks would have flooded the board with comments such as "well, you beat a team that had 6 starters out which is the only way you could have beat them."
Those folk's hypocrisy aside, whether you think the starters being out did or did not matter in the outcome of this game really doesn't matter. The scoreboard is the final arbiter of who is the better team on a particular night, it always has been. And it is draconian arbiter with no compassion as to who a team does or does have playing. It only measures the performance of those on the field at the time of the game. And the West Orange-Stark Mustang team on the field was the best that WO-S had to offer tonight.
That might not have been the case back in September.
Heck, it might not have been the case last week.
But it was tonight. China Spring beat the best that WO-S had to offer and for that they get my congratulations and my best wishes for the rest of the season. I think that the impact China Spring had on Region III was overshadowed by Carthage's moving into the Region. They may not have to stay in that shadow much longer.
I am always proud West Orange-Stark alum but there are times you really beam. Of course, the biggest of those times came in the years 1986, 1987, 2015 and 2016. I must say, that have been very few, if any, times that my Mustang pride has been real high in a loss.
That changed tonight.
No, for one of the few times in the last decade, the Mustangs won't have football practice for Thanksgiving. But tonight, they showed that they had learned some life lessons well and may have very have taught some tonight. At the very least, they affirmed some. 1. Always show up 2. Never quit. Yes, even though my alma mater won't even sniff the regional finals this year, I can affirm that I am a proud graduate of West Orange-Stark High School. I am proud of Coach Thompson and the coaching staff and I am proud of the kids that suited up tonight. The easy way out would have been a call to Coach Bell and say "we are just missing too many players" and forfeit the game. The fact is, we are just not raised that way in the communities of Orange, West Orange and Pinehurst.
Now, let's be sure, there are some that will crucifying Coach Thompson for even the entertaining the thought of playing tonight. I am sure that resident Beaumont Enterprise coronabros Jorge Ramos and Matt Faye, who, although they will deny it citing themselves as "sports reporters", rooted tirelessly against playing football at any level, have already sent out umpteen tweets calling his decision wreckless and will soon publish a 1000 word column on how WO-S' fate in the playoffs is indisputable proof that not one down of high school football should have been played.
I think tonight showed just the opposite.

Yeah but you're talking about the almighty University of Carthage. They are the only team in the state who could forfeit next week and still advance.
