  1. It's Robinson and they take offense being called part of Waco. Just warning you now before they show up lol
  2. How interesting you left out the actual on-the-field score against Stafford which was Stafford 42, Bellville 0. They can be stopped. I think the rest of the state is gonna get a shock from Southeast Texas because they see the scores against WOS and think every team here (Bridge City, Silsbee, LCM, OF, Liberty, HJ) will be complete pushovers. That will not be true. Good luck guys! I'm rooting for you all.
  3. The way 9-4A D1 are talking if any of the 10-4A teams win it will be an upset. I happen to disagree.
  4. Carter beat Killeen 25-24 I believe, tied Duncanville and had extremely close games within a TD with Marshall, De Soto and Permian so they were far from dominating.
  5. Hebert merged with Forest Park and South Park to form West Brook. West Brook did pretty well in the '80s. They were the team to beat until WOS in '85 so not sure what Hebert fans would be upset about other than being forced to merge. I'm not trying to start anything. Hebert and West Brook have won the same number of titles. One each.
  6. Carter didn't even win their district that year. They were runner-up behind Duncanville. They were waaaay overhyped because of the book and movie. It's really difficult to compare teams over decades because the game has evolved so much. Waco in the 1920's had a stretch allowing less points than Daingerfield and made six state finals in a row. Abilene in the 1920's and 1950's. They went one year only allowing 3 points and that was to Waco in the state championship. Big Sandy in the early 1970's set scoring and defensive records. WOS was tied with Houston Yates 6-6 in the 4th quarter leading in penetrations until Yates scored two TDs at the very end to win it in 1985. I was at that game at the dome. One of the saddest drives home ever.
  7. Because West Brook won a state championship that year despite the anger but justified desegregation and Ozen has never come close. Please don't tell me you're trying to make an argument to bring back segregation.
  8. Eh... West Brook 1982. Not quite the same.
  9. I'm rooting for you. Unfortunately this isn't 1980 and even that season ended in disappointment. You still have 6 weeks left potentially. Do it! Just like churchgoers who only show up on holy days there are fairweather fans. I'd love to see Port Arthur back up where it was for 6 decades
  10. Is Bellville any different from last year? WOS is pretty much the exact same just one year older and 12 games further along in experience since we last met them.
  11. Well in the words of a die hard Celina fan - "Don't sleep on Tarkington. This one will be uncomfortably close at kickoff. But WOS's depth and skill will allow them to pull away late on their opening drive." But in all seriousness. One game at a time folks. Give a team something to read on their locker room board and things can change. Read that story about the La Marque - Hitchcock game.
  12. Just imagine what 3 consecutive trips to the State Championships is like! Could happen for the 2nd time this year. Gratz to all the area teams! I'll be following and cheering for all of you.

  14. LOL. One game a rivalry does not make. Just ask Jasper about that whole winning the first game thing and how that turned out for them against WOS.
  15. Just be happy WOS isn't still 5A or PNG would be sitting home too. Sad but you can't say It isn't true
  16. And the streak continues. 22 years and counting
  17. 100 miles north of Houston right off IH45, past Huntsville. A little less than halfway to Dallas.
  18. Hobbling along still but no more walker, cane or boot. So much improved!
