  1. it looks like Silsbee isn't all that fast, or maybe we have a little speed, too?
  2. Good luck and hoping good an injury-free contest that we can all talk about for a while. And a BC win. Go Cards!
  3. I'd say that a two game suspension should be sufficient. If the kid he stomped had been seriously injured, I'd say that the suspension should last until the injured kid is able to return to action. As far as college offers go, I'd assume that anybody looking at this kid would also see the suspension or at least question the drop in production caused by the suspension and be able to make a better assessment of the total package that they'd be getting. There's just no excuse for this type of behavior.
  4. Draper missed one game due to illness and also left the Newton game after a few plays. We've also played one less game than Silsbee with our consecutive bye weeks. He's still getting his yardage up the field, but like ST413 said, it's consistent gains on shorter runs. He definitely doesn't have Tyler's breakaway speed in the open, and his yardage totals are nowhere near Tyler's. On the other hand there are multiple other RBs from BC who also bring a lot of speed and carry for lots of yardage. Baker, Morris, Denton, Trahan (QB) and Lara all have multiple rushing TDs. It seems like defenses are focusing on stopping Draper between the tackles and giving up more yards to the other guys. Either way, it's been working out just fine. I think that it will be a back-and-forth affair with both teams exchanging TDs... The only thing that will change that is if one team or the other can establish a big lead early due to turnovers or by forcing 3-and-outs. I'm not sure either team is built for coming back if they fall behind by more than a couple of touchdowns.
  5. And WOS played MUCH tougher opposition to earn those numbers. It's nice to see Liberty having a good year for Liberty.... the only problem is that WOS is having a GREAT year for high school football...
  6. Come to historic Larry Ward Stadium in Bridge City.... 7:00pm. The Cardinals will be hosting the Silsbee Tigers in what promises to be a key matchup in the race for the district championship. You'll get to see our clock-grinding running attack, as well as Silsbee's "hands-down, best receiving corp in southeast Texas." Pardon me, I meant the two-headed rushing attack of highly recruited Silsbee RB Calvin Tyler, Jr. and the underated Adonis Thomas. All jokes aside, both teams are looking forward to this matchup, and with the defenses of both squads being, well.... kinda suspect, it should be a high(er) scoring, fun game to watch. Good concessions on both sides of the field, decent parking, plenty of room in the stands, and I understand we could be having another flyover by the Blue Angels. Or at least the Orange County Mosquito Control plane. Join us!
  7. Our kids rocked the khakis and band shirts until it cooled off a little... that and they sometimes just wear casual gear right before contests so nobody dumps a coke on their white band pants. I personally liked Livingston's "Marching Pickle" green unis.
  8. There are football schools, and there are schools that don't care about football, Livingston makes the schools that don't care about football look good. And as far as I've heard, they have zero plans of doing anything about their football stadium.
  9. 1. The Woodlands 2. Barbers Hill 3. Crosby 4. Dayton 5. Port Neches-Groves 6. Lumberton 7. Port Arthur Memorial 8. Vidor 9. Huffman Hargrave 10. Bridge City 11. Tatum 12. Madisonville 13. Orangefield 14. Liberty 15. Trinity 16. Woodville 17. Anahuac 18. East Chambers 19. Newton 20. Alto 21. Joaquin 22. Lovelady 23. West Hardin 24. Sabine Pass 25. Beaumont Legacy Christian
  10. Hunter was state qualifier last year, but I don't remember exactly which event. Was it 100 or 200? I know that Barnes is fast, fast. Didn't he go to the state meet as well?
  11. I think it'll be close, too. It'll come down to turnovers and penalties, IMO. I'm anxious to see if the Tigres will be able to put A. Thomas and Tyler both on the field. It'd be a shame if one or both were physically unable to to go.
  12. I saw that this will be the Blitz Game of the Week......
  13. I vote "yes" so PAM can get back to losing to teams their own size.
  14. Should be a good game. I think we'll be able to move the ball on Silsbee, and we aren't going to shut down Silsbee's run game either. We've got to do our best to slow the Silsbee rushing attack down and not make stupid, drive-killing mistakes. Of course I believe that we'll win on Friday, but I wouldn't give any points, lol. Both teams have punched their tickets to the playoffs, and you have to believe that the winner of this game will be the odds-on favorite to win district. Good luck.
  15. Winters is a horse. I hate that y'all down have more kids on your team, as many kids as y'all have enrolled. 41-21 BC, :35 left in the third. BC ball after an LCM fumble.
  16. When my mother-in-law says "we do that al lot, don't we?" after our third false start, you know we aren't playing with much discipline.
  17. Nah.... some of our points were gifts. LCM is going to give us a good game, and if we come out sloppy (like we have done in the past), we'll be headed back over Cow Bayou with an "L." Also, if Winters is able to run all over us on Friday, you can bet money that Silsbee will do it to us as well... worse, though. This game will tell us a lot.
  18. It's a little early to call it a "must win," but if LCM loses tonight they'll have to take 2 out of three from Huffman, Navasota, or Cleveland.... that's a tall order if you've already lost to Silsbee and BC. Same thing goes for us. An LCM loss would put us needing to beat Silsbee, Navasota or Huffman to make the playoffs. LCM17 was saying something about switching back to the slot T after last week. I assumed he was joking, but was he? And where is LCM17?
  19. I don't remember that, but I hope they were kidding. The game was a lot closer than the score ended up being last year when we played the bears.
  20. LCM17 is typically the only LCM poster on here, and he's been strangely silent this week. I expect the Cards to sneak out with a win over the bears, but it won't be easy. im surprised at how little excitement there's been about this game.
