  1. Help me understand why he's a racist. His stance on illegal immigration is simple. We need borders. Every other nation in the world has borders. It's just practical. We can't fit all 7.5 billion earthlings within our borders and give them healthcare and free college. It's not possible. Otherwise, i can't see anything that would qualify as "racist" about his positions. I mostly see a lot of "people of color" don't intend to vote for him... So they call him a racist. The word "racist" has been hijacked. It used to mean when somebody felt that one particular race of people were superior to the others by virtue of their genetic makeup at birth. Nowadays it is used to describe someone whondoes't embrace the liberal/progressive viewpoints in their entirety. If I think that a lot a racial group "B"s problems are, well, kinda self-inflicted and not solely the responsibility of the white man and his "white privilege," then I'm a racist. If I disagree with the current president on any issue, the I am, you guessed it, a racist. The term is used to minimalize and marginalize any viewpoint that is contrary to the left's narrative. "Don't listen to him.... He's just a racist. He doesn't understand things the way that I do." So I ask you, without trying to start an argument, what EVIDENCE do you have that this man feels that white people are superior to other races?
  2. Jeez. Don't get all serious... We're just having a little fun. I'll bet that KJ's Dad pulls for us any time we're not facing WOS. These two groups of kids have had good match ups since pee wee ball. It's been awesome to see what a comparable group of kids (WOS) has been able to accomplish with consistent coaching thru JH and HS. No hate over here. Now if you want to talk about Silsbee........
  3. Oh, don't worry about us pulling our starters. Y'all are a dangerous team, even if we are way out in front.
  4. I have to admit. I thought y'all didn't deserve that number one last year with only JD returning. I was doubly convinced after that 14-13 scrimmage win y'all escaped Vidor with against us. So I guess I have been wrong that once. Are y'alls kids looking forward to playing BC again this year? I know our kids are.
  5. Nah. We were picked to finish dead last in our district last year. Two of the teams we beat (Newton and Kirbyville) finished ahead of us in the postseason polls, too. I think Navasota probably isn't actually going to be the second-best team in the state after losing Fedora and a couple of pieces. There aren't sixteen teams in 4A D1 that are better than Silsbee, as much as it pains me to say that.
  6. Rankings are always a joke. Don't worry about it.
  7. 3. They haven't done anything because no NCAA rules have been broken. That was the danger of the rush to judgement after Penn State. Obviously some terrible things were done in both places, but you can't point to a NCAA rule or guideline that was broken. The NCAA was trying to punish Penn State, but had limited ways to do so... So in addition to forfeited wins and postseason bans, the NCAA let student athletes transfer. It wasn't to help the specific athletes, it was to hurt Penn State. Let's be honest... It's one thing for the NCAA to come down on a state school like Penn, who wants only to get the trouble behind them and doesn't mind ponying up $60 million taxpayer dollars to do so, and teeing off on privately funded Baylor, with an army or Baylor Law graduates who support the place with massive donations. 4. I disagree. The players committed to the school, not a particular coach or teammate. Think about it. Limited scholarships for any school. A kid that is allowed to transfer now will end up taking somebody else's scholly wherever he ends up. I mean, is Hudson's pop going to pay for this year at A&M out of pocket, or is some kid who is already enrolled and working out about to lose his ride? Or, will the boosters step up and make sure these hopeful transferees can attend school this fall? The rules are there for a reason. You don't have to play for the Bears. You'll just have to sit out a year.
  8. I did not know that. I'll edit my last post.
  9. Somebody correct me if I'm wrong..... Done, sorry.
  10. So transfer, sit out a year, and enjoy the rest of your college career. Just like everybody else that has a change of heart after signing an NLI. These kids gambled on Baylor thinking it gave them an awesome chance for a ring and an easy transition to the pros. Unfortunately it looks like that chance is a lot slimmer with Briles getting the boot, so they want out. There's no shame in that. Just wait it out and play wherever you want.
  11. Not taking a shot.... It's not a joking matter.
  12. I haven't said anything about any particular school or player, so "no." But there is a high school in Setx that got sued by a cheerleader/rape victim because her accused rapists were football players and the school later had this young lady choose between quitting cheerleading or cheering for the alleged rapists at basketball games. So if your asking me if a particular school in SETX allowed football players accused of rape continue to participate in sports, just like Bayor did then that answer is "yes." People who know the story know what I'm taking about and recognize the hypocrisy.
  13. Be honest. The kids want out because Briles is gone. If Briles still had the big desk in the field house, every single one of the kids would be enrolled. How about if a particular other recruit leaves? Is that a reason to get released to play elsewhere? What if the star QB gets hurt? Is that reason enough to get a release to play elsewhere? I also think that schools should have to honor their offers that are made to kids. It's garbage that kids get their offers pulled or reduced by schools.... That shouldn't happen either. But you have to admit that it's funny when a dad talks to the news about how Baylor should "do the right thing" by his son, because they would have NEVER wanted to be associated with a program that would cover up a rape..... Except that's exactly what the same kids high school program is most famous for. Those kids committed to play foot ball for Baylor. There were no guarantees about who would be the coach, or who would be the Qb, or if they'd be contenders, or any such thing. Honor the commitment you made, or go play juco ball, or sit out a year. Kids the same age don't get to go home from the Army because things didn't turn out like they'd imagined. Man up, boys.
  14. Dude.... Give me a break. Everybody knows that crap happens at schools everywhere. These kids aren't bailing because of the rapes that occurred. They're wanting to leave because Briles is out. No offense, but this area's top offensive lineman would have never played high school ball where he did if he had a problem with football players raping girls.
  15. Thise kids committed themselves to Baylor. Baylor then made recruiting decisions based on these kids' commitments. There are gaps that the school will now have, if these kids are released, that can't be filled this late. There are other kids who might have gotten a scholarship to Baylor if these kids had not committed. If Coach Briles had taken an NFL job or dropped dead, they would still have to sit out a year if they wanted to jump ship. Same thing should apply here. The school and other kids have acted to their own detriment based on the commitments that these kids made. Buy a car and change your mind? You can walk away, but there's a price to pay. Try changing your mind after signing up for the military. What if the Bears still had Briles and started 0-7 next year? Still okay to get a release from the school? What seemed to be a good choice for these young men turned out to not be such a good decision. But a commitment is a commitment.
  16. Lol... "Forcing" them to accept a free education at a top-ranked private university. Poor kids. Here's some wisdom. Life ain't fair and the world is mean. Too bad that one of the coaches got rolled out, but you gave your commitment. Grayland Arnold is playing this right. And I can't stand Baylor.
  17. 1. Bridge City 2. Navasota 3. Huffman 4. Silsbee/Cleveland winner. And.................Go!
  18. Well, Silsbee beat the crap out of us by twenty, but lost a close one to WOS by 21. At least that's how the Silsbillies spin it.
  19. I'll give you a hint.... it was closer than Silsbee vs. WOS.
  20. Can somebody remind me of the score in that one?
  21. That's what I heard as well... We're going to need some kids to step up on D.
