Less than 24 hrs now till kickoff. It's the #1 offense in the district vs the #1 defense (as well as the #2 offense vs the #2 defense) This game has everything you hope to see in a high school football game and more. Good luck to both sides and if things go like I know they can, I'll see y'all back here Fri morning to talk about both 9-1 teams.

I can see why WildcatBacker is upset. Out of the first 26 picks in the pickum contest, people picked EC 25 out of the first 26 picks. He said it was RIDICULOUSLY obvious all of you do not know anything about Kirbyville, or maybe he just doesn't know anything about EC.
Crow receipts needed.
Holy geez purpleeagle. Your whole post was really sad. First of all...coattail riding is kinda pathetic my friend. You need to go console your fellow fans and y'alls 5-4 record. Second...I said most of the people that voted for EC don't know anything about EITHER team, not just Kirbyville. And last, I know quite a bit about EC, as well as Kirbyville and so knowing both teams....I pick my Wildcats in a high scoring shootout like I've said all along. Also...be very very glad y'all didn't play us and/or EC this year or I can guarantee your record would be 3-6. You know it as well as everyone else does. You should crawl back under the porch since you have no dog in this fight, and let the big boys figure it all out.

The game won't be that lop sided for sure! But I think people see that EC is the better team lots of talent that people don't know about, unless you have watched EC all season!!
No, people see an undefeated record going against one with a loss. Most all of the people that chose EC over Kirbyville have not seen either team play and have no idea of the talent on either side. Now I don't fault them for that, but to say that everybody sees EC as 'the better team' is ridiculous because they don't know anything about EITHER team except their records. Last years game also was between an 8-1 Kirbyville team and a 9-0 EC team and we all know how that turned out. Won't be any different this year..
-
The good thing about this year is that there's no point differential having an effect on the game like there was last year. It's winner take all. So whoever wants it most, gets it. In case you're curious..... that's Kirbyville.

Kirbyvilles offense will win this game. EC's defense is great, but they won't have an answer for our speed, or for the number of options we have in the backfield to go to. Defense does not win games when it faces a superior offense. Kirbyville 49, EC 28.

He just understands who will walk away on top come Friday night
Not if he's picking EC..
-
Warren is scrappy, but Woodville will be too much. 4+ score difference IMO. Good luck in the playoffs Eagles!

HeHateMe created his profile today. It's probably Backer so he can talk trash and after it's over he will disappear. Oldest trick in the book.
Dude don't include my name in your drama. I'm here right now talking trash and will be here Sat morning too....win or lose. I don't need a fake profile to hide behind.

Oh man I'm so sorry to the EC fans claiming Kirbyville runs up the score. I just realized they're worried we'll do it to them too. Well no worries my friends....I'll talk to the coaches and see to it we put the backups in earlier.
-
EC by 14, two many holes in Kirbyville's defense.
Our defense won't be EC's concern. They'll score no doubt. Their concern will be how to stop our offense.....and they'll find that's not gonna be an easy thing to do. Kirbyville will take this game in a high scoring shootout.

Wildcat, I was at the Kirbyville vs Buna game and Gore was still throwing deep routes with less than 3 mins left in the game trying to score again, and this was not hearsay I watched the game...
Couple of pertinent facts....Buna was Kirbyvilles only regular season loss last year so they were a threat this year....they scored 26pts against us which is the most we've given up to any team so if you score, we score back....this game was back and forth for a while and we never had it well in hand till late anyway....and lastly, Kirbyvilles strength is the run game, not the passing game. So if you see us running the ball late with all the starters still in, you might have an argument.

First of all, I didn't call anyone classless. Read my post again. You are correct, I haven't been to any Kirbyville games. I guess I was lied to by a former athletic director and head football coach from our district, along with an assistant coach from EC. I still stand by my prediction. I guess we will find out next week. It is strange, however, when EC is up on a team 35-0 at halftime, the final score is 42-7. Kirbyville is up 35-0 at halftime, the final score is 66-7. Numbers don't lie. EC players are told not to humiliate the other teams. Kirbyville only has 20 or so players on varsity? WOW. They better drink a lot of Red Bull.
Further proof that you're speaking without knowing. If you're referring to the Hardin game, we were up 56-0 at half and the final was 66-0. The final TD was scored on a pick 6 (what was he supposed to do after intercepting...fall down?) and then the field goal which only happened because our BACKUPS were too much for Hardin to handle too and got too close. I think this will by far be the best game either team has faced this year...and it could go either way. But just as you mentioned not comparing Kirbyville's numbers to EC numbers against common opponents, if I were you...I wouldn't be so quick to think EC's "stellar, disciplined.." defense up to now is in any way indicative of what they'll be facing next Fri night. Kirbyville's offense is incredible. I mean, incredible. But what the heck...good luck to y'all.
-
Oh btw I feel I should add too that we don't have a whole lot of players on our team overall. 20-something I believe. Which means the 'backups' really are just most of the same players playing different positions. So just because you see a lot of the same players in there late in the game doesn't mean it's the 'starters'.
-
Unlike Kirbyville, East Chambers does not run the score up on weaker teams. Most of the points given up by EC this year were after the starters were pulled, several times at halftime. Kirbyville has left starters in the game into the 4th quarter, so don't be fooled by how badly each team has beaten common opponents. It should be a good game. I think EC will win by virtue of their stellar, disciplined defensive play.
EC 40 Kirbyville 27
You obviously have been to no Kirbyville games and have no idea what you're talking about. We pull our starters just as quickly as EC or anyone else once the game is in hand. It's just that our backups are very talented too and when you're handed the ball, you run. Sometimes it ends up in a score. Never trying to run up the score on anybody. In fact we kicked a field goal on 3rd and goal from the 5 against Hardin last week JUST TO KEEP FROM scoring a td. It's obvious from your name that you're biased here so it's all good. Just show some class and learn the facts before calling someone else class-less.

Warren silents the horn
Only if it conks out from the amount of use it'll get.
-
Numbers 3 and 4 will be Buna, then Woodville. Numbers 1 and 2 will be decided Nov 6th and of course....I'm going with my Wildcats.
-
Kirbyville jumping East Chambers in the poll shocks me
I agree that they should be ahead of us, but I don't think we actually jumped them...did we? I think they started off ranked really low and we started off high and after our loss, combined with their winning, it just closed the gap.
-
Not really sure this thread is needed or will get much attention, but I figured why not start it anyway. I see another 60+ points put up by our offense and another shutout by the defense. Then on to 'the' game.
-
EC plays the Woodville Eagles this week.
EC needs to focus on the Woodville Eagles, the whole Woodville Eagles, and nothing but the Woodville Eagles.
EC plays the Woodville Eagles this week.
Good Lord dude really? This is a fun message board....not the locker room at game time of the state championship. Lighten up and talk some trash. Lol..

I am not gonna give any predictions on the score of this game but there is one thing that I can tell you. There's no way KV puts 49 points on EC unless they just have a sloppy offensive game with turnovers giving up short fields
Both teams are solid on both sides of the ball but I think it'll be high scoring instead of low scoring based on two things...1) Kirbyville has an incredibly awesome offense. Much, much, MUCH better than anything EC has faced yet, so what EC has done defensively up to now isn't a good indication of how they'll do against us and 2) Kirbyville's defense has shown signs of weaknesses at times that I have no doubt EC will find and exploit every chance they get. So no matter how many (or few) points either team has scored or given up, I see this game lasting a full 48 mins of nothing but score after score.
-
Yea I think EC walks in this one, but I'm not counting Woodville out of keeping it close for a while if they can control the turnovers.
-
EC wins this one. Kirbyville's offense is explosive, but defense wins championships. EC won't have trouble scoring and will make enough plays on defense to win
Could very well happen, but EC has not faced an offense anywhere NEAR the caliber of Kirbyvilles. I can assure you Kirbyville won't have any trouble scoring either, and with the exception of getting lazy and allowing some late game trash TD's to several teams after the games were well in hand, Kirbyvilles defense has been just as solid. I think this is going to be a great game and both teams will be fired up and ready to play.

Total Points Scored Against E.C. DEFENSE 47
Total Points Scored Against K-Ville DEFENSE 105
Total Points Offense Scored by E.C. 354
Total Points Offense Scored by K-Ville 328
Do your math again. Kirbyville has scored 398, not 328.

Based solely on common opponents, (I know, it means nothing come game time but it's all we have to go on for now..) it looks like EC has the slight edge of having the better defense, and Kirbyville has the better offense by about the same margin. I'm going with my Wildcats in a high scoring shootout, by a very close score...something like 49-42.

No worries. EC is good, but we're better. We'll take it in a high scoring shootout.
