33-21 CS with about a min left

We'll be fine. We're not having a bad year, just not the kind we're used to having. We're really young and inexperienced. It's a reloading year. But heck, if we win the rest of the way out, I'll gladly take an 8-2 season as an 'off' year. Lol.. Especially with the losses only coming to very dominating teams. I'm gonna take my Wildcats by 2 scores in this game like I said earlier, but Coldspring is one of those teams that's much better than their record so we gotta be prepared.

Why are those 2 gonna be out?

in 2011 , 4 teams did not go to the playoffs.
Oh I know. We went as the 3rd place team that yr. I was just making reference to the fact that with a 2-8 record, we shouldn't have been allowed anywhere near the playoffs.

I can agree with you. They weren't the most quality wins, obviously, but they gave that young team a taste of winning, which contributed to their success this year. We can't discount wins and hard work just because they weren't over the greatest competition. They still made the playoffs, which has nothing to do with the preseason schedule.
'Making the playoffs' is such a watered down accomplishment in today's high school football with 4 teams going... some of which are in 5 team districts. In 2011, we went to the playoffs with a 2-8 record. Lol.. What a joke. I wish we'd go back to 2 teams going and cut out this "everybody gets a ribbon" crap. I'm gonna be honest and say though that this yr, IMO, there could only be one team from each district make it and from ours it would still be Woodville. Yall are awesome this yr. And in a district with us and Coldspring, going as the district champ is no small thing. Yall very much deserve it.

Preach lol
Lol.. Sorry. I got carried away. I just can't imagine 'hoping' for a team to get whipped just because they whipped you. Heck, unless we meet Woodville again in the playoffs, I'm gonna be pulling for them from here on out.

Rykerx144 can joke about beating a small school like SA but when someone hands it to them he disappears. What a chump
Dude get a life. Ryker was right. You're riding Woodvilles coattails. Go away and lick the wounds from the whipping we gave you. Woodville would out class you too so you really should just fade away. You're making a fool out of yourself and everyone sees it.
-
Might as well get this going. We're still licking our wounds from the thumping Woodville gave us, but in no way giving up on the year. This game could have several implications. It could be a battle for 2nd and 3rd place in district...or set things up for a 3 way tie at the top. I'm of course picking my Cats to win this (by 2 scores btw) but I'm also thinking Woodville will beat the Trojans too, which would put us in 2nd place in district.

Well, if you lend any weight to the head to head of common opponents, then Liberty will walk in this one. They beat Woodville, Woodville beat us, and we beat Orangefield. Woodville beat Orangefield too. I tend to not go by that stuff but in this case, I gotta pick Liberty.

The good ~ our defense. I know giving up 38 pts doesn't seem like that's a bright spot, but the fact is Woodville's offense is crazy. They execute really well. They line up in a very tight formation, then misdirect who gets the ball, then their O-line opens up huge holes. They executed this to perfection all night and their score looked as if it was heading towards the 60 or 70 pt area. We just flat couldn't stop them it seems most of the time, so the fact our defense only gave up 4 TD's was a bright spot. (Their other TD came on a pick 6)
The bad ~ Our O-line played by far their worst game ever. Blocking was a joke. Woodville's defense was good, but our boys seemed to not be as fired up on the line as they should have been and it showed. We stayed out of sorts the whole night.
Woodville was the better team, by far, but nobody expected this to happen, not even most of the Woodville faithful. Trust me, they have it together this yr and can do some great things in the playoffs. I'm gonna watch and be rooting for them the rest of the way.

Great sportsmanship from Ryker and Wildcatbacker. Kirbyville will rebound and be back, don't give up on them !! We are just on a hot streak and hope we can keep it going I have watched a lot of K ville playoff games in the last 8 yrs....they will be back. Dang that turf and field looks as good as the Eagles right now ?? I'm hearing now that Buna has a QB that's 6'5" 360 and runs a 4.3 ?? I've had fun with this blog and good luck to K ville the rest of the season. Cmon Eagle 32 you got to find the faith dude, you cant be scared in football.
Thanks brobie. This was fun. If we meet yall again in the playoffs, let's do it again. Lol

This is the most solid, disciplined and talented football team I believe I've ever seen Woodville produce. I sorely underestimated them. Many people did, but they won't now. If I was to suggest anything to Woodville, it would be to add the passing game in. Yall didn't need it against us because your run game was unstoppable. But even as solid as we are, we're a young team with a lot to learn. You'll run into teams in the playoffs though that aren't as inexperienced and can bottle up that closed in formation you run with your offensive line, plus cover any outside runs, and will force you to pass. But honestly, I was impressed last night and I'm rooting for yall the rest of the way.

Woodville is much better than anybody expected. MUCH better. Nobody over estimated Kirbyville, we all waaaaaay UNDER estimated Woodville. Enjoy this win Eagles. This was yalls game from start to finish. We had 2 sure TD passes that our QB over threw, and then he also throws the interception taken back for a TD just before half. But even if you factor in those mistakes, we still lose easily. Woodville, congratulations. You have a heck of a team this yr. Enjoy it. It feels good don't it? Lol

Explain the sweep?
Us sweeping the floor with Woodville maybe?

Woodville lost by 40 last yr. I'm thinking they may be able to close 30pts of that gap, but not enough.

I think Kirbyville will win but after reading all of these posts I would sure like for Woodville to win it.
That's a very odd and peculiar thing to say. I respect you rooting for Woodville...no problem at all with that...but your reasoning is off. There have been an equal number of trash talkers on this thread from both sides. I don't see where Kirbyville posters got out of hand any more than the Woodville posters did. But hey, we all know what they say about opinions.

If there's one thing I hope for with this game (besides no injuries of course), it's that it's free of any freaking controversy involving the refs. I watched a game between us and Silsbee one yr that was by far the most frustrating game I've ever seen courtesy of the worst referee crew ever assembled. Silsbee was the better team, and they won on the scoreboard like they should have, but we just absolutely could... not... catch... a... break at any point long enough to know if we even should move for fear of having a flag thrown. It was ridiculous and I'll never forget that game. It works both ways though. The only time we ever beat WO-S (2010), there was an OBVIOUS offensive pass interference on our guy that wasn't called, and it resulted in a TD. Our guy basically threw the defender to the ground, made the catch, and ran about 60yds for the TD. It was so obvious in fact, that when he caught it and took off, no one from our side cheered right away. We just knew it was coming back. Lol.. But, it wasn't called...the TD stood...and we won. The good thing is that we won by 2 TD's so that one wasn't the decider, but it still bothered me the way it happened. I hope that kind of stuff doesn't affect the outcome of the game this Fri.

And here I was trying to be civil.....
Smh. I see what you're doing there...
But I guess you're right. The "Paper Champs" still have some proving left to do. Just to throw this out there though.....that Liberty team would beat Kirbyville. And yes, I've seen both teams play.
I see people make this claim a lot when they lose. My response is and always will be......Maybe they'd beat us, maybe not. We'll never know. One thing's for sure though....they did beat Woodville.

Ok I just looked and I did give a score prediction earlier of 42-35. Dang I'm good. I was only off by a pt from my crystal ball. Lol
-
I'm ready to make my score prediction. Up to now I've only said Kirbyville by a TD, or one score, or something along those lines. I just looked at my crystal ball though, and it said.... Kirbyville 43, Woodville 35. Don't dispute my crystal ball either. You'll have bad MOJO for many coming years.

33-21 was the final. We had some key players out, plus Ty seemed to be suffering from a wrist injury most of the game, yet we were in it all the way. I hate the loss but I'm proud of our team. There was no give up or give in. We need to regroup and salvage what's left of a mediocre season.
