Kirbyville.

I don't remember the exact yr, maybe 2005...but Shelbyville was in our district and they were 5-0 going into their game with us. We were 4-1. They were cocky and very disrespectful. When their players ran out onto the field, they all gathered on top of our wildcat logo in the middle of the field and started jumping up and down on it. Then when we were playing our school song they were loud and obnoxious and taunting our side the whole time, never stopping to show respect. When the game was over, we had handed them their first and very well-deserved loss to the tune of 60-8. I hope they learned their lesson and show more respect to their opponent than they did that game.

They were 1-3, with losses to Henderson and Orangefield just like this year, but last year they lost to Tatum and beat Bridge City. They flipped the wins/losses in those 2 games this year.

I have no clue either. They don't deserve to be there, and especially ahead of us. I don't know why Kirbyville stopped getting votes but we did after week one. We went from #6 in pre-season, to #11 after losing in week 1 (which I understand) but have kept falling from there every since despite winning and other teams losing. I honestly have zero clue what these voters are going on at all so I'm just gonna give them the respect they've given some of the teams that deserve to be there.......none. 

And to think I used to have respect for the AP rankings. Smdh

Anahuac is having a pretty rough season so far and Kirbyville is starting to hit their stride. I say Kirbyville by 3+ scores. 

I'm not sure what this is supposed to be. Surely not your picks for how the district will end....??

I see the top 2 in the 4a/3a poll swapping places, and Newton dropping some, but not much else changing. IMO

Idk why our coaches chose to score over kneeling it but I didn't think it was the right call. I don't fault the kids cause when you're handed the ball and you find an opening, what are you supposed to do......fall down? Lol.. Of course not. But if you noticed, the Lions kneeled it to end the game so they were conceding the loss. Oh well, it is what it is. There's worse travesties in football I guess.

No repeat of last year I'm afraid. Newton is better than their record no doubt, but I predict they'll be 1-4 come Sat morning. Good luck to both though and please for the love of all that is holy....no injuries!! This year has been worse than some it seems for kids getting hurt. 

This shows your total ignorance on who you're talking to. I am and have been a coach my whole adult life. I know about making statements. 38-14 was enough with less than a min to play. 

It took us a little while to get going but it all started clicking finally. I have to be honest and say I don't understand going in for that last score with less than a minute to play and us up 38-14. We should have kneeled it. That's just my opinion though. 

Lol.. You kinda did but it's all good. Orangefield is tough and y'all are starting off rough like you did last year. It's nothing to hang your head about. Newton always finds a way and will this year too. Good luck.

Wait, hold up....I thought the refs cost you the BC game? You're starting to get your excuses mixed up hoss. Lmao

We won't be tested again until the last game against EC. Each win from here till then will be by 3+ scores. Good luck to the rest of the district though in the hunt for the other 2 playoff spots. I think it'll be Woodville and Kountze, in that order. 

I'll answer....yes. Now y'all MIGHT be able to beat Woodville. But even then it'd be tight if Woodville brings their A game (not the team that showed up against Deweyville) Everybody else ahead of you in the rankings would beat yall. You have, in fact, played one of them. How'd that work out for you?

Lol.. Ok if you're gonna just randomly say things as if they're true, I'll do it too. Kirbyville and Bridge City ARE better than Newton. BC beat y'all, and Kirbyvilles loss to the common opponent (BC) was by a smaller margin. Also, 2-2 and 2-1 records are better than 1-2. So if rankings matter to you...and they clearly do since you're on a rankings post crying about not getting any love despite LOSING...then what I mentioned above is all anybody can go on. And based on it, Kirbyville and BC are better teams than Newton and should be ranked ahead of them. You want to jump us? WIN!! Quit losing, and quit crying...WIN. That's it. Geez....you guys are getting pathetic with your freaking whining. Your cheerleaders should start throwing pacifiers in the stands instead of those little footballs. 

Well if the playoffs are what matters to you then quit crying about the rankings while you're losing.

Wind was blowing from the wrong direction....There was an odd number of fans in the stands....Orangefield's jerseys were too orange....ummm, the turkey legs weren't cooked all the way. (just giving a few Newton posters some pre-set excuses in the ungodly event they lose this game. They've already used the refs, lack of home field advantage, and the inability to hold on to the ball so I figured I'd help out with some new ones. Of course if they win, then all is right and well and as it should be in the galaxy)
