Might be biased here but I see Nederland surprising some folks this year!

Nederland should be in the mix for the 2 spot in district, if they improve defensively from last year & get a couple other pitchers to pitch as solid as Corcoran then they could give Crosby\BH a run for the top spot. 

That's on Barrow. 

Ned O-Line & RB #13 playing well. Ned. Defense playing decent. QB #9 inaccuracy, fumbled snap  & throwing 4 interceptions is killing scoring opportunities

Two words no one wants to here , daddy ball,  just go to a practice and see for yourself, coach's son had more targets last year than one of the best athletes to ever wear black & gold, think about that , that's a big reason why you have kids leaving....

This brings up an interesting question:  Was this choice the best possible choice?  Or was is purely nepotism?  Thoughts?!

The crazy part is that Friendswood had a much better team talent wise last year.

Yeah I was looking at them last week. You sure are right nederland did okay them very close and well compared to others. imo I still think Nederland BH PNG Crosby and etc district is still considered one of the hardest baseball districts in the state for 5A. 

B.H.- Jace Martinez hits go ahead grand slam in top of the  7th with score tied 2-2 to put B.H. up & claim 2nd seed with the win.

Basketball program had a pretty good year making it to the regional quarterfinals.

Giving the dawgs coach one last win over png for a playoff spot would be a nice addition to this seasons  team

I agree.  Going to come down to if Ned can swing the bat and get runners to cross the plate.  Struggling at the plate.  Time to get out of a slump agaisnt the cross town rivals!

Nederland should have the pitching advantage with Corcoran in this win or go home game

Baker pitched well for Nederland. Too many errors on the infeild to give a good team like Crosby extra outs

A little story about the brothers Pat and Mark.
One day in the weight room at the field house at Silsbee High School, Pat was about to attempt to break the school squat record. (don't remember what the weight was at the time). Several kids were getting all excited about it and gathered around to watch the attempt. Pat was successful and the kids erupted with joy. One of them ran outside and saw Mark walking by and told him his brother just set the new school squat record. Mark came in to join the celebration and saw the bar still set up with the record breaking weight. He walked up, got under the bar and squatted it twice. The coach saw this and asked if he would like to be on the power lifting team. The rest is history.
Pat was a senior and Mark was a freshman.

Dang.  They can hit the ball for sure but didnt see that result 

I thinks it could be a little bit of everything you mentioned. It’s a problem when smaller schools have more kids try out for the baseball program then Nederland did the past few years as well. In my opinion Nederland needs a overhaul. Been living in the past to long! It’s time for a new era of coaching and kids to step up and make something happen. Not going to happen reliving the past or blaming kids. Starts with leadership/culture of athletics and the kids will follow.

Been alot of head scratching by many for sure on line up & game situation moves last couple years 

2 years in a row!!  They bring In Baker and he does his job!  When will they trust him!?
