You can't coach speed. There is no substitute for it. Wos is loaded with it. The qb for celina broke his arm.  Wos won the game and deserved to win the game. We could what if it all day, but the fact of the matter is wos is fast as hell and has no telling hoe much speed coming back. And the seniors next year will have played 32 games in 2 years. I am proud of them for winning. It was great to watch. They will be so fast next year, you may not be able to blink. 

I don't know anything about how he was treated, but I do know he was there for a long time and Ned was pretty mediocre the whole time. 

With all due respect, lets quit talking about the past.. Lets look towards the future... I see PAM as a Lumberton type of contender in the district. With less coaching....

i see the district getting better with PAM, despite my views of the overall area. some posters hit the nail on the head. Xbox will be the only person stopping PAM from being competitive. you guys saw the film. if Ketha Jones starts at QB, PAM will have the best qb in the area. if daddies boy start, i can see PAM being the 3rd or 4th place team. PAM still have to find a defense. PN-G AND NEDERLAND WILL POUND THE BALL!! ozen and central, just keep doing what they do. a win is a win, but due to the above(coaching and poor defense), ozen won the game in the last 60 seconds. not sure what they have at RB next year, i just hear he's legit. they do have 2 legit WR's. i do think, to a point, it gets a little easier for xbox, if he stays, to game plan. no disrespect to the district, but can you really compare game planning for nederland to northshore?? pn-g to laporte? just naming these since PAM has played the bmt schools in the preseason. to be honest, i really think if you put ANY team from the 21-6A in 22-5a, they would be a HUGE factor(sorry sterling stays out of the convo). while we at it, LP was the smallest school for awhile. i don't think this will hurt nederland. if PAM is good for two years, it will help nederland. the same way it has helped them in the past.back when PAM was going 3 deep in the playoffs and having globs of talent, the kids that wasn't getting time, went across the hwy and became legit starters. so if PAM go on to be really good in the district and that back up qb gets no time or xbox start his high school sweethearts kids or homeboys kids over a more talented kid for any position, nederland gets better. you heard it hear first and I PRAY THIS GETS BACK TO KENNY RAY. IF KETHA JONES DO NOT START IN 2016, NEDERLAND WILL HAVE THE BEST QB IN THE AREA COME 2017, HIS SENIOR YEAR.

I've got a solution for you... send those kids to Neumann.  He'll use em right, work their butts off and we'll call it a Mid/South County State Championship.  Seriously, Neumann runs such a freakin brutal program, that's how he makes players out of bodies that walk in.  Not to say Nederland doesn't have good players, because they do, but they are not athletes that should be playing at the level that they play without the PROGRAM.

Lots of factors involved in a successful football program, and you make a few points. However, artificial playing surfaces are a luxury, not a necessity. Most NFL teams play on grass..... So many intangibles to success, and so many things have to fall in place to get to the top....Much less stay there.

One thing nobody else has mentioned, take a look at teacher pay around the state. Typically school districts around the major cities are going to pay more than those out in the boondocks. If you are really good at your job, don't you want to go work in places that will pay you 10-15k more for doing the same thing? 
I do not put it on the coaches at all for why setx is lagging behind other areas. It takes a village to build a football program. That means kids from stable homes that can handle adversity and overcome it. Kid's whose parents don't make doctors appointments during practice, who don't take family vacations during football season, who don't tell their son at the dinner table that his coach is an idiot and he doesn't have to listen to him. Families who make sure their kids do their homework and keep their grades up, kids who eat decent meals every night, kids who don't have to take care of their younger siblings all night and all summer because their mother has to work two jobs because their dad is long gone...the list goes on forever. There are a ton of great athletes in HISD as well, but those teams are seldom competitive, those kids just can't overcome a negative home life enough to provide the level of commitment it takes to have a great football team.
Look at the teams that are left playing in 5A/6A and I bet you'll find that those towns/cities are the type of places where
1) there are several college level athletes
2) they are communities where most of the student body will be high middle to upper class economically

Coaching plays a part in it, that is fact. We won't compete with the bigger districts year in and year out. You have to have the right combination of players, the right coaches, and some luck. There are great teams all over that didn't win state. The areas that are growing by leaps and bounds are doin well these days. New school opens and semi like they get pick of the litter. Setx is not growing at all. Actually it seems to be getting smaller. It is gonna take a special group and the right ingredients to win it all. That does not happen very often

Fan88, there are some who think Nederland and PNG coaches are the reason they got manhandled... then there are the other 99% who saw a physically dominant team walk into and out of the Berry Center with a W.  Nederland honestly barely stacked up against the GR 2nd team.

Setx can't compete with the big area schools yes they have talent at certain schools every now and then some schools in the area get far in the playoffs but that's about it you can't blame coaching for everything you have to play with what you got just my opinion

It's hard for me to take a jab at crosby because I can't remember the last time we beat them. They were very good in my opinion. It is scary for a team to beat them that bad. Good season cougs. Hopefully we play yall next year.

Would not be surprised at all to see GRHS win state. I didn't see Crosby but that being said I haven't seen that much speed, size, and talent in a long time. Hats off..

I haven't seen crosby since we played them this year, but George ranch was on a different level tonight. They were fast and physical. If there are teams out there better than them, I would hate to play them. 

Should just count district games, not really a good comparison due to differences in non district scheduling.

Try to be reasonable.  Nederland and PNG are good teams.  Central average.  Lumberton was not good.  Crosby is very good.  King, Dayton and New Caney are good.  Everybody, including Crosby could get beat this week.  But I do believe that Crosby is the only team with a legitimate shot at winning it all.

Any way you have to digest it to make yourself be "better". All we heard was how NC was the best 4th place team in the state because they took Crosby to OT and played Dayton down to the wire. You know what? You can throw all that crap out the window because my Dogs handed it to them. It is why the games are played. I don't look to other districts for credibility, especially when their predictions aren't.

They have so many bullets in their gun that it will be a nightmare to prepare for them. These kids have played a ton of games the last couple years. They are also battle tested. I look for them to be playing long after this week is done. I like great football and there may not be a tram like this in the area for a while. Good luck.

He will be the guy, we don't have to laugh or wait and see, He needs to touch the ball every play next year, will be a dangerous offense in Nederland again next year.

That was Central's chance. King was ripe for the picking but as has been the case so many times lately in these games, 21-5A just makes one or two more plays. I don't think coaching was an issue at all. 
Good season Central, and I mean that with no sarcasm. 

it is s nice for sone one objective to make that statement,  I consider the Dogs 5 time straight outright district champs for that very reasoning
