I guess the funniest thing about trash talk in this district is that the people that run their mouth the most are usually from the worst teams. Nobody from cleveland and coldspring get on here to talk trash for their team, it's always LIBERTY, Tarkington, & Shepherd. Get over yourself and your team PANTHERPLAYER. It's one thing to support, but another to make ludacris statements about how good a team is when they are obviously on a decline. Enjoy that "great" season that plays on over and over in your head while the rest of us watch history repeat itself.

I agree with you that HJ wins this week against woodville, but I don't understand your statement about the Cleveland game. Now I have played golf before, where I made better contact with the ball than my score indicated, but I don't know how thats possible in football. If you get in the endzone as many times as Cleveland did and keep the other team from getting into theirs very much. . .then it was exactly how the score indicates. Not starting a battle, jmo. i see what you mean, but what i meant was that a couple of clevelands TD's were scored on long breaks a few of them just lucky that they broke.. where as HJ had 3 or 4 plays similar to that where if one more tackler had missed or one more block made then HJ scores 3 or 4 more TD's.. just not quite there.. and despite the score being 35-7 HJ hung with cleveland all night.. also i like what HJ fan said.. HJ was picked as the major underdog to lose by like 40-50 something.. and it was only 22-7 at one point then cleveland scores one in the 2nd half and then one late in the 4th to make the score look like HJ got dominated... So HJ really did A LOT better than everyone thought they were going to do Well said! HJ is going to be a lot better than MOST PEOPLE expect. World beaters?. . .No, but better than advertised?. . .I think so.

They are on the 9th JV post. . .I think Cleveland's freshman won and the JV teams tied. Not certain, but pretty sure.

Well it's not completely crazy to think that a JV and a Varsity squad may be comparable at their own levels. The gene pool is the same for both teams. Not this year. And that statement is wrong in general. Many times, a strong soph class will find it's way on the varsity level, depleting the JV. Good try though. MANY times that may happen. . .very good. But as I said before, it is not crazy to think that one may reflect the other, because OTHER times that does not happen. Good try yourself!

Not real sure. Like I said, new coach, and he has been trying some things. However, nothing definite that I can see. Looks a little like a spread of some kind.

Lumberton should definitely win this one, but after all the trash talking I saw about the Lumberton/Dayton "Game" It would be a great night for some crow if HF could pull it off. I'll be cheerin for ya horns!

Huntington plays Tarkington in Tarkington this Friday night for week 0. What do you guys think? Last year the Horns won on a "pick 6" with less than 10 ticks left in the game. New coach, new team. . .let me hear it!

Newton takes this one fairly easy. I saw CC play Tarkington, and although the horns look better than they have in the past I don't know that they should have played the dogs as well as they did. Corrigan must be having a down year.

HJ has a pretty good group of returners and I dont think the margin of victory will be "HUGE", but anyone who picks HJ to win this game is just doing it out of support for their HOME TEAM. No way HJ wins this game, I don't care how close it is.

What I find interesting is look at the score of the first tarkington game and the second tarkington game. Can you guess which one was in HJ?

I have a kid like this and he spent most of pre district play on the bench or in the stands because he felt like he didn't have to listen. Mom and dad think he's going pro though and they said they would show me. well i hope they do... but i doubt it... if he's likke the kids im talking about its a lost cause He is just like those kids, I will never say that I hope a kid who played for me doesn't go pro. Heck I hope he does cause then I'm gonna ask for royalties.

would you want your varsity team playing a jv team because you know you cant compete with their varsity? wow you just dont listen...i said play up for more competition to get your kids ready for the next level i never said play down your just arguing for argument sake. and your absolutely right silsbees jv would beat both of those teams. i think westrbooks freshmen could give hf a game. on a side note i really would like to see silsbee and st thomas jv play each other it would be a great game im going back to what you originally said... i always agree to play up.. but i dont know of any varsity team that would agree to play a jv team... it just wouldnt be right... what if they lost... it would be way more embarassing than losing to a way better varsity team I was personally involved with a varsity team playing a JV. Back in 1980, I was on Silsbee's JV and Spurger varsity needed a game for their homecoming(Spurger doesn't play football, therefore they have their homecoming in basketball) We agreed to play them and well, to make a long story short, we killed them, 122-35. I will never forget that game for many reasons. how dare you aggies... thats unsportsman like and on their homecoming game :D :D shame shame I admit that is way worse than the one we're talking about tonight.
