1. It would appear that Tarkington and Huffman were the only two out of this district to get a win tonight in week zero.
2.
Just wondering where the Tarkington fans are at that said that the Longhorns were gonna bring it to HJ??? :D :D :D ::) ::) ::)
I think the fans running the mouth were. . .well we will just say "on the floor" that night and were either too tired to type or just don't like the taste of crow. There is nothing like missing a prediction when you personally had control of the outcome.  :o
3. I could be mistaken, but I think Bucof2010 said a few days ago that EC would go 3 or 4 rounds in the playoffs. If anahuac beat them by 30 I really doubt they can get past NW or Kountze. Sounds like somebody's jaybird butt can't back up their alligator mouth.  ;)
4.
if u want to talk about good players in tarkington history u have 2 mention ryan brewer he was a beast his senior year he caried  that team averg. 27 points a game.
I think were talking about players that were in ttown before you were born. Maybe you should find a different thread to interject your opinion on.
5.
Cleveland couldn't even shut him down! He had 25 points in the fourth quarter against us. If he has 25-30 coldspring wins!!!
Cleveland didn't lose because of their inability to shut down Allen, they lost because they had an off night. Walker only had one three, Reed couldn't score and two of their guards combined for 49 of the Indians 77 points. Kudos to Coldspring for hanging in, but Cleveland beat themselves.
6.

I dont know if you could see it on the live feed, but you could sure see it from the bleachers. . .the officials SPRINTED off the floor after the game. I don't even think they game their hand signal for the end of game horn. Just tucked tail and blew their whistle on the way out. The lead guy almost took out one of the cameras on the way out. If that isn't self incriminating I don't know what is. I think they were consistently inconsistent and neither team was getting a definite advantage, but either way it was pretty ugly.
Yes, they left the court in break neck speed. They almost crashed into our camera's and broadcast table. I was trying to get one of them to stop and do an interview after the game, but they went into their locker room and didn't leave until the last car left the parking lot. ;D
I don't what they could tell you in an interview AAW, they appeared to be watching about 3 different games at the same time  ;)
7. WOS takes Coldspring I am pretty sure. I have seen coldpsring a few times this year and as long as they shut down Chad Allen its a done deal. Not saying thats an easy job, but with a week of preparation they'll be ready.
8.
Is this the chapter of officials used more in the playoffs?
Do JH girls have playoffs?
9. I don't know about that. If WOS plays bad as they did against OF then you might as well buy tickets to Bellaire/Cleveland  :o. Congrats to OF they played well, but WOS just couldn't get it together.

11. This isn't a football thread, but if you're gonna mention R.Snell. You have to mention Roberts (I think Taylor). That kid was a beast in the backfield. Someone who follows the Horns more closely may be able to verify this.
12. Not confirmed yet, but the unofficial word is EC
13.

actually it was 96-66, not a big difference but for the sake of accuracy.... does ttt stand for TECH TECH TECH...?? the way cleveland came out the horns might have missed a decent chance to win that one, if that was the first time i had seen them play i'd laugh if you told me they'd most likely be state bound, every team has an off night, and maybe they're just not as good on the "road" but that was not the same good shooting team i'd seen before. oh well, anybody know how coldspring/splendora came out? EDIT:splendora lost to coldspring, nm, coldspring losses to cleveland and liberty and two horns wins against liberty and huffman will tie them for 2nd
so r yu trying to say tht we arent as good as everyone says we are
Losing at home to Coldspring may say that by itself.
14. Tarkington has to win out and Coldspring has to lose to someone other than Cleveland if the Horns want a chance at the 2nd place spot. I believe that district 21 is not so cut dry as far as playoff guesses. HJ and Silsbee still have to play in HJ to see if there is a split. Cleveland and (W) of 21, my guess is Silsbee, will get the bye. Coldspring should play WOS and Tarkington should play HJ. We'll see though ;-)
15. After doing some research I found out that the horns beat splendora the first time by 20+. And since then they have pulled themselves from the depths and beat colspring. The saying is "playing at home is worth 10 points" so . . divide by 4, carry the 5, multiply the remainder by the variable and. . . HORNS WIN BY 10+
16. Thomas was definitely a phenom to watch in both football and basketball. I definitely think football was his calling. Great selection though.
17. Didn't see the end, but was informed (trustworthy source) that splendora won it. This makes it a tight race for third place in 22-3A.
18. I hadn't heard that. He put up 25 tonight in the 4th quarter alone against tarkington. I know I know Tarkington, but I don't care if you're playing the school of the deaf and blind 25 in a single quarter is pretty impressive.
19. that basketball isn't their "best" sport. College prospect in football or baseball. Cleveland had "Tuffy" Williams several years ago that went on to play college football, but was a force on the court. This year Coldspring has Chad Allen that is definitely headed for the college gridiron. Whatcha think?
20. I think I am going to jump on the Tarkington bandwagon and cheer for the under dog since so many people dislike them and say they aren't any good. After leaving the splendora/shepherd game. . .boring. I made my way by ttown to see what the fuss was all about. Lucky me I got to see an upset. Tarkington wins 85-83. I almost got it!!! Thats gonna put some holes in a few peoples theories  :o
21. They are definitely a single post team this year, but the run and gun system seems to work pretty well for them. It is less reliable though because if someone has the discipline to get them into a stall game and they aren't shooting well they do not have the personnel to play that style.
22. I will agree with you to a point. They lost Carrington, but Reed has more than filled his shoes (he's been the better player all along anyway IMO)and then they picked up the Walker kid who is good for 5 or 6 threes a game.
23.
BTW, all of those players are not back. Carrington, the '6"5 starter that played the post opposite of Reed, transfered to Atascosita.
So one kid moved off, all of the "PLAYERS" are back.
