  1. I am pretty sure 1956 was the last playoff team, not '59. Just sayin. . .Wish I had the answer though. You would think they have the same caliber of kid that everyone else in the immediate area has. Just seems they can't catch a break!
  2. This is my post from weeks ago and I still have the same opinion. . .stats are just a little off now Hmmmm well PANTHERPLAYA I am sure you already think I am going to choose Huffman just to go against Liberty. . .and I AM going to choose Huffman, but rather than picking a team based on blind pride I am going to let the defense do the talking. Before the Coldspring game Huffman’s defense had only allowed 102 rushing yards (on avg) per game. Since Liberty is primarily a running team ( over 70% of their total offense coming from the ground attack) this gives Huffman advantage point #1. Second Huffman has what has proven to be the best producing aerial attack in the district and since Liberty’s “D†has been kind of sketchy this year Huffman gains advantage point #2. OUTCOME: Huffman 35 – Liberty 14
  3. Yeah I heard the same thing, but they beat Splendora without him. Saw some of last Fridays film, apparently the Pirates had to change some things, but I think they did a pretty good job with the adjustments.
  4. I understand your point, but that is the same thing that gets brought into these types of conversations everytime they hit the board. I am not saying they kids should concern themselves with it, I just wanted to know what the general SETX community thought about it. In my opinion it all comes down to beating Huffman. Liberty won't even be in the conversation unless they pull off some crazy upset somewhere.
  5. Given their current district record and the win over Splendora friday night I would think you have to consider the Pirates as a competitor for the 3rd spot in the district. Any thoughts???
  6. YOU must be completely insane. The Panthers are taking HUGE steps each week. I say they beat Huffman, Tarkington, and Shepherd. And I know for a fact they'll play Coldspring hard. The Panthers have heart and never give up. They are resilient. Tarkington for sure, Shepherd is a maybe, and Huffman is a heck no. Liberty got beat, even though barely, by Splendora, and Huffman pretty much scored at will against Splendora. I am not saying those teams will be the same when they meet again, but I still think huffman is too much for Liberty. Big strides for the panthers though.
  7. REALLY??? HA. . .so quickly you forget. Nick Barber from WB ran for 101 yards in 2 carries against you guys and he's second string. Then King from PAM went off for 122 yards in 6 attempts. And the worst part about that is Livingston's Jackson has more rushing yards on the season than both of those guys combined. Gonna be a long night for the Ozen "D" we go see what he does tonite! Well I guess we saw what he did. Ozen keyed on QJ all night long and he still rushed for 131. However, leading rusher of the night was K.Johnson with 179 yards. Way to go Lions. Way to take it to the "best defense in the district" HA

  10. Ozen is having a hard time getting the offense going with less than 1000 yards of total offense this year. Not to mention their rush "D" is not getting it done either. I have to take Livington in this one and Q. Jackson busts out for over 200 on the ground.
  11. If you want to look at it that way I am. Splendora will not compare to Coldsprings speed nor do i think that they will be as good as their "D". And the question you asked later in the discussion if it was directed at me, if i was actually at the HF game against Liberty, yes i was. The game would have been different if HF did not fumble so many times (which is props to Liberty's D). So since Huffman had their way with HF and Splendora struggled with Liberty I do not think Splendora will hang. Not to say I do not think that Splendora will not do well in this district, I just dont think that they compare well with Huffman's offense. But thats why they play the games, so we will see Friday night. I agree we will see friday night. But I didn't direct any question at you??? That was rammerjammer. Just to clear things up And just for curiosity sake how did Coldspring work its way into this?

  13. Okay they run the same offense lots of teams run the wing-t but they don't all have the same record. Plus team wise, Splendora has been to the playoffs several times in the last 5 years, even had 2 back to back undefeated district seasons. . .and HF has been to the playoffs ???? Yeah thats kinda what I thought. BIG difference between those two teams. And didn't Huffman end the Splendora's unbeaten home district streak with a beat down last season? ??? I am pretty sure that is correct BigCal. I never said Huffman didn't beat them, just that HF and Splendora are not comparable skill wise. And after watching the Splendora/Chavez game and then the Huffman/Coldspring game I just don't think Huffman can beat Splendora. I may be surprised, this district has turned into more of a toss-up district than it has ever been in the past. But I still think Splendora pulls this one out.

  15. That's a pretty strong statement against an undefeated district champ Indian team that didn't graduate anyone.
  16. You're comparing Splendora to HF, REALLY??? HA HA HA . . .comparing those 2 is like comparing the varsity team to the local pop-warner. I really hope Huffman is expecting Splendora to be comparable, because if they do this might get outta hand in the Wildcat's favor.
  17. Pantherplaya would love to see this. Liberty can beat ANYBODY. . .you don't believe it just ask him. Kentucky called. They're all glad your not there. I could do without you on this forum as well. I heard Alaska is starting a new forum, its called "guys that have no life and love to talk about people who actually have pride in their teams" forum. join. Whew good one. . .you show improvement!!! That showed higher intelligence than most posts However, I support team pride, but yours is called overzealous. People wouldn't ride you so hard if your predictions were just a touch realistic. Pick Liberty to win every week if you want, but when you predict them to RUN OVER people every week it gets a little. . .I don't know PREDICTABLE. And besides it has yet to happen.

  19. Splendora takes this one. . .even IF the huffman receiving corp shows up.
  20. EASY!!! It's called not wasting effort. You just use what you need to win. Coldspring has no grudge and no reason to bury Shepherd, but they will do what it takes to win (not too terribly much) and they will EASILY win in a CLOSE game. 42-35
  21. I think most of us would love to see Shepherd win this game because they are seeing a little success and some would like to believe that a state championship team is just going to rise from the ashes where there was nothing before. But lets be real, last week Coldspring was ranked 15 in the region, right behind Cleveland who was #14. Sooooooo "BACK TO REALITY" Coldspring wins this game pretty easily. Score may look close, but easy win for the Trojans none the less.
  22. IF??? Check out the stats yourself. The internet is open to anyone. That's obvious cause YOU can get access. Chavez is ranked 4th in Region III.
  23. HA HA HA HA give the kid a break jdb! You know he's just some kville tuba player that knows nothing about football, but decided he would get on the boards and run his mouth a little. He's got no clue what he's getting into. Just trying to get rid of his "freshman" status by posting anywhere he can get a word in. 8)
