Like I said... I think it would have been easier to delete an individual comment as opposed to the entire thread. But hey...whatever. I guess I didn't see the comment that you're saying was a baseless allegation about Coach Stark. Honestly, I was hoping the truth would eventually come out about why he is no longer employed there. So then...I could really start my defense as to how exactly he was supposed to win with obviously very little talent. Relevant to their competition anyway. And be my guest. I implore you to try to find any post I have ever or will ever make that isn't on the side of coaches when referring to coaches specifically. Go ahead...look as dubiously as you wish.

Just curious... So every statement on this entire forum is one of which that was made by official findings? Because I personally see a lot of stuff on here that is presumed to be fact but not necessarily supported by any proof.

I would like an explanation as to why. Nothing was said out of line...or personal. Just like this one. In fact, there were a lot of comments praising Coach Stark as a coach and as a person. So tell me why that deserves to be deleted. Is this not a public forum where members can talk about games and events in regards to area school? I would say that Hardin having a coaching change merits conversation.

I enjoy defending coaches on here. I had a whole thread worth of comments ready to be argued...and then it was deleted. Why delete the original thread?

I guess the original thread was deleted. There's another one but I'm sure it'll get deleted too. Just in case...I figured I'd try one more time to let everyone know that I feel Coach Stark is way better off to not be at Hardin. I think it was a no-win situation from the start...

There is a fan I avoid. I take that back...I avoid all of them. Fans are the reason I don't go to high school events very much at all. Even when I had kids involved, I stood off to myself. Football or basketball...the moronic outbursts are too much to handle. I'm not saying all fans are bad...the percentage is too lopsided. I think people should have to take a test before they enter, and make people sit in areas according to their score.

good grief. Some of my picks were close games and screwed me. This season is turning out to be terrible.

Rankings are like swimsuits. They can be fun to look at and all....but they don't really show you anything.

Haven't quite made up my mind on this one. I can say I'm losing all confidence in Coldspring winning this district. Having said that...I believe this game will decide 1 and 2. My gut tells me WV will win...but still undecided. I think this has the potential to be a close game...and close games are absolutely killing me on the pickems. We'll see. I never decide my picks until Thursday usually..but I'm leaning toward WV as of now.

100% true. Select used to mean that you paid to try out...and only the ones that were selected were able to play. But like you said, it's become so watered down that it doesn't mean select anymore. Now it means that if you pay, you play. It's sad. When someone tells me their child plays select ball I try my best not to roll my eyes. I can't guarantee that I won't And then everyone always says "well our select league isn't like that." I'm afraid it is.

Yeah I panicked. Usually, 1 or 2 games doesn't hurt me on the pickems. But this year I'm doing terrible...so every game counts. I decided to go with the smart choice. That way...if Evadale loses, we will still all be about the same because I don't think anyone that's beating me picked HH. As far as HD...huge line and a bunch of seniors (relative). Plus I think they got a transfer from an Aldine school maybe...that's supposedly pretty good. I still think they'll get 3rd in district. But yeah they're playing good.

And let me just add... I've never considered a person a coach if they aren't being paid to perform the job. I'm not saying that people that are in the position of coach do a poor job if they aren't being paid, I'm just saying that if they aren't being paid then there is no system of accountability. If it is a paid position, then you can lose your job if standards aren't met. As simple minded as the standards may be at times...there are still duties that have to be performed in order to keep the job. Youth coaches are volunteers. I think it's great that people do volunteer...and I think there are some decent ones out there. But...if the kids learn nothing. No problem. Kids learn bad habits. No problem. Kids don't win a game. No problem. Well...there obviously is a problem. But youth "coaches" do not get banned from coaching because of any of the above statements. A coach being paid to coach...is a goner if those requirements aren't met.

It seems worse the younger the kids get. College is fine. High school is terrible. Subvarsity is worse, junior high gets worse still, youth is a nightmare. "Daddy ball"...several youth coaches trying to relive glory days through a kid that couldn't care less. And since they "coached" junior...they think they have a say or an opinion when junior starts playing school ball. It's turned into such a trainwreck that it's getting sad.
