  1. I could care less. But a question came up in another thread that I was curious about. The question didn't belong in that thread...so I'll put the question here. Here's an interesting quote I got from it: "Just so you know the number of kids that got the opportunity to play ball at the next level since Foreman has been there is 2013 team - 12, 2014 - 13 and 2015 -9." That's 34 kids...with 2 more committing to a D1 school already recently. So...why isn't this obvious talent converting to wins? Specifically, playoff wins. (Just keeping good on my reputation)
  2. Must be my Sometimers acting up again. Getting old is a hell of a thing. The point was that the game's were played down here as a result of flipping home and home. And had there been a nice turf stadium to use, that particular school would've benefited financially. I think Lumberton going turf could potentially fill that roll. As I think Silsbee could as well. Both are pretty decent locations being on the relative northern part of the SETX area.
  3. Most schools are good at something. Usually boils down to "what do you want to be good at?"
  4. Maybe the board members and community members have hired private investigators and FBI detectives to find out which of the 2 finalists make kids run the most. Or try to find out which yells the most. Can't have a repeat of the last regime.
  5. Well..if you hear that they were going to win state next year, then you may be correct. I heard the same thing.
  6. Here's your big chance...all of you sideline heros out there. I'm sure they would count little dribbler / youth / AAU as coaching experience. Get out there and show us what coaching is about.
  7. Yes, the main issue one may run into as far as hosting playoff games is the fact that geographically SETX is really a midway point for anyone. Reason being that most SETX schools play schools from outside of SETX starting as early as round 1. However, it could be a good location (Silsbee) for a school that decided to flip for home because of not being able to decide on a location. That would probably be more feasible. I know a few years ago WOS played Carthage at the Montagne Center.
  8. Turf fields pay for themselves over time. Water, mowing, paint, maintenance, etc...That's including a practice field. Because with a turf field...you don't need a practice field. Plus the money you spend on man hours doing those necessary jobs. Plus the fact that turf fields are weather resistant...isn't there more rainfall in this area of the state than anywhere? Just saying. Plus the potential for extra money (hosting playoff games). Silsbee would be an ideal venue due to the size of the school plus location. I don't know of very many coaches searching the state for a grass field to play a game on. I'm sorry...but it's more about ignorance than anything. If taxpayers knew the amount of money they would eventually save, every high school would have a turf field.
  9. That's what I've been saying from day 1. Upgrades go WAY beyond new athletic facilities.
  10. Nobody is saying that this wasn't a great year (football) for SETX. WOS for one should be very proud of what was accomplished. But I'm not going to pretend that the previous 10 years should be wiped away. Can it continue? Yet to be seen. But I'm still believing that as a whole, this area does play second fiddle due to being behind the times. Like I said though...I'm seeing more and more glimpses of trying to catch up all the time. And it goes further than just facilities. You're right though...I thought Celina was going to win that game. I was wrong. I think the outcome would've been closer if not for the injury...but not enough to overcome the speed of WOS. Definitely wasn't a good matchup for Celina. So funny to me that so many people on this site assume I'm just an outright SETX hater. I'm just trying to provide an answer to a question. Why does SETX have so much individual talent, yet so few state titles? (recently) You guys just don't like the answer I give...not my problem some people can't face reality.
  11. Not for a second. I was merely making a point to WOSgrad that this field or any other wouldn't make a difference in how...I for one...feel about setx being behind the times. Would take more than a turf field.
  12. See what?.. You said setx would be considered behind the times for not building one of these. I've said setx is behind the times since I've been a member. A field like this has nothing to do with it. Facilities is just one part of the equation.
  13. There are a lot more reasons than turf fields that go into why setx is behind the times. But it's slowly happening. Few and far between...but happening nonetheless.
  14. Actually I just said that name because that's the reason this conversation was deleted the first time. I truly don't know...just stirring.
  15. What are the chances the new AD makes the kids do jump squats...ever? lol
  16. I doubt it would do any good. Doesn't seem that any admin on here has ever admitted that anything I say has any merit. I'll just go back to being the community jerk...and continue infuriating people for saying what no one else will. have a good day.
  17. Well, at least 1 admin (not to mention any names) knew about it because they were right in the dead middle of the "off topic conversation". That...like I said...went on for several pages. All I'm saying. Why can't off topic posts just be removed? Without getting rid of the entire conversation...
  18. You quoted my post before you "simply posted the rules regarding slander or rumors". Why wouldn't I think you were referring to that post in regard to slander and rumors? By the way...when this thread was deleted the first time for being "off topic" people were having a conversation about a coach that may or may not be good for the Woodville AD position...which is what the name of this topic is. The thread that I was referring to...for subsequently being "off topic"...is still alive and kicking over in the basketball forum. Hasn't been a post recently, but it wasn't deleted. Nobody is saying you guys aren't appreciated for doing what you do. I know I get a kick out of this site. But if the staff of setx is going to delete threads for being off topic...do it to all of them.
  19. Please underline exactly what it was that I typed that you consider rumor, suspicion, or slanderous. I simply pointed out a thread that started off as a conversation about 2 basketball teams that were playing in the state finals game....and literally, the last 2+ pages of a 17 page conversation were about a few individuals setting up a golf game for money. Then...talking about the history of Silsbee golf. Including posts (about Golf) by setx admin. I encourage you to review that thread and tell me that I'm wrong. Then please review my previous post and point out to me exactly what words I used that were against forum rules.
  20. This thread was off topic for literally several pages. Including posts from setx admin...so...we picking and choosing what's allowed to stay on topic? Not that I care...because I really don't. Just immediately thought of this thread when the other "Woodville AD/HC" conversation was deleted for being "off topic". I was actually enjoying that other thread before being hijacked by a few guys that decided to talk about who had the better golf game....and then turned into a Silsbee golf thread. Just saying..
  21. [Hidden Content] Honestly...better than I thought. But still bad. Really bad. My guess is that the admin salaries aren't great either.
  22. I wouldn't go to a hospital in Beaumont to ask directions to a different city's hospital. They should put a funeral home in the parking lot of their hospitals.
