Iola is at a huge disadvantage playing these two the last two games of the season back to back. Had they been spread out, I'd think Iola wouldn't have a problem beating both of them. But the district schedule they got will make it tough.

You didn't put in the scenario if Liberty beats WOS... lol!! I'm sorry.. couldn't even type it with a straight face.

So you're thinking Iola will beat Evadale this week then HD next week? I'm not saying it won't happen.. But I believe that Iola may not quite as good as I (or anyone else) originally thought. I'm not saying they aren't good. I'm just saying that I was very surprised by both Evadale and HD this season. I think both are good enough to make it a very competitive game with Iola. Having said that...Iola has the too toughest games of the season back to back. That's tough. You may be surprised. I picked Iola to win today....but I wasn't very impressed that Iola only beat Colmesneil 40-12. I don't care what the circumstances were (barring ending the game early)...that's not very good in my opinion.

Well for the sake of the school maybe you should run for school board.

Well if you've lived their 50 years then you've seen first hand the blatant disrespect the coaches at Hardin get from year to year. And you may be on the front lines of the absolute zero community support. I'll give you a little hint. It's not the coach. And when your town blows through coaches like people change underwear...it causes the younger kids to have numerous different head coaches, expectations, accountability, coaching philosophy, strength program, offensive and defensive scheme....and so the cycle will continue. Every time you guys run off a coach the younger kids suffer because there isn't any consistency. It doesn't matter who coaches. Go through the list of applicants and pick the best one. After that...do what it takes to keep them around a while. If not...hey...y'all have been terrible for the better part of a century. Why change now.

I have a lot of contacts in the coaching community. I know more about it than you think.

No you're right. Hanging on to the ball is part of the game. But I know for a certainty that every year a team wins a state championship that may not be the best team. Teams that shouldn't win find a way to win all the time. That's the beauty of competition..knowing that it's possible to win. But here's what I expect from now on. When any single person says "we should've won" or "we could've won".. I expect everyone else to say "nope. That team was just better"

....I know what the score was... Are you slow or something? I KNOW HJ WON. I ALSO PICKED HJ TO WIN. I also know that the better team doesn't always win. The game could have just as easily gone the other way. It is possible to have control of the game and not win in the end. I was told that HJ couldn't keep Liberty from moving the ball...but they kept putting it on the ground. I don't know..I wasn't there. Doesn't matter.. Yes I know HJ won. We will never know what the results will be if they played again..because it won't happen. Like I said already. All we can do is speculate based on scores from the same opponent. Which doesn't always prove anything...but I'm betting that Liberty plays WOS a lot better than HJ did. smh...

Listen, guy. I seriously couldn't care less who won or lost this game. I'm not making an excuse for anyone... In my opinion, Liberty was looking past you guys. Why? Who knows. I do feel like they were distracted (most likely). They still should've remained focused if they wanted to win. I don't care either way. I will say again...I feel as though Liberty would win if they played again. But they won't. I had a buddy at the game and he told me Liberty had 3 or 4 unforced turnovers. Including one that gave HJ the ball in the last minute. I was told Liberty had a few hundred yards on the ground but kept coughing the ball up... so something happened. Again... I don't care. I picked HJ in my pickems. All I did was give an explanation as to why.

So you can't think of a single example of a team with more talent losing? I'm not saying HJ doesn't have any talent...I'm just saying that if these two play 10 times, Liberty wins more than they lose. Having said that...HJ played well enough to win when it mattered. On that same note. I think Liberty will give WOS a slightly better game than HJ did. But it will still be ugly.

Liberty is actually better than HJ in my opinion. But this game will still be as bad as WOS wants it to be.

Very ironic that he disappeared this season.. Because they're playing well.

I'll be honest.. Liberty definitely had a good enough team to win this game. In all honesty, they probably should've won the game. Let me run some reasons by you that may have contributed to the close game and eventual loss. Last week Liberty joined WOS in a ranking of some kind...which is most definitely a first for these Liberty kids. Then...a buddy of mine told me that Liberty's town "fair" was last week and that the kids didn't even go to school half of the week. In which case several of the kids most definitely slept in every day they were out...and probably stayed up late. Then I see this guy coming on this site and talking about the Liberty/WOS game... I'm not saying that all of the kids were overlooking HJ. I'm not saying the coaches were overlooking HJ. But...somebody was. And if one person was, chances are there were a few more. That is a lot of distractions for a bunch of 17 year old kids. And to be honest...that's why I picked HJ to win in my pickems. Not that I'm the guru of predicting high school football games. But my reasons panned out in this instance.

No question. The ironic thing is that his team is having a great year and he's nowhere to be found.

Still no TexasPanther2012? Maybe I have that affect on people. HDBobcat55 hasn't responded to me in over a year...

Can't say enough how glad they should be that Stark is gone. The season could've been embarrassing had he still been in charge.

I can at least thank him for the pick. His overconfidence caused me to go with HJ...for spite.

I was going to pick Liberty. But then all that back and forth with TexasPanther2012 reminded me of how people get over confident. So I went with HJ.

I was just using context clues. All I said was you should be talking about the HJ game...and not the WOS game.

I'm not a WOS fan. But I'm almost certain that I said this wouldn't be an easy game. And...that WOS shouldn't even be in the conversation. Just saying.
