  1. Liberty beat Orangefield. No idea of the scores.
  2. Iā€™m not an expert for there or any other school. I just have close friends in the profession everywhere. Even still.. I would never claim to know what is fact on a situation I wasnā€™t involved with. Cry louder? Yeah.. ok. Youā€™re seemingly butthurt about it. Ex player? Parent? Sounds to me like he dodged an enormous bullet by getting out of there. No matter the details as to how.
  3. Yet, there you go. Taking what "they" say as the gospel truth. Actually, the only thing that's fact is that you seemingly don't know any of the details to which his contract ended. Since that's the case, it'd probably be wise to not act as if you do.
  4. Sometimes you gotta be careful you have correct information based on what "they" say.
  5. If HD takes your advice.. the number of games they win/lose will not be affected much if any. Itā€™s dependent on numbers and talent. Or lack there of. My money is on a massive pillow fight for the district with first round exits across the board.
  6. If even a single #4 seed beats a #1 seed then itā€™s justified.. and it happens every year in every sport. Realistically, the 4 shouldnā€™t beat a 1 unless the 4 is in a good district or the 1 is in a trash one.
  7. I have no problem with 4 teams going. I have a problem with small districts. There are several circumstances of #4 seeds making runs in the playoffs. That alone justifies it. By the way.. record has nothing to do with it. Winning 8/9/10 isnā€™t always difficult with many of the trash rotten districts in this SeTx coverage area. Donā€™t be offended.. if there were more schools making it past area it wouldnā€™t be the case.
  8. That wouldnā€™t be bad. At least being able to practice when itā€™s raining would help tremendously.
  9. Well an indoor facility is a different conversation now isnā€™t it? How many SeTx schools have access to something other than walking through situations in the gym? Other than an actual indoor practice facility, schools without turf are held hostage to the elements. Even practice fields.
  10. The comparison of high schools having grass fields to professional teams having grass fields is beyond absurd. Pro teams have seemingly limitless money needed to maintain said field. And.. nobody uses the field except the team on game day. Do pro teams practice on the game field? No. High schools donā€™t have that luxury. I prefer a PROPERLY MAINTAINED grass field over turf, but SeTx schools canā€™t do that. Between weather and money (lack of) turf is the way to go down here. Or.. keep your, ā€œIt was good enough for grandpa so itā€™s good enough nowā€ mentality and keep losing to out of area teams that can actually practice the day after a storm. No skin off my back.
  11. I have no doubt that intense work wasnā€™t put in. Thatā€™s true with every professional athlete. There are tons of huge guys that didnā€™t make it because of that very fact. Not hate whatsoever. You also canā€™t deny that had he been 6ā€™1 with that same work ethic, Ozen doesnā€™t win it that year. Donā€™t misconstrue my point.. the player (including his size) that he turned into was an integral part.
  12. Did I say he did it by himself? Iā€™m just pointing out the obvious that itā€™s definitely beneficial having a future pro athlete. He didnā€™t win it by himself.. but they probably donā€™t win it without him either.
  13. Bucket list? To each their own.. I guess. My bucket list definitely doesnā€™t have Chester Football Field on it. Iā€™m leaning more towards skydiving or swimming with sharks. But Chester could be fun, too.
  14. The state is in a serious bind. Iā€™m not sure how many of the schools will function.. much less function efficiently.
  15. Do you have any idea how many schools need teachers right now? She and any other teacher could probably go wherever they want.
  16. Iā€™m on the fence.. simply because ā€œslow playingā€ is often used as a means of strategy for high school teams that lack offensive abilities. I do believe a shot clock would help the game in many situations but make not so good basketball teams lose games by even more embarrassing numbers. Teams that have good teams and/or good players donā€™t hold the possession for longer than a shot clock period anyway.
  17. It seems like folks donā€™t understand the costs of things. Typical.
  18. Surely you jest. Remember.. heā€™s not athletic director. Iā€™m not sure if he can hire anyone.. at all. Hopefully heā€™s at least in on the interviews and making suggestions. But..
  19. They missed 3A D2. They will never be 2AD1 with anything remotely close to the numbers they typically have.
  20. Transferring for athletic purposes. Thatā€™s why those deemed to have done so are barred from varsity competition for 1 calendar year. Itā€™s not difficult to get around, though.
  21. Iā€™m sure Art Briles would bring a championship by the time these JH kids graduate. Sorry.. I couldnā€™t even finish typing without laughing.
  22. It happens everywhere. Bigger ISDs have the luxury of apartment complexes that can be a new "permanent address" at the drop of a hat. But it's not unique to the metroplex. What I have suggested previously is to make all transfers sit a calendar year regardless of the reason. That would hurt some but eliminate the illegal transfers. Anyway.. just my opinion.
