You're proving my point that people will complain no matter what. Coach T would have well deserved it. It is still relative to expectations. Coach Matthews took a team that was not projecting by many to make the playoffs and they won a co district championship. It's why Nick Saban/Bill Belicheck don't win Coach of the Year every single year. I did not choose the team or coach. But making it seem like the pick didn't make sense just sounds spoiled.

Lol it's not my Super Gold anymore, just trying to give some insight on the process. Truth be told, it doesn't matter who is picked, someone is always going to be mad about it. If anyone has a perfect process to pick these teams, send it in lol. But congrats to everyone who made the Super Gold team and to WO-S.

Something interesting I observed: I went to the 8A state championship here in Florida. Attendance was 7,125. But at the Florida state championships, you can only buy tickets for each game, it's one buy one and stay in the whole day. Not saying FL would outdraw TX in state championship attendance, I don't think that. But I do think attendance is helped by fans being able to stay for all games and just have to pay for one.

I just want to say good luck to West Orange-Stark, the team, coaches, fans, staff, everyone! They set the standard for high school football in that area and just keep doing it! I don't know anything about Sweetwater, but I know if WO-S plays its game, they will repeat! Wish I could be there in person, but I'm rooting hard for them nonetheless.

I'm not justifying it. It happens. It's life. There are WOS offensive players that deserve, that I'm sure of. They're going to the state championship, I'm sure they'll live with not being 1st team Super Gold.

Um, yes, I will say it was supposed to happen. They came into the season ranked number 1 so there were quite a few people that expected it to happen. And who excluded Coach T from winning it? I'm saying that the award sometimes is based on relative expectations. If Coach T was awarded coach of the year I'd have no argument at all because he has done an incredible job of managing high expectations and still not losing a game. But don't make it seem like this team's success was unexpected. That's not even close to the case.

You complaining about not having more WOS players on the team is like Lebron James complaining about not being named MVP every year. He could make a great case for it every single time, but it's not going to happen. And, a lot of times, the Coach of the Year vote is made relative to expectations. As great of a season as WOS is having, pretty much everyone expected it this year. Coach T winning coach of the year last season, when WOS was expected to be "down", is kind of what I'm talking about. But I realize people will complain no matter what. Oh well, what can you do.

Vidor has to scheme their way to stay in/win games against teams that have much more talent (i.e. Crosby, PA Memorial). Credit to Coach Matthews for doing it consistently.
