  1. It's scary how good WO-S is this season. I wish I was there to see at least one game of theirs.
  2. End of the 3rd quarter: still 35-7 Newton
  3. Maybe if they're a freshman or sophomore. But if I have to transfer from one part of the state to another or into Texas from out-of-state and I'm a senior or junior, why should I have to sit out because some people don't like when people transfer?
  4. But then you're punishing the legitimate transfers by making them lose a year. It's nearly impossible to legislate who is transferring and for what reason.
  5. I covered that game lol, I don't remember the exact call but you're right, I do remember one questionable call that the H-J fans didn't like.
  6. This kind of reminds me of the buildup surrounding the WO-S/H-J game in 2014. Hawks were 8-0 going into the game I believe.
  7. 1) Baytown Sterling 2) PA Memorial 3) Dayton 4) Crosby 5) New Caney 6) Barbers Hill 7) Humble 8) Lumberton 9) Bridge City 10) Liberty 11) Henderson 12) WO-S 13) Orangefield 14) Crockett 15) East Chambers 16) Coldspring-Oakhurst 17) Newton 18) Woodville 19) Evadale 20) Shelbyville 21) San Augustine 22) Kountze 23) Deweyville 24) Hull-Daisetta 25) Central
  8. I knew that there were, just couldn't remember exactly which ones. Even in the NFL, they have Sports Authority Field at Mile High Stadium for the Broncos (although I'm sure that will change given Sports Authority shutting down.
  9. I don't know about high school but in college there are a few stadiums like that (i.e. Bobby Bowden Field at Doak Campbell Stadium for FSU)
  10. Wow. If it's who I think it is, she's already slight of build so any hit would be bad. Sending my prayer her way.
  11. Last year, Bridge City beat Newton by 5 I think. But BC did win.
  12. Texas has roughly 7 million more people than Florida, so more depth shouldn't be anything surprising. The quality is very similar. I never said they have the same type of football. But the talent is equal. Call it heresy or whatever you want.
  13. Last year, Venice beat Stephenville 37-8 & Allen beat Viera (7A state runner-up to St. Thomas Aquinas). In 2013, Venice beat Plano 35-21 and Stephenville beat Dillard 46-32. 2012, Booker T. Washington beat Cedar Hill 40-21. 2011, Cocoa beat Dallas Skyline 36-20. 2010 had quite a few. Looks like it's been pretty even between FL and TX.
  14. Generally speaking, stadiums in Florida aren't as lavish as what you see in Texas or even Georgia. I don't know the exact reasons why, but oil money could be apart of it. Also, the school districts here go by county, not city like in TX. So I can imagine it'd be much harder to pass individual school bonds here. Plus, they just put more resources into extracurricular activities in general in TX.
  15. I believe his family moved to the DFW area and he was looking at Southlake Carroll and maybe other schools outside of Aledo. One way or another, the rich get richer as they say.
  16. Wouldn't the booster club pay for stuff like jerseys? Or is it actually the taxpayers?
  17. 1) West Brook 2) Dayton 3) Barbers Hill 4) New Caney 5) Lumberton 6) PN-G 7) WO-S 8) Splendora 9) Bridge City 10) LC-M 11) Orangefield 12) Bellville 13) Coldspring-Oakhurst 14) Liberty 15) Huntington 16) Woodville 17) Newton 18) Hardin 19) San Augustine 20) East Chambers 21) West Hardin 22) Deweyville 23) PA Memorial 24) Bellaire Episcopal 25) Evadale
  18. Sorry to get off the subject of the title, but calling the coverage area "Golden Triangle" would be the opposite issue of calling it Southeast Texas. Correct me if I'm wrong, the Golden Triangle is Beaumont, Orange, Port Arthur? Well that would leave out all of Hardin County, Jasper County, Newton County, and a little bit more. They won't be able to please everyone.
  19. I could quibble on the order, but all in all it's a good list. Wish I could be there for a few of those games!
