Whether players should get paid is immaterial I'm sorry to say. The point is, the way the rules are constituted right now, if they do get paid, it's an impermissible benefit and an NCAA violation.

So from what I see you're not allowed to have an opinion on Tony Brown unless A) it's 100% positive or B ) You're paid to report it. I read one of the reports that the suspensions could have to do with impermissible benefits. But regardless of what it is, the whole purpose of a message board is to have opinions on subjects. Not everyone will agree with everyone's opinions on subjects. That's the point. I understand why you're defending Tony but he's done something.

The PN-G ISD web site has a job posting for two football coaching positions so I guess it is true. Doesn't say for what positions though.

Silsbee is bringing in a new coach and they have to break in a new QB. Navasota is losing a lot but they are also known as a program that reloads as opposed to rebuilding. They return a 1,200 yard running back, an 800 yard WR and 3 of their top 5 leading tacklers back. I'm not saying Silsbee can't win the district, I'm saying Navasota is the favorite until they are knocked from the top.

That district runs through Navasota until someone beats them. It's already been said, but PA Memorial seems poised to take a big step up going from 6A to 5A.

Man, everybody knows exactly what the coaches are doing on the sideline. And during the week to get ready. That must be how someone can determine that there's no strategy by a coach from the stands. Good thing there aren't stands at everyone's jobs for people to come and watch and criticize. Nederland will always be a factor, until the week comes that they are mathematically out of the district championship race. But that doesn't mean other schools don't have a shot. Even Nederland lost to a team the last couple seasons that no one thought they would. They're far from perfect. But they do a damn good job coaching up the talent they do have. I'll be following from FL and hope it's a great district race.

I disagree. While I wasn't at the game tonight and can't explain why she did what she did in this game, I've seen her get more out of teams in seasons that they were not projected to win the district. Off the top of my head, she's one of the top 3-4 girls basketball coaches in SETX.

She's already been a phys ed teacher at the school and she played football, albeit not mens football. So why is this such a lock to go 0-10? I don't get it.

I'm not sure about Brunson, but Uncle Luke has been a defensive coordinator for some good high school teams in Miami. So I wouldn't be so quick to assume a winless season just because of names.
