I am shocked by the number of people that seem to be unaware that Coach T was there from the very beginning. That was his team long before he was the head coach. We had a brief period when he left and then he came back. We saw what happened. The proof was in the pudding and some folks can't see it. They will learn now. Plenty of schools in the area have had horses over the years. There was a reason for the consistent success and it wasn't just the athletes. The slow degradation cometh and the legacy is about to fade. It will be slow enough that it'll be gone before people realize it. Like anything else, all good things must come to an end.

Why don't you go to his house, look him in the face and ask him then you'll know. Problem solved.  C'mon, you're the man. Problem solved.  Then you can go on to something new to stir up and snivel about.

Certain small circles have made some racist claims about CT.
If as you say, the term suspect refers to a criminal, it does not single out a race. If a coach from another school. say one with a majority of white athletes, were to use the term "suspects", would it be racist? I assume not. So because of where CT coaches, his comment is racist? Reality is my friend, you have twisted this into a race issue because of the race of the athletes which in turn makes you the racist.

Sma. I think it's funny that someone from LC-M is giving advice to WO-S about what they should and shouldn't do. I was talking to a WO-S ex just yesterday and the Mustang mile came up. He said sure it was a beast, but that was why they are running in the 4th quarter, not jogging.  No doubt the Bears had a great season in 2021 but since you were born full grown last year you don't have a clue. If they would take off the gloves and quit worrying about the Joneses, whom they cannot beat with or without recruiting, they might be competitive every year instead of every ten.

It's all about matchups ATM. I think the Mustangs are going to be a problem in the Belville problem areas. The issue with the Belville offense is when you run into a team that can stop it. That 86 points a game can go to nothing real quick. What will you do? Yes, I've seen Belville has completed some passes but, as I say every year at this time, there's a big difference passing when everything is working and passing because nothing else is working. Reece and Briggs are some horses, no doubt, and we could very well loose this game. But, I do know this will be the best team Belville has played this year. May not be the best WOS team they've ever played, but they don't have to be. They just have to be good enough to score one more point than Belville.

This will never be the answer. Teaching like coaching should be performance based but teacher unions dictate their wages and benefits. Head football coaches are usually the ADs and considered administration. Assistant coaches (who also teach) wages are more in line with teacher pay. So, teachers can make more money if they do more than teach; i.e. coach, teach music, tutor, drive buses, etc., etc. It's just like any other JOB in the USA. My daughter has raised her salary by doing these things, continuing her education and moving up in the food chain. That's how it works.

What people never take into consideration is that coaches also teach!  The majority of them also coach more than one sport.  That takes them away from their families and their workload is unreal.  Granted, AD/HC's are paid administrators.  Most of them ALSO have to take care of the junior high personnel.  Yes, there may be a campus coordinator, but they answer to the AD.  AD oversees all athletic programs, attends most every game in every sport, works 12 months, and is pretty much on call 24/7.  Teachers do not make enough PERIOD, but to compare their salary to a coach, HC/AD is apples and oranges.  Until you are closely associated to the coaching profession, it is hard to comprehend.

No, thankfully I have not required the services of MD Anderson.
I really appreciate the well wishes and prayers and while I have to deal with it I don't swell on it.  As you and ATTITUDE have demonstrated, I am not alone on this site that has or is having to deal with serious (some even more serious than mine) health issues.  I know of many here who have dealt with serious health issues and while mine to me is life or death to me, it is no more than yours or theirs are to you or them.  And the rest, even while they may not have issues with health, they have issues that are in their lives, very serious to them.
So you all are held in my prayers that you are provided the strength to deal with whatever obstacles life throws at you.

That gives PG opponents a winning percentage of .539 and WO-S opponents .583.
If you take out the losses to PG and WO-S out of those records: the opponents records are 95-66 for PG (.590) and 84-47 (.640) for WO-S.
Either way, the argument from the PG crowd that they have played a "tougher schedule" than WO-S fails miserably when a calculator is put to the numbers.

WOS/Carthage is a good game any year.  Wish they could play this year.  IMO Carthage is the best 4A team this year regardless of division.  But WOS would give them a great game.
And a WOS/Manvel game would end up like the last time WOS lost a game.  They got manhandled by Richmond Foster.  WOS don’t have the depth to beat the better 5A teams anymore.

Isn't that what they said last week when we played Wimberley?  Salado? Madisonville? Mexia?  Remember when they were gonna shock the world? It is the same as last year and....well... the year before.
This team has seen the spread, the Wing T, the Slot T and just about every other variation in between.  They have faced defensive juggernauts, special teams juggernauts, offensive juggernauts (are at least so we were told) and every other juggernaut in between.  40 straight times they said it. 40 straight times they went away saying "What did we do wrong?"
And with the 2017 version, they don't have the explosiveness of the last couple of years, the Chain Gang can be bent a little, but this team may be more mentally tough than the first two versions.  They can, as we have seen, take a punch to the mouth, get back up and punch back.
Who knows, they may get the fatal blow to this streak next Friday, but me, I steeled myself to that possibility for the last 2 1/2 years.
But somehow, I don't think that will happen then, either.

Last year most thought the SC was a lock (including me).  This year?  Well we all knew you'd be good - that's a minimum at WOS, but to have so many new starters step up and play Mustang football has made this years team even more special.  So in the SC game, step it up one more time.  Man, everyone in the area should be proud of y'all.  Here in Evadale, I'm Mustang Proud!  You CAN do it.  One more win!

WHat a team. What a town. What a program. What a great group of kids. WHAT A GREAT SET OF COACHES. Way to go WOS. This Indian is so very proud of you guys.

You can drip all the sarcasm you want but i guarantee you that if Ennis had had to sleep in a hotel 6 hours away back in 2000 instead of playing in a place where they had already played 3 or 4 games, PLUS only 30 minutes away from them, West Orange-Stark would have one more State Championship ring on their fingers!

In my opinion?  The team having to disrupt their normal gameday schedule the least has a decided advantage in any contest.  Is that advantage ALWAYS enough to get a team to victory? Of course not.  In some games, one team has enough of an advantage talent wise that they would win if the game were on the opponent's home field.
However, such games are few an and far between when you are talking about a state championship title game.  Teams at this point or so evenly matched that even the slightest of advantages may make a difference.  Coaches recognized this as any time the site was determined by a coin flip before the current one venue format, very few championship 6A or 5A games were played outside of DFW or Greater Houston.  So to get on here and say that a team having to travel much more than another is not at a disadvantage is disgustingly ridiculous.
And to state that one area of this vast state is ENTITLED to host the championships any more than another is equally so.
