You're taking over a team that struggled mightily last year, you don't get the AD title, and the politics are more important than your results. The only pro is that you'd be a head coach. Which is worth it for a lot of assistant coaches looking to get their foot in the door.

I would not brag W0-S, I think you have only played HJ 8 times and only won 8 times. Good luck throughout the playoffs. Humm, seems like a few weeks ago, I heard a few WO-S people complaining about old fashion coaching.  I say you have the best coach in the state

These coaches are blessed to have talent that is natural. These young men have dads, uncles, brothers, and such who mold them into awesome football players. The have role models such as E. Thomas, K. Smith, Cole's dad and others who play a big role into motivating them. Yes you are correct coach T is a fantastic coach, but it takes more than that.

Granted, HJ is undefeated, which is impressive, and you can only play the teams on your schedule. Having said that, Tatum is 4-4, Jasper is 5-3, Center is 2-5, Kountze is 3-5, LC-M is 5-4, Orangefield is 5-4, HF is 4-4, and Kelly is a 4-5 Catholic school. It's not the most "cupcake" schedule, but it's FAR from "pretty tough." The best winning percentage among them is .625. Yes, they beat Tatum, who beat Newton. WO-S beat PN-G, who crushed Tyler Chapel Hill, who beat Tatum. All of the "we beat X who beat Y who beat Z" is so irrelevant that it's ridiculous. It's all about matchups, and there are certain teams whose skill sets match up with ours - teams who are always a threat to beat us even when we're flying high (Jasper, Newton, etc). If WO-S was coming in to this game with Cole at QB and Rutlege still on the team, this would be an easier win. Jack is doing REALLY well out there for anyone - much less a sophomore who was thrown in at the last minute. I don't care who you're playing - going 12 of 13 for 329 yards and SIX TDs is pretty dang good. I wish I could be there for this one, but it's Halloween and I'll have the kiddos. GO STANGS!

I have made a recent friend on this board to whom i enjoy hearing from. I also call him Unc, Liltex because any man who offer you beer, bbq, and dominoes has to be your uncle or cousin. Well that's what Tupac said, we been missing him of late and need to hear his voice.
You know life is short to hold grudges and the season is almost over, we need to end this how we started. A group of voices who only matters on the board, because neither of us plays a down. Get up Bronco and start bucking we ready to ride with you again.

Why was this information withheld? Why is it coming out just now?

The Bush administration could have saved itself countless troubles, and could have probably saved the Republican party from severe beatings at the polls in 2006 and again in 2008, had this information been made public. The fact that it wasn't made public, in spite of the obvious political damage its being withheld would do, leads me to one of two conclusions: either the information was withheld for strategic reasons of immense importance, or it was withheld for ulterior motives.

I have trouble believing it would be withheld because of ulterior motives, in part because no possible ulterior motives come to mind, and in part because ulterior motives are normally political in nature, and the politically savvy thing to do, obviously, would have been to release the information. That means that this information had to have been withheld for strategic reasons.

If it was withheld for strategic reasons, what are those strategic reasons, and why have they suddenly been disregarded?

I have a gut feeling this has something to do with Russia.

I have been on almost since the start of setxsports. I too got off at one point because I felt at that time the rules did not apply to everyone. To much cyber police. But it only lasted 3 days, I could not stand it. Changed my name and jumped on board again. I don't post as much anymore but still enjoy the website. I learned a long time ago to take what people say like a grain of salt.

Here's my 2 cents, not that anyone cares! Hats off to a Newton team that played a great game Friday night and came away with a Win. Good luck the rest of the season to the Eagles.

Bedelmon, get a life! It's sad that the majority of your post are about WOS. I'm no genius, but I'd go out on a limb and say I doubt HJ or WOS are game planning for each other right now. It appears that you base the entire success of your Hawks on the October 31st game. News flash, win or lose that game will not determine a State Champion which you've already "claimed" for your beloved Hawks. Yes it may and most likely will have a district championship at stake, but you're all over the place with your comments. It appears you get a rise out of stirring the pot and in my opinion many of your comments just make you look ignorant, which I would assume isn't the case.

Not only is the result of this game very surprising to me, but this stat really shocks me:

Newton rushed for 350 yards and only attempted 2 passes the whole night.

    WOW!!!

This post makes absolutely no sense!
If youre physically better than your opponent then youre almost guaranteed to lose?? What??

And yes, getting more reps and practice at something usually does make you better at it! Otherwise, why would anyone ever train, practice, or workout?

Maturity, practice, and experience are all major factors in the success of athletes! Sophomores don't have the game experience that seniors have, and therefore lack the decision making skills and sometimes confidence needed to make split second decisions like should I tuck the ball and run it, or throw it up into coverage.
The size of the school also matters. From a statistical stand point, a school with 3,000 kids has a better chance of finding 22 great athletes than a school with 300 kids. Does it necessarily mean they will win or have great coaching, no. But it increases the odds exponentially of having better athletes. That is why UIL divides the state into classifications, not because West Brook is closer to El Paso than it is to WOS!

Hippy, there will be a lot of threads locked down. There are a couple of posters here that refuse to honestly discuss anything. They choose to come into a thread, crap all over it, blame Bush, teabaggers or Republicans, holler racism, and smdh. Until this ceases, we will no longer have any meaningful discussions on the political forum. All these threads will be locked and the board owner may choose to shut down the forum. I hope not, but wouldn't blame him a bit.

Not I - I will not be quietened at the expense of the sensitive.

It has been stated on here many times, if you want to know where a person stands, look at what he does, not what he says. With that said, I will, intentionally come across as "racist" or "sexist" once i sense one is taking that path with me. However, if one were to look at my work within this community, there are no indications that I have DONE or ACTED in anyway other than fair to all races and/or sexes, etc....SO, if anyone of any race or sex whats to have a conversation with me on any subject matter, I suggest it be fact based and leave the poor me I've been discriminated against crybaby crap out...

I don't care how your grandmother was treated by people I don't know a day ago or 60 years ago....I don't even care if the act WAS without doubt racist...if in fact this cop killed this kid in cold blood...it is none other than MURDER, no more important than if anyone else had killed anyone else............

This crap continues due to terms like "Hate Crime" - WTH is that anyway (I know the definition) ANY crime committed against another is quiet HATEFUL - no need to make it racist...point is, there aren't any racial crimes...it is either a crime, or it isn't, and until we make that adjustment, well....it is what it is...BS

Its actually quite easy to be "offended" if you decide that is what you want. It hasn't been that long ago when I was having a conversation on this board with an individual who is not here much anymore. We were talking about families and the things that are taught to their children. I was talking about kids and used the word "young" ( as in "they teach their young the wrong thing". The conversation immediately changed to accusing me of racism because, by using the word "young" I had referred to families as animals since that is a word oft used to describe the offspring of animals. If one looks hard enough at almost any words uttered by someone else, there is usually a way for someone to misconstrue the statement so as to make the author something they are not. This forces a lot of people to "walk on eggshells" and I believe that is a real shame.

I can't speak for JFF but I'm pretty certain that the Browns weren't where he would like to have gone.  But . . . when you are once considered to be a top 5 draft choice and you are selected 22nd, that Cleveland call was probably welcomed.  He will grow up and he will do it quickly.  His style of play though, concerns me - the reckless running I mean.

I don't have any favs, but I went & saw the scrimmage. Both defenses need more work.Lumberton & Silsbee starting qb's I thought threw the ball rather well. What I didn't get to see was any QB run options.Silsbee had more size on the O/L than Lumberton.Silsbee had more team speed. Both secondaries missed assignments.Alot more passing than running. Both sides had fumbles/ints.Overall both teams to me wasn't alot of differance enuff to say any team dominated the other.I believe both sides saw room for improvement in all areas. It was alot of fun to see action vs another for the 1st time this year.I'd rate the scrimmage as a + for both squads,a few stood out as solid playmakers.Hope both have success in the coming weeks. The Winner was every kid that went out for football.Nice crowd today
