  1. yup, i don't see the commitment to the school... one year and run.  granted, i don't blame him for leaving, but i don't think he deserves to have his jersey retired.  there's more to getting your jersey retired than just being a good player.  i think commitment to your team and school, and also what you've done for that school should play a role.  what did durant do?  he had a great season, gave us all hope that he would return, and then took the money and ran.

  2. this is almost an impossible question to answer.  every school/school district has different expectations out of a head coach.  some coaches may have to win district every year, while some may only be expected to treat the kids right and sneak out a few wins.  There is no particular standard that every coach/AD is held to... like titan said, the community will let you know when it's time.

  3. i like reading each week how yall gain a little more confidence in us it sounds like... but each week its the same story different chapter... ill belive in yall if yall beat ___________. ( insert next opponents name there ).

i know it might feel that way, but i didn't hear anyone say "if ya'll beat vidor, we'll believe in you."  i said it in another post... that game was bad timing.  Everyone knows lumberton is much improved, but IMO most people are waiting to see the central game to decide just how good lumberton really is.

  4. Well  thought about starting a new thread but there arealready numerous Lumberton threads anyway here it goes.

What are Centrals strengths and weakness vs the Raiders strengths and weakness. Lets hear it guys.

one obvious answer to this is that central has experience, and a history of making the playoffs... on the flipside, lumberton's got serious momentum and a lot of confidence right now.

  5. It's probably gonna be Holliday, which I'd be pleased with...but I think Soriano should be talked about a lot more than he is. The Cubs would be screwed without him...

at first glance i would consider soriano as well, but they showed his stats for the year tonight, and he was pretty bad with RISP

  6. ??  It's because there IS statistical representation of quality of opponent that that team with a loss ended up above three teams that are undefeated.  Just because a potentially 5th place team starts off the season going 2-0 by beating the 7th and 8th place teams, doesn't make them better than a 2nd place team that loses to the 1st place team and starts off 1-1.

this makes no sense.  the team in first lost to a team that is upper middle of the pack, and their only win is against a team that will struggle to finish higher than 6th.  nederland beat the weakest team and a team that could make the playoffs, and lumberton beat the defending district champion and the weakest team... i have a problem with a scale that puts a team with no quality wins and a pretty bad loss (at least in years past) ahead of several undefeateds.

  7. lets silence all the hoopla about hj and silsbee hj has nothin back they have burell and thats it. silsbee has a move in from ozen (douglas howard) he is goin to help the tigers alot this year. not to mention the startin supergold point guard from last year. plenty of shooters brady byars, shannon robinson, mikel willis, and not to mention the startin quarterback jeremy johnson

starting quarterback?  he must be good at basketball.

  8. The only clear cut run of the table for 3A or 4a imo is WOS. They have beat the suppose to district champs in Kirbyville.

In 4A, I see only Ozen and Vidor completely out of the picture.

i think you can count out lcm.  in order to make the playoffs they're going to have to pretty much win out, and i don't see them beating dayton or nederland, and also they should lose to a much improved lumberton team.
