yup, i don't see the commitment to the school... one year and run. granted, i don't blame him for leaving, but i don't think he deserves to have his jersey retired. there's more to getting your jersey retired than just being a good player. i think commitment to your team and school, and also what you've done for that school should play a role. what did durant do? he had a great season, gave us all hope that he would return, and then took the money and ran.

Huge one for Lumberton Friday.
COOP, do you ever sleep? ;D

this is almost an impossible question to answer. every school/school district has different expectations out of a head coach. some coaches may have to win district every year, while some may only be expected to treat the kids right and sneak out a few wins. There is no particular standard that every coach/AD is held to... like titan said, the community will let you know when it's time.
-
why are the two star running backs still in the game with a 42 point lead? i don't know about the backup situation, but it seems like a waste to have a star running back hurt late in the fourth quarter with that big of a lead.

i like reading each week how yall gain a little more confidence in us it sounds like... but each week its the same story different chapter... ill belive in yall if yall beat ___________. ( insert next opponents name there ).
i know it might feel that way, but i didn't hear anyone say "if ya'll beat vidor, we'll believe in you." i said it in another post... that game was bad timing. Everyone knows lumberton is much improved, but IMO most people are waiting to see the central game to decide just how good lumberton really is.

Well thought about starting a new thread but there arealready numerous Lumberton threads anyway here it goes.
What are Centrals strengths and weakness vs the Raiders strengths and weakness. Lets hear it guys.
one obvious answer to this is that central has experience, and a history of making the playoffs... on the flipside, lumberton's got serious momentum and a lot of confidence right now.

It's probably gonna be Holliday, which I'd be pleased with...but I think Soriano should be talked about a lot more than he is. The Cubs would be screwed without him...
at first glance i would consider soriano as well, but they showed his stats for the year tonight, and he was pretty bad with RISP
-
None of them look that good at this point.......No not WO-s either.....
the thread says who has the best chance, not who will win. i think WOS has the best chance... they have some major obstacles, but they are the team with the best chance in SETX.
-
Huh? would anyone have predicted this? not me! should be an interesting series... i'm curious to see if ANYONE can beat the rockies.
-
?? It's because there IS statistical representation of quality of opponent that that team with a loss ended up above three teams that are undefeated. Just because a potentially 5th place team starts off the season going 2-0 by beating the 7th and 8th place teams, doesn't make them better than a 2nd place team that loses to the 1st place team and starts off 1-1.
this makes no sense. the team in first lost to a team that is upper middle of the pack, and their only win is against a team that will struggle to finish higher than 6th. nederland beat the weakest team and a team that could make the playoffs, and lumberton beat the defending district champion and the weakest team... i have a problem with a scale that puts a team with no quality wins and a pretty bad loss (at least in years past) ahead of several undefeateds.

lets silence all the hoopla about hj and silsbee hj has nothin back they have burell and thats it. silsbee has a move in from ozen (douglas howard) he is goin to help the tigers alot this year. not to mention the startin supergold point guard from last year. plenty of shooters brady byars, shannon robinson, mikel willis, and not to mention the startin quarterback jeremy johnson
starting quarterback? he must be good at basketball.
-
nederland, png, dayton/central
-
this is tough to call... neither has lived up to expectations, but both have potential... i'm gonna say lcm by 6
-
my main problem with your system is that you have a team with a loss ahead of three teams that are undefeated in district, including the team that handed them that loss. also by using this system, there is no statistical representation of quality of opponent.
-
game stopped because of weather
as in game called, or game delayed? and what's the score right now?
-
WB is tearing it up!
-
Nederland, PNG, central/dayton

The only clear cut run of the table for 3A or 4a imo is WOS. They have beat the suppose to district champs in Kirbyville.
In 4A, I see only Ozen and Vidor completely out of the picture.
i think you can count out lcm. in order to make the playoffs they're going to have to pretty much win out, and i don't see them beating dayton or nederland, and also they should lose to a much improved lumberton team.
-
I might have to go out and watch this one.
-
HJ at silsbee. many silsbee fans are promising a blowout at home, so i'm curious to see how things actually play out.
-
Thanks for the kind words on Vidor.
not trying to be rude... vidor's own fans are starting threads about how bad they are... it's a down year, everyone knows it. don't take it as a personal attack, take it as me stating the obvious. also, i do realize a lot of the blame is on the coaches.

WOS 70
my beloved hawks 12

hey man, I was trying to give you guys some credit.....not be negative.
I'm not a lumberton fan or a hater, just an interested observer.
-
the timing of this game sucked. the only thing that would have been proven in this game would've been if lumberton had lost. lumberton won't gain any respect from the haters for beating a very weak vidor team. i guess we're in for another week of lumberton fans screaming for a championship and lumberton haters screaming for a blowout loss.
