  1. There are two games left that lumberton should win, and two more that lumberton could win. The other two games, lumberton shouldn't win, but they've shown they are capable of an upset. I'm leaning towards 2 more wins, for a 3-4 record. It's really tough to tell this early, after only one district game, and things could certainly change, but this is my guess that I'll stick by.
  2. Everybody's got a different opinion about Lumberton. Here's a chance for everybody to make a prediction that we can hold them to. If lumberton keeps tearing it up, we can go back to this post and show up the lumberton-haters. if lumberton falls off, we can go back to this post and show up the lumberton-lovers. Everybody's been making noise in all the threads, so i want something solid i can go back to and look at when district is over. You all have your opinions, so answer this: how many more games will lumberton win in district?
  3. rooting for the phils, but it should be an amazing series as hot as both teams are.
  4. I actually like every team in the NL playoffs. I promised my buddy i'd root for his cubbies though.
  5. the only way i'm happy is if they both lose... can you make it happen COOP?
  6. lumberton should win, but i really don't want to predict this game... one team is on a high from a big one, the other team is in a rut. they both have something to prove. i'll say lumberton wins 23-16
  7. Kentucky @ South Carolina Oklahoma vs. Texas Oklahoma St. @ Texas A&M Nebraska @ Missouri Kansas @ Kansas State Georgia @ Tennessee Virginia Tech @ Clemson Florida @ LSU Ohio State @ Purdue Cincinnati @ Rutgers
  8. so basically you're saying that the defense that is on the field this year would only have allowed 7 points to dayton's team last year (who i did see in person) If they're that good, they'll probably allow what, a touchdown apiece to nederland and central, and maybe a field goal to ozen and lcm, and of course they'll shut out everybody else. I've said over and over that lumberton has improved, and that they should be proud of this win. Too many lumberton fans get mad when someone points out that the dayton team they beat this year is not the same team as last year, and also that they're suffering from big injuries. You're tired of "outsiders" discounting this win. I promise you that the outsiders are tired of the "insiders" making this sound like the win of the century. I'm also tired of the 6000 threads about this game, which is why I've gone from giving lumberton credit to pointing out reasons this win isn't as impressive as 90% of lumberton is making it out to be.
  9. I've been insisting that dayton's gotten worse AND lumberton's gotten better.
  10. If you fail the six-weeks, then you have to sit, but if you have a passing grade on your next 3 week report, you can play again.
  11. i don't support a team in 22-4a. i just like football. HJ is my alma mater, and i'll be the first to admit they're the least impressive 3-1 team in the area. i don't think dayton will be the whipping boys, but as of right now, i'm thinking they won't make the playoffs. if they get a lot of these injured players back, and start clicking on offense, then i'll reevaluate my stance, and be the first to admit that they're better than i originally thought. my feeling is this... it's obvious that lumberton has improved both on offense and defense, but has their defense improved so much that there was a 48 point difference in points allowed to dayton in one year? i think it has to be a combination of lumberton's d improving and dayton's offense either not being as good or at least struggling greatly right now. Dayton, prove me wrong. I'll be the first to congratulate ya'll.
  12. you're the type of lumberton fan who hasn't gotten on my nerves, if that counts for anything, b
  13. I was happy for ya'll at first, but now i'm just sick of hearing it. sorry if the win has been lessened by the 46 threads about it. and coop, i still don't feel that the number of teams should be raised to 4.
  14. good point. how about anyone who wins a game (against dayton) in district makes the playoffs.
  15. no. half the teams from a district should not make the playoffs.
  16. it already seems like they've been losing forever... but i'm sure they'll make it in the next few years if they keep steadily improving.
  17. i think since the lumberton win, the only people that still have dayton in the 1 or 2 spot are dayton fans, and lumberton fans who want their win over dayton to be the win of the century instead of just a really nice win.
  18. ok, ok, the upper middle . i'll amend my previous post to include pn-g with the four other teams, and say that lumberton needs to win 3 out of 5.
  19. i don't think you can make any judgements based on records at this point. i'm not bashing lumberton, but their wins are less impressive than nederlands (in fact, it could be argued that their wins are less impressive than png's losses). i think it's going to hinge on how lumberton does against the middle of the pack. if they can take 3 of 4 from ozen/lcm/vidor/central, they have a decent shot.
  20. Jimmy Rollins. he set the table for the phils' offense all year... joined the 20/20/20/20 club. incredible defense, incredible offense. a true 5-tool player, who guaranteed a playoff berth, and then delivered. on a sidenote, if matt holliday wins, i won't raise any arguments.
  21. that's pretty amazing considering how badly he was swinging the bat during the first couple of months of the season. he's really turned it around in the second half.
  22. and what a run they've been on! i'll be pulling for them too.
