2. we've had this debate before...
3. it could be like soccer and never move up... the fact of the matter is there just isn't much interest in girls' basketball on here.  the football forum probably gets 3 or 4 times the views during it's offseason that girls' basketball gets during district play.  i'm not trying to take anything away from the sport, just being a realist.
4.
Best 3a team by far is Hamshire Fannett  ;D Best 4a team looks to be Nederland
sounds fair at this point.
5.

Let me first say I am not a soccer fan. I didn't grow up playing it and just don't care for it. My opinion probably stems from hearing people say when I was growing up how it was a "white sport." It always seemed like the kids I knew who played were looking for something they could say they were successful in because they couldn't play football, basketball or baseball. I still wonder if the same kids and parents would care about soccer if their kid had to play behind the most athletic kids in the school. I know some would, yall probably would since you're on a soccer forum all the time. That's really my beef with soccer. It isn't the sport so much as the reason why many people play it.
I really do not see how you can say that about soccer. I understand you are not a fan but your reason was so dumb. For one the whole white sport stereotype is ridiculous. Soccer is one of the most diverse sports. From Hawaiian professionals on the Houston team to Argentina players playing in the spanish league. It is true that there seems to be an abundance of hispanics and whites playing soccer in our area, but overall the world most favored sport is soccer. It is also the most televised of the history of any sports. Although athletic abilities are a great importance, one of the best things about soccer is the fact that it relies heavily on skill as much as it does athletic ability. I have witnessed some of the smallest weakest players carve all over a well built and athletically gifted player because of their dedication and practice. Most people get frustrated with soccer because they cannot play it. Other reasons include narrow mindedness and, like most of my family members, the fact that it is confusing if you do not know how the game works.
i agree with all of this.  well said.  atheleticness helps, but it's not enough.  you can take a pure athlete and he will excel at football or basketball.  on the soccer field he'll be made to look silly.
6. word is he won't need surgery, and should hopefully be back around may.
7. y'all are reading too much into this.  the first sentence of his post was "my take on Ofield".  it would clearly stand to reason that his statements would be about orangefield.  if he'd said "my take on the game", i can see where you might be more justified in your response.
8. good post, good points, but i think it's #2 more than the rest.
9. thanks for the explanation.  i'm glad to hear that the coaches managed to get things back under control.
10.
For those interested the Thunder won tonight 30-19!!!!!  Little Lazeek filled it up with 1 point tonight!!!! ;D ;D ;D  That is gonna drop his season average to about 6!!!!! :D :D :D
they must be scouting and knew they needed to shut him down :)
11. their keeper will be back soon.  he's good enough to keep them in some games where they're overmatched.
12. i can live with that response.  we've had some issues on the soccer forum lately that i'm trying to clear up.  your explanation makes more sense.  give us some info about the game, though.  score?  what happened that upset you?
13. big time win for the hawks!
14.
Where abouts do you hunt in E. Tex?  Nice deer for sure.  Pics 5 & 7 look like the same buck...
avinger, texas.  it's a small town outside of Jefferson.  my uncle has managed the land well, and there are only 4 of us consistently hunting it (and my uncle isn't going to take anything but a monster because he has a west texas lease).  there's also another 250 acres next to us that isn't hunted at all, so deer have a pretty good shot at growing up these days.
15. 54-40, HJ wins.  a pretty nice win considering they were at Orangefield.
16. just watched the Gustafson and-1 mix tape for about a minute until he got a 5 second call.
17. and making free throws!
18. HJ running and gunning!
19. HJ up 47-36.  enjoying the live feed!  Sutherland with 17 points
20. HJ 67 OF 51
21. i don't really understand the purpose of this post.  posts criticizing teams, players, other posters, or coaches, as well as posts with no relevance will be taken down.
22.
Jacovin is a TO machine but he is also the only guy  that can constantly make his own offense!!! He just needs to keep his head in the game... Agg stop beating up on the boy... Let his past be his past and his today build his future.  You don't see many players not react to being smacked in the face with a forearm.  It was too much and hopefully he will continue to improve on self control.  Everybody played bad tonight... James did not move the ball enough, Hamilton was a bad play waiting to happen, Bradely was not confident, Balbay stopped driving, Lucas took bad shots, Johnson took bad shots, nobody made free throws, and the list goes on!
more often than not he's been forcing up bad shots trying to create his own offense.  i'd much rather see balbay creating offense for other players, or bradley trying to create his own offense.  when j'covan has been good is when he's spotting up on the wing draining big shots, and picking and choosing when to drive rather than forcing the action trying to create.  he's been a solid player for them, and i'm glad he's on the team, but you can still see the youth and the unwillingness to share the ball at times.
23.

J'Covan Brown is talented, but he is a turnover machine!
Yeah 2 turnovers is way too many. But Balbay took great care of the ball with only 6 TO'S/
brown's been a turnover machine all year.  in fact, he leads the team in turnovers, and he doesn't even start.  it's also worth noting that scoring is the only statistic that brown is better than balbay.  sorry you feel the need to get defensive, but it is what it is.
24. i've got no problem with the list, and i haven't even looked at it yet.  it's just one man's opinion, but that man has more local basketball knowledge than me, so i'll take his word for it.  if he's off on a couple, that's okay, too.  it's not like this list will effect where this kids end up playing in college (if they do).
