BH pays extremely well and Pennington has been there a while. I think Pennington was there ten plus years. But when he got it he was the third coach in maybe three years? He also came from Hooks which is a 3a and the previous guy was from Canadian ( I think) which is 2 or 3a. My prediction is this time around expect a highly successful coach from a 5a/6a. I think it’ll be someone with a ring or someone who got real close.

Better if the Beaumont schools stay down.

Other teams have tried slowing them down all year, how did that work out? Westwood is a fastball, curveball, knuckleball hitting team. Not a whole lot is going to work against them. -

Beat two time defending state champion Hitchcock playing that way last year, beat Westwood earlier this year doing it. They played Westwood closer than anyone else has since December tonight doing it. Go down throwing your fastball, not trying to be something you aren’t. -

Extremely athletic Fairfield group. Came up just short against Yoakum in football and it’s almost all the same kids. -

Heck of a win by Orangefield, Fairfield gave them everything they had and Orangefield kept answering the bell. -

Unfortunately I don’t think so -
My whole point is New Caney pays some of the higher salaries of head coaches in the entire Houston area. Neither offensive or defensive coordinator has to teach class. The facilities are top notch both at the stadium and at West Fork High School. There is nothing wrong with promoting form within, however when you’re getting coaches that have the resume of a guy like Cope and I’m sure they got several other good ones I can definitely understand going in a different direction. If you’re going to fund your programs that well and provide all those resources it’s your responsibility to hire the best coach, not hire someone out of loyalty because you feel like you have to do that. Not a shot at any of the Mcdouglads who are great football coaches and people.

Dougald McDougald retired. His son had no head coaching experience to my knowledge. Really can’t compare his sons resume to Cope’s

I’m an Onalaska guy at heart ( give us football), but as a New Caney ISD hire I like them conducting searches and bringing in guys with bigger resumes.
