  1. It was good to meet Mr. NewtonBroadcaster as well as Setxsports.com.
  2. I left with it 28-0. WH was showing nothing. Sabine was running all over WH. I didn't think WH would even score.
  3. Yeah Jasper had a down year but many knew they were the preseason pick around the 3-4 spot so they knew they were down somewhat. That is not a knock, most folks had WOS and Silsbee as the top 2 with BC and Jasper duking it out for 3rd. Just looking at several district games Jasper was just one or two breaks away from being in the playoffs. I would have to say Ozen without a doubt. With several D1 prospects and the talk of a district title battle with Central they were just plain pitiful. I remember saying in preseason that a certain Dayton squad was going to do extremely well but several including a weatherman didn't have them in the top 3.
  4. The thing is this isn't a minor we have here. I believe state law will view him as an adult therefore no big deal in posting this.....it's public information. The kid knew what he had and what he was doing especially out so late.
  5. Just out of curiosity how many offensive plays were run?
  6. Splendora supposedly hasn't seen much option play this season. Whoops!
  7. Why must we always go offense? I nominate BK Johnson the db from Silsbee. The kid has played great all season. Anyone have the total interceptions this kid made? He has been a clutch wr as well.
  8. JEALOUSY is an ugly thing. The Newtons, WOSs, Nederlands, Jaspers, etc have shown to be better than the others in the area on a consistent basis. Don't sit here and break down each position or player etc and expect a weaker team to gain respect. Noone ever doubts the hard work these kids put out in the hot months to the cool November nights, but the truth of the matter is the consistent playoff schools have superior talent and/or work ethic. I have never felt the midcounty schools were real talented but they did have great game discipline that helped them overcome their physical weaknesses. For years the Port Arthur schools had tremendous talent but had mental breakdowns (penalties, blown assignments, etc) that cost them. Just because your school hasn't had the success that many other schools have had is not a reason to try and belittle their achievments so you can feel better about your situation.
  9. I left after the interception return. I knew the weather was coming quick. Jasper has some talent they just have to finish the plays. Two long tds passes for Harris and it was like noone wanted to try and tackle him.
  10. This game will be very close. Jasper is a main rival and always plays hard. Throw the records out this week.
  11. "...actually beating Kirbyville." What was any different than the previous meetings? I will say K'ville came back late but the game wasn't even close. K'ville was romped worse than the final scoreboard indicated. It is good to finally see you acknowledge you were wrong that is an improvement in itself.
  12. You know, I believe you were smelling a romp this past week as well.
  13. Silsbee relaxed. The 1st string defense was in almost all game. They became very conservative while Kville was desperately trying to stay in it. When you stop atacking and go into a more prevent type defense yards are gained. No doubt Rhodes is good.......a good defensive player. That kid laid the wood on two plays that were very impressive. He gained most of his yardage on 2-3 big runs late.
  14. At the end of the ST/KV game BK nearly had his 4th int. From my perspective he had it. The kid had a monster night.
  15. The one thing going for balla is the bulletin board material he puts up for the opposing team. With all of the noise and nonsense he spews he only helps teams to put targets on the K'ville players back. K'ville can't hope to quietly go in and get a win from a team overlooking them.
  16. It has been a very long time time for Kountze if they have ever even made the playoffs.
  17. ...but losing to just WOS puts them with 3 losses and K'ville or Silsbee could, possibly, lose 2.
  18. So is the head the head the tie-breaker, points, coin flip....? I know different districts have different methods. K'ville could pull the upset and then Silsbee goes into a strong rival with Jasper....anything is possible.
  19. K'ville has to be able to handle the halfback dive on a consistent basis. Silsbee's main reason for keeping the WOS game so close was keeping their offense off of the field. If Silsbee get the 5-6 yards per carry going on some long drives it beats the defensive line down.
  20. So obviously WOS is in. K'ville and Silsbee look good, but what has to happen for BC to still sneak into the playoffs? What's the district's tie breaker system?
