  1. I didn't ask you to "buy it." Silsbee had more talent on the floor last year than this year, but they didn't play well as a team. It is obvious you do not know Silsbee's talent pool and to be honest you shouldn't since you are from HJ. Saying that, Silsbee has some tremendous young athletes coming. The coaches are even excited.
  2. Hopefully they were just talking nonsense. The kid has a lot of potential.
  3. They did well no doubt but now the talent pool is getting better. This thread is about next year. Silsbee was predicted to be on the bubble this year. Everyone had WOS repeating an Austin trip.
  4. Silsbee's run is about to begin. The team has some tremendous athletes that will be sophmores and freshmen. Tall and quick.
  5. Silsbee should take some early lumps with the new group of kids. Silsbee's talent pool is pretty deep the next few years. I would think if there is a down year it would have to be next year with the kids learning their positions.
  6. On another forum they said former Jasper standout Moye may have been involved as well. Where did he get a scholarship?
  7. Only two coaches here really to consider....Sutherland and Joubert. There were several good coaches this year, but Sutherland did a heck of a job this year getting HJ back to Austin. HJ won probably the toughest 3A district in the state. He got his kids up in some tough games this year. From the looks of it the state title was determined by the HJ/Silsbee game last week in Huntsville. To be down the way they were and then send the game into overtime was a feat.
  8. They lost...plain and simple. No one needs to "answer up" to anything. Only one school in each classification ends their season on a winning note. You need to go and support your Lions, looking at their current squad it may be their last trip for a few years.
  9. Considering this was the "down" year, they did great. The talent pool is deep from here on out.
  10. What time is the game?
  11. This whole thread is pointless. All these type of threads do is display a lot of homerism and tick people off because others do not feel the same way about "their" team as they do.
  12. This would be better served by having their respected schools listed beside their names.
  13. Obviously he has done a great job, but Kountze lost the district championship for the first time in over a decade. If any coach from that district deserves that accolade it should be the EC coach for leading his squad.
  14. ....done.
  15. I can't say I disagree with him though. Bball used to be a finesse sport. I quit keeping up with the sport when the greats of the past MJ, Kareem, Hakeem, Bird, and Clyde the Glide all retired. You didn't see those superstars acting the way these younger guys do.
  16. Woodville didn't run a stall. Kountze was terrible in the first quarter. Six minutes had gone by and the score was like 5-2. Shots were not falling and the ball handling was sloppy. Kountze was not playing well. They turned it up in the 3rd but in the 4th reduced the pressure allowing Woodville to close the gap a bit.
  17. Silsbee's future is definitely bright. Next year will be a young squad. If they click next year they will be good for quite a while. I have been high on Johnson for a few years now. He has the ability to be special.
  18. I know WH has had a great season but how will they match up to the size and speed of WOS? WH have much size and speed to match? I have not seen them play. No disrespect but what does WOS really get from this game? If they win "they were supposed to" if they lose it is a major spring board for WH and setback for the preseason 3A district favorite. It is a win-win deal for WH.
  19. If Silsbee is to be considered down it will only be for a year or so. There is a lot of size and speed on the way up.
  20. That was a great game. Milby was #1 in 5A and ranked in the nation. Some Kountze fans wanted Sutherland's head because they lost. It was crazy.
  21. Where is kvilleballa? 8) I'm sure he would enlighten us on who will be the best.
  22. I would say Sutherland. He won the toughest overall district in the area.
  23. lol.....not upset and they did play for the district title and lost. Better not get too cocky HJ hasn't gotten out of the early rounds in a few years. I wish Todd well. I know Todd and the missus reads this, so 'da Guru says hi.
