I think the tigers have the advantage regardless. Tall tall task for HJ to win this game.
Yes sir it is, without controlling the tempo though the Tigers advantage grows

If you’re referring to #5 from HJ I believe he is a junior. At least that’s why the roster said at the game. But I do agree he is tough and physical, I don’t think he will be able to keep up with the pace of the game though.
For HJ to have a legitimate shot in this one they’ll have to dictate the pace. If they can keep the tempo in the 60 point range and keep the post player involved they’ll have a chance. If it turns into a track meet the advantage goes quickly back to the Tigers.

The difference in this one was rebounding in the second half. Kountze tightened it up early in the 3rd quarter when #10 hit a couple of deep 3’s but the live and die with the 3 ball hurt em in the end. If the Lions develop a post presence of any kind to help Sells they are going to be a pretty good club going forward.

Buna gonna have to hit some free throws and they’ll put this away

That 2nd if two charges against him looked pretty shaky. But I’m biased
He was pretty deep lol

I believe Sells just picked up #4

Kountze with a couple of quick 3’s

Kountze is cold from deep but offensive rebounds are keeping them within striking distance.

Kountze more than held their own on the glass in the first

I hope they get some officials from outside the area.
They’ve got as good a group of officials as there are anywhere

I would make Kountze a 4 point favorite.
I would give the slight edge to Buna. Call me crazy but i never liked this venue for a shooting club that lives by the 3 ball . I’ll take the Cougars by 4

I watched the second half of the game on NFHS. Their half court defense was definitely bad. Also, Kountze missed several what I consider as unnecessary deep 3 point attempts.. and their free throw shooting cost them a few possessions worth of points.
Buna broke the press easily. It turned into vastly more offensive points than it did turnovers in Kountze's favor. I know that's what they do but it definitely wasn't working. Not sure Kountze's answer for when they can't score from their press. Seems like it's "give the ball to the PG and let him create". Not sound in my opinion.. but, meh. I don't really care.
Best of luck fighting it out for the last spot.
Kountze’s biggest weakness this year appears to me be their lack of size. The young guys aren’t big enough yet to beat anyone up on the press. There’s gonna be some growing pains . If the long ball is falling they are going to be in the game if not it gets ugly quick.

Is it ever not a great atmosphere there? I have been to absolute beat downs there and the gym was still rocking.
Very true

Alas, the better team won.
After seeing these two play at Hamshire-Fannett, I had no doubt that HJ would win this one. They are just the better team.
I would agree 100%

This game was closer than the final score .Great atmosphere ,full house with two pretty solid teams.

Having a good player doesn’t constitute a program turning around. It just means they had a good player(s).
Yes sir I didn’t say they turned the program around, someone asked what happened in 2009. My response was addressing that question lol

Both of these guys can coach. I watched Brian take a Buna club to the playoffs against Woodville over at Kountze and beat a Woodville club that he probably shouldn’t have .
Coach Wilson stepped in behind the scenes over at HJ when Coach Davis family was dealing with some very serious health issues and did an outstanding job. Buna has had the misfortune of being in the district with some good basketball schools over the years and this year there will be one pretty good club on the outside of the playoffs looking in. Best of luck to both coaches, they are both good men and better role models.- Johnny Carson and gogo1734
