Yuga is always pretty solid and you never know what you'll get with Dayton.They have some horses over there but may still be shaking the football rust off.They must feel like they will be a little better or they probably wouldn't have came to HJ.Where is Huntington this year ?

[/quote]Read this post again True.I didn't say that Kountze,Anahuac or EC would have a lot more talent(but they will).I said they would create match up nightmares which is what you said wins games.I agree with that 100%.I don't mean this to down Evadale at all, I was impressed with them this summer they just did not match up well with teams that push the ball and pressure the floor.Inserting the big kid won't speed up the Rebels.They will make the playoffs without a doubt.I wish I could say I had only been watching small school ball for 30 years.

The mismatch I spoke of with Kountze and Anahuac are all about speed.They aren't going to walk the ball up the floor and wait on people to come set up in the lane.They are going to pressure the ball run the floor and score on the break.I've watched them do it ALOT over the last  several years including ALOT this summer.Once again Evadale will be very well coached and will win the games their supposed to win.One player won't make them a state contender (unless Stallworth decides to move from Silsbee over there).I'm ready for em to toss it up.

Kountze will be in contention for the district crown as always but aren't anywhere near as strong as they have been over the past several years.Duane will have them playing as well as they can play and that will be good enough to beat most the area 2-a clubs.

Anahuac,Newton and EC I think are the front runners.

Gus won't sneak up on anyone, everybody in SeTexas is already watching him.

Both teams will score but EC will play better defense and win by a couple of touchdowns. EC-35 Hardin-21 Hardin,Buna and Woodville all have good clubs that I don't see making the playoffs.

BS isn't gonna be in the EC tourney this year? If not I hate that because that's usually where I get to see them after they have been on the floor awhile.Evadale wasn't bad this summer True but they didn't look like a taem with the potential to go real deep.They will be real well coached and will win the games their supposed to win.On the 2-a level they don't match up well with Kountze,Anahuac or EC.Nobody beats Big Sandy at home and while it won't be a district match up any longer Spurger will be the class of the 1-a clubs locally.From my observations this summer Persohn from HJ was the most improved player I saw on any of the clubs.People that didn't see him this summer are gonna be surprised.

You gotta admit though since Alvarez got there they been pretty darn good.

I think the kids name from HJ is Persohn.He was a JV player last year but was the most improved player I saw this summer.It looked like the lights came on for this kid, he will be one you will here from this season.

The Huntington tourney is always great if the food is any better than Big Rich puts out at HJ you'd have to have a golf cart to get back to the car.

That's a catch 22 for the Rebs.The HJ tourney always has a very good overall field but can be tough on a teams confidence if they aren't real strong.I 've watched it for years and a lot of the clubs use it to find depth because they play a ton of games.They may see Big Sandy in the EC tourney because they are usually in that one.

If I knew him I'd lease him a house LOL!!!!!!!

Evadale should make the playoffs in this district with the departure of Spurger and SP graduating a lot of folks.Big Sandy will probably be the favorite.Evadale played an up tempo game this summer without the big kid and I know Coach Williams likes to play an up tempo game.I think the district will be down a little overall this season.
