HJ turned it up in the 2nd half with Davis coming out on fire from behind the arc.
Sears was huge with penetration and Melvo came up big on the block.HF scores 3 in the 3rd and 3 in the 4th and never got in any type of flow. The Horns got away from #5 and he is money down low. I don’t think he shot the ball in the 4th. Good win for the Hawks!

21-4A District Standings thru the first half of district play.
1) Hardin Jefferson 6-0
2) Livingston 5-1
3) Hamshire Fannett 4-2
4) Huffman 3-3
5) Splendora 2-4
6) Liberty 1-5
7) Shepherd 0-6
Hardin Jefferson finished the first half of the district season undefeated. They look to be the best team in the district but they will have to travel to HF and Livingston in the second half of the season.
Livingston has been the surprise club this year. They have some kids that can shoot it from behind the arc that makes them dangerous.
Hamshire has all the tools to be in the mix but has been inconsistent.
Splendora , Liberty and Shepherd look to be playing the spoiler role.
The second half kicks off Tuesday night and should be a lot of fun!!

Ugly, ugly game. I missed the first 2 minutes of the game, and the first 3 minutes of the 3rd. The hawks went to the line a lot, and didn’t make both free throws in any trip that I saw. If I had to guess I’d say shot about 40% from the line, and took close to 30 attempts. They were also about 2/15 from deep while I watched. That said, a win is a win. Livingston isn’t a bad team this year, but the hawks should’ve won this by 20+
Amen!! I don’t believe the Hawks shot 40% from the line. Livingston had trouble with the pressure but hit enough 3’s to keep em in it.

They always seem to have athletes. When I had crews up there I stayed up that way a lot. They won state in football one year and ran the coach off. May be a little community dissension.

Bad can be a relative term. All depends on how one sees things.
Personally, I have seen some bad teams this year but Warren isn't one of them.
In all fairness I’ve only seen them once and that was early in the season. They had a lot of size but hadn’t been in the gym much it didn’t look like. I don’t see the commitment to the basketball program for them to get considerably better in two or three years. I hope I’m wrong.

I have HJ beating Livingston by 20+ at home.

@whsalum do you think that the Lions can play with the Hawks. I'm going to watch Nederland vs Crosby if not I would make my way out there. Lions must be solid though to beat Hamshire and Huffman. HJ has made district look easy and Livingston not as easy so I am wondering if they can really hang with the Hawks.
I don’t think the Lions will hang with the Hawks at Sour Lake. They aren’t bad but I’d take HJ by 10 at home. It may be a closer when the two teams meet up in Livingston.

This game was a lot closer than I would have thought. Livingston beats Hamshire-Fannett and Huffman and then barely beats Shepherd and Splendora.
They are tied with HJ going in to Friday’s game I believe. That game is in Sour Lake so I’m gonna have to give the edge to the Hawks. Looks like these 2 are gonna grab the top 2 spots.
