GCM had our number, kind of like we got a lotta teams numbers in this district. Hey, it happens. But I'll take what we've done, minus those hiccups. I really think it's because God knows this board couldn't handle Nederland with that district winning streak that would be in tact if not for those two voodoo games.

I thought PNG played some good defense last year. They definitely are not passive, look at the Lejeune kid, he'll knock anybody coming over the middle. Same with the Robinson kid and several others. I think what you have is an offensive philosophy that scores quickly and the defense is out there more if they aren't getting stops and it can snowball. JMO

I wouldn't say Nederland has no hope, but it takes a very special collection of talent (see 2012 reference) at this point in the HS football landscape. Some of these Dallas / Austin / Houston area 5A teams are ridiculously loaded with talent and have such an influx of numbers between enrollments that it makes it tough to consistently be in the discussion.

What makes him great though Cal, is he throws that pretty ball in the middle of the storm around him. The rush don't bother him, and he can tuck it and run as needed. He reminds me of Major Applewhite.

You're supposed to research that before you choose the school district up that way... seriously, good luck. I'm sure they will be attending schools with outstanding facilities.

Nation, you're missing the point, it's about the consistent means to get the W when at times all things are fairly equal as the score indicates. That's what makes the guy special. He coaches the ability to win and be successful when it counts the most, as good or better than most in this area ever have. I think the close scores and the 6 straight, actually say the exact opposite of the argument you are making.

I'm with dBerry on this one. Baylor loses this argument, if nothing else in the court of public opinion and human decency, and should let these young men out of their commitment. The Penn St. analogy is pretty much dead on accurate.
