1. I think the biggest difference was Nederland was resting as in NOT PLAYING a down a lot of their starters.  I don't remember the list, but Nederland probably scrimmaged Dayton with no less than 7-8 starters resting. That's the main reason no one in Nederland panicked, we knew the deal.  May have been the case for Dayton last Friday.
2. Don't have to type a bunch of explanations, but agree, Crosby may not have two guys together that can block Malveaux and D Wash.
3. Nederland WB Memorial PNG Coldspring WOS BUNA Newton Kountze OF Anahuac Woodville HD Warren WHardin
4.
He didn't have the talent he has this year
If you can only compete when you have better talent, is it really the superior play calling.  Nothing negative, but goodness, seems it has MUCH more to do with the kids getting it done.
5.
I just don't think silsbee can stop PNG offense...Texas City had no answer for Coach Faircloths play calling
??? Faircloth was there last year too?
6. I'm glad to see PNG back, Mid County Madness last year was like a morgue.  This game will be back to normal this year.  Good luck and stay healthy.
7. No offense NDNation, but the game will probably go exactly opposite.  Nederland's offense is potent, and Crosby don't play much defense.  Ned still has question marks on defense and Crosby will exploit them with their speed for a few big scores.  Nederland's running game is going to be something else this year, mark it down.  And then when folks stack the box, how the heck do you deal with 6'1 and 6'2 on the outside? Ned 38-21
8.
Nederland over Crosby. According to cougar14 we should just stay home since they beat us twice when we had 5-5 or worse seasons.
Unfortunately for Coug, we will have our starting QB this time as well, like last year.
9.
And we will be even younger next year. At the pep rally, when the seniors went to the burning PN-G for pics...sure wasn't that many underclassman left behind.
I thought they were going to be really young this year with all those sophs?
10. Soulja has no idea what's coming if this team stays healthy.
11. folks looking for a "game" will likely be disappointed by the scrimmage breaks out.  If history is any indication, look for any player not 110% healthy will be resting.  I would see a lot of looks at guys who could provide depth to see significant time.
12.

I'll just say this. If the players aren't going out there to "Win" then what is the point of having a scrimmage? Practice hard play hard, practice soft play soft.
So if team A 1st team scores 4 TD's on team B's 1st team (team B's 1st team does not score), but team B's 2nd team scores 5 TD's against team A's 2nd team (team A 2nd team does not score), with all this done in a "controlled, set amount of plays, no kicking game" scrimmage, it's deemed that team B "wins" the scrimmage? smh  ::)
Not all scrimmages are "controlled" and have a "set amount of plays". Vidor and WOS have had game like scrimmages for idk how long now. Everything is like a game except punts and kickoffs. Just sayin 8)
Controlled or live game situations don't matter, NO coach is going to play a scrimmage the way he will play a district game, personnel, schemes.. etc are night and day.
13.
The Bulldogs are almost a lock for the playoffs. I cant see this team not having success. If the Dogs dont win the district title outright, they have fallen short of their potential.
Squarely placing that bullseye from across the tracks.
14. Neumann has college recruiters through the Bulldog facilities on a regular basis.  He also has position coaches who are connected and if kids want to go play, and have the ability, they will get their shot.  Nederland just don't have many DeShawn Washington's roll through where big time colleges are actually interested.
15. Can't see Seay not playing defense, the job will be White's with a dash of Seay.
16. Ned had a girl win state in powerlifting, won district in girls golf as well and had a 3rd place finish at the state track meet in high jump.  May have been even in the big 3, but overall, this isn't even close, Nederland had the best year around here.  Boys and Girls Soccer won district, Boys and Girls Cross Country won district, I believe Boys and Girls tennis teams won district as well... the list is pretty incredible.
17. That incoming freshman group may have something to say about 2015, they are loaded.  I don't disagree with the thought that the depth may take a hit over the next 2 years though.
18.
The big question is will cougar14 be here to eat his crow [s]if[/s] WHEN his predictions are wrong come August.
IMO of course
19. Micah for 250 on one leg at the Reservation wasn't too bad either.
20. You kind of already did that didn't you?
21. Reason #1a why Nederland will three peat as district champions.  Unbloackable Malveaux.  He and D Wash could play with Tom and Jerry and stop the run and rush the passer.  Bulldog football, still here.
22. Found it, Ravines was the offensive MVP.  Big senior year for him being offensive MVP in football and overall MVP in baseball, wonder if that has been done too many times
23. Was Ravines or Montana the MVP in football?
24.
I went over to PNG last week to watch the WB/PNG 7 on 7 game. If what I saw from the Indians on offense and defense is any indication of what their season may look like, PNG will be hard to beat. They made WB look silly.  PNG offense looked like they could score at will and defense has 3 INT's for TD's. Very impressive. I say at least 8-2.
This is why PNG is struggling, 7 on 7 means squadoooosh when it comes to real football. There is a lot lost in translation to a pass rush and the threat of getting separated from the ball.  However I do see PNG being much improved 6-5 is in reach.
