From exposure to a teen?
-
I thoroughly respect your decision with your child. You have that right. I have another perspective though. My son is 17. He is at a much lager risk of being harmed in an auto accident than practicing sports. Yet, we still allow our Teens to drive. Do the best you can to protect your family the way you see fit and I think you have done your job.

I wear a mask if required; otherwise, I do not.
-
I think if a private entity wants to require a mask before entry then that is their right. If a parent wants to hold back their young athlete from participating then again that’s their right. The converse is also true. I have chosen to let my son participate. I would not criticize anyone who chose not to though.

North Shore/De La Salle Game Cancelled
SmashMouth replied to WOSgrad's topic in High School Football
No joke. -
I did. Freakin funny.

What in hell did they feed you as a child? LMAO! My post about not eating the syrup was being facetious and a little sarcastic. It never crossed my mind as being racist. (I always liked Steen’s in the yellow can, anyway.) Neither did eating chicken from a southern plantation owning colonel’s place. I just thought it was chicken.

North Shore/De La Salle Game Cancelled
SmashMouth replied to WOSgrad's topic in High School Football
I don’t think it’s a political topic. Not for me anyway. It’s about a sporting event being cancelled due to CV-19. A cancellation that may spawn more cancellations of sporting events among other things. Actually very fitting for a site called SETXSPORTS, I think. And if we don’t get a handle on this issue, they may have to change the name of this site to “Remember SETXSPORTS?” . -

I never would eat Aunt Jemima syrup. I always thought it was racist.

You are exactly right. They should be hydrating before, during and after practice. They should notify someone if they’re feeling poorly. If they don’t feel comfortable starting yet because they’re not prepared, they should not participate except on a limited basis. Even then these tragedies may occur though. Prayers to the family. I have had my teen athletes working out separately this entire time. Running, lifting, agilities, etc. They are all in good shape. I have no fear of them participating.

I agree 100%! (Except for the go pirates part...) 😬
-
You’re probably right. But according to Kountzer’s account, I’ll be reloading before that night is over.

I would owe it to my wife...my children...the people I’m responsible for and love more than my own life to do whatever I had to and through whatever means it took to come home safe to them. The dude with the shotgun would have 20 + 1 holes in him from an FN-57. Sorry, just telling the truth.

Most excellent clip. I always enjoyed Paul Harvey’s news and rest of the story. “Good day!”

Yep. All the same, like I said. -
SETXsports.com TO BROADCAST BISD AND VIDOR GAMES THIS YEAR!
SmashMouth replied to WOSgrad's topic in High School Football
Glad to hear they’ll be broadcasting more games. I’ll be attending mostly Lumberton games in person. Nice to have a back-up for hs football just in case of bad weather, etc. -

North Shore/De La Salle Game Cancelled
SmashMouth replied to WOSgrad's topic in High School Football
I think it’s pretty much on topic. Football being cancelled. Some say yea and some say nay... -
I agree. I’ll try to get it back on thread. I’m so glad our young athletes are getting back to working out and staying healthy. I hope and pray for their health and safety on an off the field.

Anybody please answer this: If a student got the flu while at school, would we completely shut down the schools? If a student was seriously injured or killed in a car crash, would we completely abolish students fro driving altogether? If, God forbid, one of our young athletes was injured with life-changing consequences, would we ban high school sports altogether?
-
Hell, let’s just shut it all down. The mommas and daddies can stay at home from work too. I don’t see much need for opening anything up anymore. Let’s stay quarantined til there’s nothing to go back to. That’ll teach us! We don’t need schools to open either. No need to go to school cuz there will be no jobs or a future to train for. Shut it ALL down.

I wish I had posted that!!!

And that’s the way it is...

Thanks ma’am. And Thank God.
