  1. I agree. But who decides the threshold of acceptance of deaths from a virus? In the 2017/2018 Flu season, U.S. flu death estimates reach close to 100,000. Not as many by the China virus , for sure, but still a helluva lot considering we have flu vaccines, experience with flu cases and treatment and a much better understanding of that the flu virus in general. Does that mean if we can get the death toll down to 100,00 a year or so (give or take a few thousand souls) it’s all ok? Who comes up with the threshold - who gets to decide?
  2. That’s what the word “politician” means.
  3. Not always. Lumberton has the same issues. Except they have a few out for the year, and some others out for a couple more weeks. All starters.
  4. True. I hope so.
  5. They’re not that classless or foolhardy. You won’t have the opportunity to complain.
  6. I’d rather them play Saturday. But what “y’all” are going to do is make them drive up there during possible unsafe conditions , go home in possible unsafe conditions without playing, then drive back up there Saturday.
  7. (As Elvis) Thank you...thank you very much.
  8. I agree. So is it incumbent on me to pick up their tab?
  9. You have to realize, NetCat, meteorology is different in the rural HD setting. The chickens told him.
  10. Spot on Eagle. I kept hoping he would use that line from Harris, “They’re coming for you!” Are you an industrial welder, pipe fitter, boilermaker, supervisor, planner, scaffold builder, insulator...they’re coming for you. Do you work for a business that supports industrial contractors - safety supplies, consumables, materials, training, equipment sales/rental...they’re coming for you Do you own a firearm?...they’re coming for you. Do you support the military and law enforcement?... they’re coming for you. Are you against the slaughtering of unborn children BY THE MILLIONS?!..they’re coming for you. Do you you love your country, freedom, the constitution - the United States of America ?...they’re coming for you.
  11. It’s a real concern for everyone. But I’m wondering...what did people do about healthcare before Obamacare. I worked for a company that offered insurance. They paid a portion of it and I paid the majority of it. It was an excellent plan including dental, vision, and other coverage above and beyond the average medical plan. It cost me about $90 a week to cover my family - 5 of us in total. Fast forward - now I pay almost $300 a week, no dental, no vision, a deductible and out of pocket that has doubled AND there’s only 3 of us. It literally costs me per person the same that it costed me for the whole family before Obamacare drove insurance prices to an unbearably high level.
  12. Yep. You’re right. It’s ALL THE OTHER SCHOOLS that are wrong...
  13. I don’t think anyone’s crying. I just think it would be prudent to move the game to Thursday like every other team in the district. Doesnt make much sense. Although Livingston didn’t get much rain last time, we lost power for several days here in Lumberton. Plus you got bus loads of kids on the road in a storm. Honestly, I’d rather go to a Friday night game too. Unless, of course, I have to worry about my Senior making a senseless trip in a hurricane. I guess my big question is why not move the game like everyone did for safety’s sake? It’s a fair question.
  14. Lol. Honestly they know Lumberton throws a lot and a wet field will help their chances. Not a stupid move if it doesn’t put anyone in danger driving through a hurricane. We shall see.
  15. FYI, Vidor said they’ll be selling tix at the gate Thursday night.
  16. That’s silly.
  17. I just spoke to the Livingston field house. They said it’s still on for Friday. They said they don’t expect much more than an inch of rain. Lol. What a dumbarse. Lol. They said, if we have to reschedule we can always play Saturday or Monday per UIL.
  18. I doubt we will have flooding on Thursday, but there’s a 70% chance of rain on Friday the whole night. They get our whole gang to go up there on buses, call the game off and send them packing home, then replay the next day around 1 which means another bus ride there and back. It’s either that, or they want to avoid the game altogether.
  19. I’d like to go see Splendora vs Vidor on Thursday if Lumberton still plays Friday. How do I get tickets?
  20. Lol. Sure they do.
  21. I don’t get it. Be a lot safer for the kids and coaches and families. Most the other local schools have seen fit to change. That’s a long drive in that kinda weather. One of you Lion fans know of any reason not to change? Maybe there’s a good reason to put lives in danger. Unless they’re scared and want to avoid the game altogether.
  22. Yeah, Livingston refuses to change. Forcing the Raiders to drive in the potential storm. Real classy...but what do you expect.
