You missed the point. But considering who I am dealing with, I don't find it all that surprising.
All of these guys have compelling cases. That is why they are finalists.  But like I said, some folks can't help themselves.

I was also a bit surprised that this didn't get into the media earlier.
Oh, but I know what is coming.

As is usually the case, there will be three deserving finalists on each side of the ball that go without the award, but yet the winner will be one that no one can argue with.  I know that some just can't help themselves, but trying to tear down the accomplishments of one to make the case for another really is not in the spirit of the award.
All of these young men, on either side of the ball, can have a compelling case made for them.  Let us celebrate their successes and the accomplishments that brought them to this point.

My thoughts are both young men (JD and Dontre)deserve the award due to their outstanding skills and leadership of their teams.  I think it should be determined strictly on stats but that's just my opinion. There is no doubt that JD has an awesome selection of players he could go to but he still had to get it done. Dontre didn't have the weapons JD had but still found a way to go several rounds deep in the playoffs. Tough pick! I would be glad to see either one win the award! Congrats to all that were selected.

Have the folks who started or signed this petition addressed the H-D ISD Board of Trustees in one of their meetings?  This is where they need to redress their grievances with Coach Hodges, not by signing some online petition.  I am anxious to see if this has taken place.

The kid needs to go to a school he feels that fits him , not the name of the school.

I too, would like to see a resolution to this matter.  However, this is not the place for that resolution to take place.  As with all message boards that I have, we have here a staff only forum that all involved in this dispute have access to in order to handle issues such as these.  Jordan Wilson placed that forum there for exactly that reason and he would be quite displeased at the attempt to resolve this matter in the public forums of this site.
I think a resolution to this matter can be made, but it isn't going to happen here.  For that reason, I think it may be time to close this thread.  Given the posts that have been previously made, I think it will be obvious to us all if a resolution to the matter has been made.

I don't think anyone faults you for breaching the subject....I know I don't.  It is just that this is the type of subject...a child's health and a school district allegedly putting that child's health in jeopardy tends to draw some pretty emotional responses.
I, like you, hope that the discussion stays on an informed and educated level.  However, I must be prepared for the discussion to be charged with a bit of emotion.

I held off for the very same reason.  I realize that this could (and probably ultimately will) be a hot button issue.

You know the constant playing of the whiner...er, race card, doesn't not paint you as oppressed.....it paints you as a whiner.  You think you would have learned that during your considerable free time in Nacogdoches, but I guess Steve Wariner had it right...some fools never learn.
