  1. I've read, the Evadale ISD admissions policy. [Hidden Content].pdf&filename=FD(LEGAL).pdf The following is the only situation that I have seen that allows the Evadale ISD to prevent admission of a student: 4.The person is under the age of 18 and has established a separate residence in the district apart from his or her parent, guardian, or other person having lawful control under an order of a court and has established that the person’s presence in the district is not for the primary purpose of participation in extracurricular activities. A board is not required to admit such person, however, if the person has: a.Engaged in conduct that resulted in removal to a disciplinary alternative education program or expulsion within the preceding year; b.Engaged in delinquent conduct or “conduct in need of supervision” and is on probation or other conditional re-lease for that conduct; or c.Been convicted of a criminal offense and is on probation or other conditional release.
  2. Here are some picks, from last Friday:
  3. That still doesn't make sense.
  4. So, in essence, the Tyler ISD, named for the city named for President John Tyler, which decided about a month ago that President John Tyler's ties to the Confederate States precluded anything in Tyler ISD, which, again, is named for the city named for President John Tyler, from being named for President John Tyler, stripped the name John Tyler from a high school in the Tyler ISD, which again, is named for the city named for President John Tyler and in its place, the Tyler ISD, which is named for the city named for President John Tyler, opted for the name Tyler High as it is named for the City of Tyler, which again, is named for President John Tyler, whom the Tyler ISD, which is named for the city named for President John Tyler, decided is unworthy of having anything named after him in Tyler ISD, which again, is named after the city named after President John Tyler, because his ties to the Confederacy. I thought I was a smart guy. But obviously I need help in figuring out how this makes sense.
  5. BISD did report last night that a United varsity player did test positive. Varsity and JV excluded from S&C workouts until next Friday. [Hidden Content]
  6. Changing the letters to symbols does not mean a curse word is not being used. Not again!
  7. 2020 HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL PREVIEWS HIGH ISLAND CARDINALS 2019 Record: 4-4 Overall; 1-2 District 3rd Place in District 12-1A-I After 8 years in the 6 man ranks, the High Island Cardinals will again test the waters of the 11 man game. Coach Matt Miracle does do some with a loaded senior class which will make sure that there is plenty in the cupboard this season. COACHING Head Coach: Matt Miracle Assistant Coaches: Aaron Kuehler (Defensive Coordinator/Linebackers/Wide Receivers), Mike Previte (Running Backs/Defensive Line), Ron Dupree (Quarterbacks/Defensive Line), John Carlisle (Offensive Line/Defensive line) OFFENSE High Island will bring another slot Y into the 11 man game. Sophomore quarterback Jordan Grubbs will lead the Cardinal attack but look for sophomore Blake Walker to also get action behind center. The Cardinal rushing attack should be potent as senior halfbacks Julian Blume and Joey Lester, junior tailback Dade Brindley and senior fullback Brandon Isaacks will be in the backfield. Look for sophomores A.J. Lowe and Quinten Malinchalk to also see time in the High Island backfield. Walker and sophomore Jesse Palmer will line up at tight end and senior Kyle Hall will line up out wide to pace the Cardinal passing attack. Seniors Zenn Taylor and Junior Stewart will lead an offensive line which will also get contributions from senior lineman Ben Borden, juniors Jon-Michael Samonte and Donovan Thrash, sophomores Konnor Andress and Canyon Revia and freshman Caden Parea. DEFENSE The Cardinal 3-3 stack will make its appearance in the 11 man game. Up front, Taylor and Thrash, from their defensive line spots, will pace a defensive line which get contributions from Parea, Samonte and Revia at nose guard, as well as Andress at defensive end. 8. You evidently don't know someone who has died from COVID-19. Until this weekend, that was the case for me as well. It isn't anymore: [Hidden Content]
  9. Well, think about it this way......every person on the IMG roster could start at North Shore. Great as they have been over the last 2 years, North Shore can't make the same boast.
  10. As you have seen, a lot of the more recent previews have been schedules only. This indicates schools who did not answer our questionnaire. In fact, of the teams left, only 2 schools, High Island and PN-G, have full previews coming. Rather than print information that is available elsewhere on the site, I will just post those two previews tomorrow and that will conclude our previews for the year. My apologies for not being able to provide a more full set of previews this year. Todd
  11. A West Brook freshman tested positive for it.
  12. Nope. Coach Crouch is a good guy who has helped us out in other areas, but getting him to answer is sometimes like pulling teeth.
  13. You do realize that there are 114,800 teachers in Georgia schools, right? So, .22% of Georgia teachers have contracted or have been exposed to COVID-19. [Hidden Content]
  14. My choice would be another national blue blood, Mater Dei out of California.
  15. Coach Smith's concern is not with the skill positions on offense. What worries him is the inexperience in the line. If that comes into form, the Tigers will be more than okay.
  16. Well, a community to the east that knows Silsbee real well still has a decent sized contingent wanting to replace the head coach even though his resume is 2 state championships, 4 state finals, 6 regional final appearances in the last 6 years. Quite simply, it is because he does not have a certain trait. Why this is relevant to Silsbee, I have heard folks on this board make the complaint that Coach Smith lacks that same trait. So probably not.
  17. I do have a thought on that, but I want to keep this thread as positive as possible so I will hold up typing it out.
  18. As we start the 2020-2021 season with our football and volleyball players taking to the field and the court tomorrow, we need to realize what we have been given. We have been given a gift......a gift to play, coach, and follow high school football and volleyball. While some might think it should be a given, other states have shown, whether you agree or not, that it is not. By the dialogue on here, that gift is a very precious one, but is also a very fragile one. A gift that can be destroyed by a single misstep by a player, coach, staff member, member of the player's family or even friends or fellow students. We ALL know the protocols...not all of them are pleasant...many don't agree with them. But if we do not follow them and destroy this gift we have no one to blame but ourselves...no politicians, no doctors, no nothing, just ourselves. I may be the eternal optimist, but I believe in these kids, these coaches and these communities to do what is needed to guide this precious gift along. Some don't agree with that either, but I have seen some pretty serious sacrifices made to allow this gift to proceed in the past. Let us root that they will be able to do so this year as well. And let us all pray for our boys and girls, our coaches, teachers and administrators as they lead us long this treacherous path that is the 2020-21 school year.
  19. Yeah, I like that these two videos shut people who were saying "Well, anybody can do that in batting practice!" up.
