  1. Sorry, about that Jordi.
  2. And he just confirmed that he is still looking.
  3. Last I heard from Coach Barrier. They were still looking for a Week 3 game.
  4. They replaced Deer Park on the schedule. DP dropped them due to District 22-6A revamping its district schedule.
  5. Deer Park dropped West Brook from their schedule due to DP changing their district schedule. West Brook picked up Longview and will play at Abe Martin in Lufkin on Thursday, Oct. 15 at 7 pm
  6. This time of the year in any other year, I would launch into the "nobody wins a scrimmage" but this is still better than most of the topics that we are talking about, so I'm still good with it.
  7. That depends, I took one today in Houston to be cleared for a cardiac catheterization on Friday (nothing wrong, annual caths are routine for heart transplant recipients) and results are expected in 24-48 hours.
  8. Well, I shouldn't have said anything, darn it! Kountze football's twitter announced that a player has been tested for COVID. Camp is suspended pending the results of that test.
  9. West Orange-Cove CISD schools start tomorrow.
  10. Me neither, nor any cases from any high school fall practices. Fingers crossed.
  11. I think KOGT might do it, which means Texan Live will, too.
  12. I don't. I am disappointed that I am not able to deliver information to the Kirbyville faithful. But I don't know the man and other than that I issue I have no problem with the man. As to his coaching chops, I will note that a lot of the Kirbyville faithful were wanting him to be named head coach when Greg Neece left for Newton and sung his praises right here. So while it might not be the case now, at the time several were quite impressed with his football coaching chops. Finally, he came to the Kirbyville job from WO-S and, well, Cornel Thompson is not one to put folks who can't coach on his coaching staff.
  13. I haven't had a chance to get with Coach Prieto lately to see how his schedule is shaping up......but that is what I have right now.
  14. Ladycats win 3-1.
  15. I have confirmed through several of the coaches that District 9-5A-I teams will have a 9 game schedule this year. 1. Each team will play 2 non-district games (Week 1 (9/24-26) and Week 2 (Oct. 1-3) 2. A full district schedule will be played starting in Week 3. 3. There will be 2 open weeks during district play, one in Week 6 and one in Week 10, in case they need to make up games lost to COVID.
  16. Dislike this message board? Possibly, and he wouldn't be the first. Never heard of it? I definitely know that is not the case.
  17. He was probably talking about this: [Hidden Content]
  18. 2020 season opener!
  19. 2020 season opener!
  20. LOL! Those are always Coach T's words!
  21. At this point, anything is possible.
  22. According to the article, Ben Bolt ISD is going virtual learning until October 3rd and having no extracurriculars during the time that they are doing virtual learning. That means the first practice they could have and the first game would not be until November 6....that is the Wk 11 (or the last week of the regular season) for 4A-1A schools. Essentially, the Houston ISD 4A schools are in the same boat as their first practice wouldn't be until mid October with the first week they would be able to play a game would be Nov. 13......that is bi-district week for 4A-1A schools. Now will these two instances alone grind the season to a halt? Doubtful. But it bears watching to see how many follow suit.
  23. Not really. And even if they did, I don't know that they are a mind to. They have already cancelled DII and DIII fall championships. But to tie this back to Texas high school football, even if all of the conferences cancel, I don't think it will be a death knell to high school sports this fall. But this could: [Hidden Content]
