Its cute how you changed our name to Barbies..... I cant wait for that date either. I'm assuming you will be guy in cardiac arrest while the HILL is beating the ponies like a drum on their home field .
Mark my word Dayton will be sitting home this season during the playoffs.
Oh and since you like 7 on 7 BH competed in a national 7 on 7 tournament up in Dallas this summer and beat the defending Kansas state champ and took Louisiana #1 seed to a final play during that tournament. You guys focus on getting past Splendora then you can come sit at the table with the Varsity

7 on 7 doesnt  indicate anything about your team other than chemistry.  College coaches and scouts hate it. Trust me, they prefer their prospects to not to get hurt in a meaningless game, I believe high school head coaches would agree with that as well. If any thing though it's football in some form again

This was what Coach Jones wrote to David Smoak. Maybe this will shed a little light on the move. He will also have the opportunity to work with his brother Jared Jones who is Joaquin's OC and his friend AD/HFC Wade Lawson. They all graduated from Joaquin together. This is a home run hire for Coach Lawson and the Joaquin Rams.

As of this morning I have resigned from West Sabine ISD as Head Football Coach. This decision comes after much thought and many prayers. I would like to thank the West Sabine School District, administration, and the community for the opportunity to work at such a great school for the past eight years and the opportunity to coach their kids. These years have all been a blessing to me and my family, and I will always cherish them for as long as I live. This place has without a doubt changed me for the better, and I can only hope that along the way I’ve changed it a little as well. I truly feel the program is headed in the right direction and will only continue to get better; we’ve managed to stay extremely competitive and be a playoff team over the past two seasons even though most people didn’t give us a chance. I believe that’s a true credit to the will and determination of our kids and our coaching staff.

However, due to personal circumstances the time has come for me to take the next step in my life. My father has been battling Stage Four Kidney Cancer for the past year. It has been a roller coaster of a year for my family. Something like this really puts a lot of things into perspective for a person. I feel it is my obligation and duty to return home for my family. This is a decision I have struggled with over the past year, however I don’t think I could be the man that I claim to be if I don’t do what is right and put what is best for my entire family first in this situation. I’ve always preached the importance of “FAMILY” to the kids in our program, and now it’s time I set a good example. My wife is also pregnant with our first child, and I think it’s extremely important that our child gets to spend as much time with her grandparents as possible.

It is for these reasons that I will be taking a job at Joaquin High School as their Defensive Coordinator for the upcoming 2017 season. This is a move that will allow me to live close to my parents in order to help them out and also allow me to spend more time with them. I will have the rest of my life to focus on my career, and who knows what will happen next, but The Good Lord only gives you one family, and that will always be my number one priority.

    Sincerely,

    Jonathan Jones

Supt's fault?  School Board's fault?  Both?  I live in Evadale, and we know smell.  This incident in Jasper smells like a 10 on the 0-10 Stink Meter.

We lost, end of story.  Hopefully they (Cleveland) got something out of it.  We did not play our best, and have no idea how they played.  I kind of like that we didn't have our best game.  There were some coaches there we might see down the road.  Overlook those Rebels, nothing to see here.  All that matters is Tuesday night going forward.  Best of luck to the Indians, they have a good team.  Let's go Rebs!

With due respect, not getting out of bounds when you are down 5 with 8 seconds left is a bonehead mistake.  Heading to the right when the play is going left is a bonehead mistake.  This, I'm sorry, cannot be dismissed as merely "bonehead." The Pingleton kid, looked down, measured, left his feet and came down with all of this weight on the linebacker's ankle.  That my friend, is an intentional act.  Are some of the sanctions discussed like pulling scholarships too extreme (although in an age where college athletes are making news as often for character issues as they are for their 40 times, if I am a program recruiting this guy, I might want to dig further)? Definitely.  At the same time, when a local school is being is being castigated and called a bunch of "thugs" for pregame rituals that some find intimidating, this was truly a "thug" move that deserves some sanction and given the fact that it did appear to cause some injury, a pretty severe one.
I guess that an aspect that I find particularly galling is that nearly 10 months ago, this very kid had to sit out what was at that time the most important game of his young life because of an injury that he sustained on the field.  You'd think he would have learned something from that...then, again, he might have.

For some odd reason, parents now days have this strange sense of entitlement and believe for some reason that because their kid has played at a particular school thier whole lives or simply because they are seniors that they should automatically be a starter on a team (regardless of athletic ability).  I'm glad we have coaches that recognize the importance of playing the best of the best regardless of senority or last name.
