PlayActionPass got a reaction from jake94 in Beaumont Central @ Nederland Predictions
All of this banter back and forth about who is faster, who has the better defense, who is going to do what is fun to listen to, but ultimately who wins this game will come down to which team has the best football players (not athletes or track stars) and which teams coaches do the best job in preparation and play calling during the game. I give the overall advantage to Nederland on which team has the best football players. I also think Nederland will do a better job in preparation and play calling. Home field advantage does exists and Nederland is a tough place to win for anybody, add in the fact that this is Central's first game on grass and you end up with a formula that says Nederland wins.

The fact is, Gabe and I were not "rooting" for neither team. We were just pointing out the facts of the game and giving our opinions on those facts. We were "rooting" for a good game, which we received.

I really tried to stay out of the coach talk about BH, but I just can't help myself....BH needs an energetic coach that will get his hands dirty with the kids, now wha g I mean by this is a coach who is there during athletics, actually coaches during practice, and can get the kids to want to play for him. I believe Price was forced out because someone in that administration building had a kid that wasn't played. But don't think that gage was their 1st choice then.......he got it after 3 others took numbers back and had their school match. That said.....still think a change needs to be made, just hope the next head coach gives those other coaches a chance cause there are some good ones there.......maybe getting soccer next year will help

Before you enter into any coaching situation, it helps to know what you are getting into. If your personality does not fit the community, school or student population then you need to stay away. Some coaches are not fits for certain schools, that is the cold, honest truth.

Dang, Al-T's sounds good right now. Wish I could get to Winnie for this one. EC wins by a bunch. Defense is too good.

PlayActionPass got a reaction from eagleswoodville#1 in Week 6 in District 12-3A D1
I think Woodville wins this one and takes a huge step towards securing that much desired playoff berth. I think Buna is still good enough to beat Kountze and get the fourth spot. EC and Kirbyvile are still the class of the district, but Woodville could give them a run if they can develop a serviceable passing attack.

PlayActionPass got a reaction from Alpha Wolf in Lumberton @ Central Saturday
Don't think Lumberton can handle the Jags speed on the turf and away from the friendly confines of home. Saturday games are also a pain for those not used to them. Saturday afternoon games in early October also suck because it will be hot as can be. All the advantages lean towards Central. Lumberton will put up a heck of a fight, but Central wins.

PlayActionPass reacted to BMTSoulja1 in Lumberton @ Central Saturday
The first time Lumberton beat Central, it was a hard pill to swallow, but when I walked out of Raider stadium, I talked to some of the Raider players and congratulations and wished them best of luck. If it happens this time, I'll do the same. Hopefully it don't go down like this if we play Jag football.

On the road, on a Saturday afternoon, once a year does NOT get you prepared for it. I would like to see Lumberton win, just don't think it happens this week. I will gladly apologize if I am wrong.

I think Vidor will surprise a lot of folks and make a run for the 4th playoff spot. That spot may come down to who wins the Lumberton/Vidor game.

I think it is the system. Nobody wants to play in that ground and pound, under center, 3 yards in a cloud of dust crap anymore. If a kid has talent and his parents are moving to the area, they sure aren't going to BH. Now they sure do get the good band kids and the girls basketball players.

PlayActionPass got a reaction from Mr. Buddy Garrity in Barbers Hill@Porter
Hmm, lets evaluate this entire situation. Gage is an option (flexbone if I'm not mistaken) guy who won 2 state championships in 1993 and 1996 in Lewisville. He won those championships with a different type of kid than BH has. He is unwilling or unable to change his philosophy. You can NOT be one dimensional at the 4A level or above anymore and win with any consistency. The game has changed and you have to be able to run it and THROW it to win at a high level. Even if you don't throw it great, you have to be able to have the threat of a passing game to win. Now, fast forward to 2015, Southlake Carroll, Lake Travis and a whole host of similar demographic type of schools as BH have won and won big. How have they done it??? They have diffused the athletic advantage of their opponents by spreading them out and using the short, quick, controlled passing game as their running game. Don't tell me BH doesn't have the kids to compete.

East chambers is balling on d right now . It also looks like in the next 3 weeks they may pitch 2 more shutouts .

PlayActionPass got a reaction from SHSALUM in Crockett @ Shepherd
This will be good, close game between two relatively evenly matched teams. Crockett has then advantage on the offensive side and Sheperd has the edge defensively. Both special teams are average at best. i think I would give the advantage to Crockett as far as overall athleticism and to Crockett in the area of discipline and depth. Should be a good game. I'm going to go with the home team.

With the loss to Lumberton, I already hear this sound coming from Ozen...... Thump, thump, thump, thump..........

PlayActionPass got a reaction from HJ90 in Ozen @ Lumberton
I'm going out on a limb here. I think this will be very close game, decided by an injury, turnover or an intentional blown call by a biased official. Now, taking all of those possibilities into account.....
Ozen is prone to the losers limp when they get behind, advantage Lumberton.
Ozen has a tendency to turn the ball over when they play on grass, advantage Lumberton.
Raider Nation has a way of getting the benefit of the doubt from the officials as crucial times at home, big advantage Lumberton.
Raiders pull off the huge upset and stake the early claim to the fourth playoff spot.

I was wrong. I'm a big enough man to admit it. Happy for PNG, lots of good friends in the Groves. They came out ready to play and didn't fall into the trap of overconfidence or the dreaded Thursday night curse. I really hope they beat big Ned and win the district championship.
