  1. I still can't get over the amount of players HJ had on varsity. 53!!! Coach said they had over 120 in the program. By far the most I have ever heard for Hardin-Jefferson.
  2. Orioles pitcher is from Lumberton. Brandon Young. It was his first start in Majors. What a debut!
  3. Astros with a 7-0, 1 hit loss. Seattle won so lead down to half game.
  4. To sum up: No team scored in the controlled part (20 plays each, 10 1st, 10 2nd). Kountze defense looked really good in the controlled part. In the live quarters, HJ got 3 TD's, Kountze 0. HJ moved the ball well after stalling on their first few drives. Kountze never could get anything going offensively. Attrition set in in the last quarter. Lions having to play too many both ways while HJ was able to platoon on both sides of the ball. One player for Kountze did stick out. #8 who plays DE is really good. HJ had problems with him all night. I think Kountze has a shot at making the playoffs as long as that defense plays this well. HJ can also make playoffs but their offense needs to step it up.
  5. Baltimore pitcher had a perfect game thru 7 2/3 innings. Urias reached on an infield single to break it up.
  6. As I am walking out, HJ with another TD.
  7. Back ups starting to be put in for HJ with 5 minutes left. I am out of here.
  8. HJ with the first score of the night. 22 yard TD run.
  9. HJ with another INT. Ball at the Kountze 34
  10. HJ picked up one first down but had to punt it away.
  11. HJ with an INT at their own 10 yard line.
  12. Kountze went three and out. HJ fumbled on second play.
  13. Bout to start the two live quarters. Kountze on offense first.
  14. Not going to bother posting any 2nd team stuff due to the number advantage.
  15. Kountze picked up two 1st downs and about 20 yards in their 10 plays. Both defenses are well ahead of their offenses.
  16. HJ picked up just one 1st down in their 10 plays. Bout 15 yards of offense.
  17. Kountze defense looking really good early in scrimmage.
  18. HJ with 53 suited out for varsity. Most I have ever seen them have. Kountze has 24 suited out.
  19. Going to go check out Hardin-Jefferson at Kountze tonight. Starts at 6pm.
  20. Josh Hader was diagnosed with a "capsule sprain" in his left shoulder and won't throw for at least three weeks. So that means for at least the next 18 games or so, Houston will be without their closer Hader. Someone else will need to be the closer for a while. Might see Abreu move to that spot and have others be the 8th inning man.
  21. His family are major LSU folk. All of them went to LSU. Grandpa, grandma, momma, etc. Grandpa and Grand Uncle were big athletes at LSU. Kid has great potential, but that LSU connect is not necessarily about him.
  22. I had a buddy coach of mine go to that scrimmage. He said Huffman is very legit. HF will be fine but they are not that good in the trenches on both sides of the ball. LB's are on the small size and not very fast. He said he would be curious how the QB does when the defenses are allowed to make contact.
  23. In the BISD case, the naming of the stadium was strictly a school board kissing butt. Majority of community wasn't really behind it. (including part of the black community). The school board made the decision without any input from the community. Only a very small portion of the community want the stadium name to go back to Thomas. Might be a loud portion, but definitely not the majority. I can't speak on the Midland community and how the majority of it's community wanted the Lee name back. Sounds like their voices were heard. I think it's different due to what the majority wants from both these communities.
  24. It's 5. That's what DCTF has and what their head coach told me. Mustangs have 6 returners on offense. Lumberton returns 7 on offense and 3 on defense.
