  6. Looking at tomorrow night's games and the district standings, there are some teams who can clinch playoff spots tomorrow night, I will hold off on posting a thread for playoff scenarios until this weekend. (might do one Thursday night) In the mean time, I will post potential playoff clinches in the individual and district game threads (where it's applicable) tomorrow afternoon.
  7. Funny you bring that subject up. (Asbeck and Lufkin). Little birdie (actually a big bird in the game) told me that's a good possibility.
  8. Coaches had a little bit of a falling out several years ago about a summer league. That was about the time Kountze started a downward spiral. The last 12 years would not have been good for Kountze had they played Silsbee. Hypothetically speaking (which is what this entire thread is about, hypo) I say Silsbee would be 5 point favorite.
  9. I'll be getting on that very soon. Look for a thread this weekend.
  10. If Worthing makes the playoffs (they are currently 4th), then Silsbee would see Yates in 2nd round. Worthing would send Yates to DII. Only way Yates goes DI is for Kashmere to make playoffs. Right now, Worthing is 9-4, Furr is 7-6 and Kashmere is 6-7 in district. I just don't see Kashmere making it. Even if Furr makes it instead of Worthing, that would still send Yates to DII. That would put Wheatley on the opposite side of the bracket from Silsbee. Would not see them till regional final. I think Yates and Wheatley are very capable of beating Silsbee and it won't take a bad game from the Tigers to do it.
  11. The other team was better.
  12. Centennial may not have had all their players as well. Those summer games are a crap shoot when trying to compare to now.
  13. I prefer Blue Bell over Ben and Jerry's and it has nothing to do with politics. My point, I will enjoy whatever food or drink I want from whatever source. I don't care about those folks politics. If it's good and I enjoy it, then so be it. I am a huge Jimmy Buffet fan. Love his music. He was a very left leaning person. Did not agree with his politics. But I still listen to his music and spent money going to his concerts. I am pretty sure that some of you buy products and enjoy them on the regular that come from people that you do not agree with politically. IMO, the boycotting of someone's business because of their politics is so unnecessary. I think one could go into any of your households and find something that comes from a company or person that you do not agree with politically.
  14. Also, I would pump the breaks a little on 19-5A being the best district in Texas. Might not even be the best 5A district. District 8-5A #3 Mansfield Summit #13 Burleson Centennial #14 Mansfield Timberview #25 Burleson
  15. I would not be shocked if Nederland beat PAM at home.
  16. I agree 100% They do so well on the defensive end but their lack of shooting and consistent offense is definitely their downfall. But they are not talented enough to not play hard. Titans could be a dangerous team in the playoffs when it's win or season over. Hopefully that's urgent enough for them.
  17. Anyone have a result for this one?
  18. Now that I can agree on. But what I have seen is that West Brook can adjust very well to the slow down game. They don't get too flustered with it. Like I said, some teams defensively can make you slow down but also a team's offense can do the same. If a team has great guard play (doesn't turn it over in the full court which leads to transition buckets) then they are able to play at their pace. I just think in the long run (playoffs) it's much better to be able to adapt to a slower pace than trying to play out of control just to make it a faster pace game. If you cannot turn a team over with your pressure defense (full, 3/4, half court, man, zone trap) then you better figure out a way to play half court offense.
  19. 21. Aggie lack of offense in 2nd half lost this one. tu made adjustments offensively in 2nd half. Didn't hurt that they lit it up from three land in 2nd half. Horns went to the FT line 17 times, making 14 while Aggies were 3/8 at FT line. A&M had no business losing this game just like they had no business beating Ole Miss Wednesday night.
  22. You can copy me the next two pickems so that you can right the ship.
