  1. Astros out to an early lead. Correa with a 2 run HR, Sanchez with a solo shot, Carantini with a two run HR in the first inning. Houston with 4 hits in the first. Three were dingers. 5-0 Astros
  2. This was my take on the game last year: Eisenhower has a really good soph. RB. He had over 120 yards rushing last night. Their O-line dominated WB up front. Bruins never had an answer for Ike's counter plays. QB was very mobile and helped extend plays when needed. Eisenhower not a bad team. West Brook offense is a struggle. The soph. QB will need time to grow. Threw 2 picks last night. Bruin run game was ineffective. Ike's front 4 was able to control line of scrimmage. WB has to get better up front to have any success this season. Bruins finished with less than 120 yards of total offense. BTW, Ike's QB from Warren started the game. Played first series then was replaced by #2 who was much more dynamic. He was the QB that I was told to be the starter.
  3. Ike did beat West Brook last season 27-17 in Beaumont. I was at that game. Ike wasn't bad at all. I got WB winning because I think the Bruins are going to be very good this season. Not sure about Ike going 0-10.
  4. Silsbee Tiger defense very good against the run Nederland Lumberton offense will not score enough Huffman Huffman clearly better all around Hardin-Jefferson HJ defense will shine in this one. Liberty Close one, Liberty has less turnovers Hamshire-Fannett LC-M without QB, HF will take advantage Livingston Livingston offense will be too much Bridge City BC defense will shut down Buna
  5. LC-M is without their starting QB for a couple of weeks. Give me HF, 27-14
  6. I was impressed with them at the first scrimmage. Lot's of speed and quickness. Was lot's of silver hats around the football.
  7. I'll be on the sidelines for this one. Looking forward to a great game. Now, where to have my pregame meal is the question. lol
  8. I disagree with McCullers pitching well. He walked 5 batters in 4 innings and pitch count was 87. That's not pitching "well". He could not have lasted another inning with that pitch count. Probably would have been blown up had he pitched another inning.
  9. Houston with the 10-7 win. Abreu gets a 4 out save. All four outs via the strikeout.
  10. Orioles won't go away. 7-6 after 7.
  11. Dubin in to relieve McCullers in 5th. Lance only goes 4 innings. Can't get much more than 4 from him all season.
  12. Walker with a 3 run bomb. 7-3 Stros, middle 5th
  13. McCullers now with 5 BB's through first 4 innings. 87 total pitches SMH
  14. Lumberton will struggle this year.
  15. You are allowed only one throw over to first per inning. Another one of those rule changes to speed up play like the pitch clock.
  16. I know the scrimmage was moved to Lumberton and is being played. Have not heard anything yet.
  17. McCullers got out of a bases loaded jam in the first. Gave up a hit and 2 BB's. Did get 2 K's. McCullers has walked entirely too many batters this season.
  18. Burton is ranked #25 in state in 2A DII. Fellow district mate Granger is #18. In their region (Region IV) is #2 Shiner, #12 Junction, #14 Falls City and #22 Brackettville. Burton is 12 miles east of Brenham on Hwy 290. Known for it's smokehouse. Love their sausage.
  19. He's allowed to practice and scrimmage without being eligible.
  20. 2A DII Burton. smh Let's see if Bartlett, Granger, Iola, McDade, Milano, Snook and Somerville agree to this transfer.
  21. In regards to Vidor/Nacogdoches/Jasper scrimmage, another very reliable source told me Jasper looked very undisciplined on both sides of the ball. Lot's of penalties, missed assignments and too much extra curricular going on. Heard this was the case last week as well.
